Re: New Series4 symbol in SIMPL

This happens sometimes when the device database is updated. It seems to be generally safe to do so. I did notice that on the most recent one, the update messed up (or disconnected) my signals that check the hostname at startup. So something on that device extender must have changed. It was an easy fix, and the only time I've ever had any issues with letting it update the device.

Re: 2n Crestron RAVA

Fantastic, thanks all. I'm keep to try this on site next week.
?
Although...
?
Would it be fair to say the name of this setting is misleading? Because of course I don't need to end group calls at first rejection, I need to silence all other potential receivers across both SIPs at first answer.
?
Many thanks

Mh, just tested with the below mentioned setting activated, but doesn?t work.

The other panels continue ringing.

Yes, I?ve just integrated a 2N at my own house and the setting is under

Calling => General Settings.

Setting is ¡°Terminate Group Calls on First Rejected¡±

That looks right. Their firmware this year has moved a few things around but it's definitely that setting, on the 2n side, not a Crestron issue.

Re: Samsung Terrace HDBT input

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

The place I put them already had HDBT set from previous TV, so I just used that. ?I don't know if I could have just used the TV as a receiver or not, but I do seem to recall that I could not implement control via IR/Serial. ?I suspect you could use IP control, and just send the HDMI if you have two CAT available at the TV.

I¡¯m not in front an a 2N so I can¡¯t remember the settings page this is in, I think it under general settings, but you need to enable this.?

Crestron Home Extension driver

Hi all,
?
I am trying to compile the sample 'ExtensionDriver' from the latest SDK resources, and after resolving all missing dependencies and outdated framework issues, it is building without any major problems.?
However, the PKG file is not generated due to this error during startup:?
"Null Exception: Reference to a string is not set to an instance of a String."
?
I am stuck without any clue.?

New Series4 symbol in SIMPL

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Hi,

I noticed a new device symbol for 4-series processors was introduced into SIMPL. When I load an older program, SIMPL asks me to replace with the new one.

Is that a good idea? Did anybody experience any issues?

?

Thanks,

Thorsten

Novastar TU15Pro and VX Series

Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today

Most articles on smart home technology, including many I've written, focus on smart home technology for a suburban home.? My latest article, "How to Maximize Small Spaces With Smart Furnishings", looks at how smart home technology, including robotic furnishing, can optimize living in small spaces.? Beyond that, the information in the article is applicable in other living situations.? For example, creating a room that converts between a home office and guest bedroom.

You can find the article here:

For those interested in earlier articles that I've written, you can find those here:

For these interested in even earlier content that I wrote, you can find it all here though older content has formatting issues due to a transfer from blogspot to wordpress.

Thanks

Re: Novastar H series

Your email link wasn't complete so I couldn't send you the .pdf I have. This is the only info I see in the manual for input selection.
?
?
4.3.1 Switching Input Source of Layer
(2) Command to switch input source of layer
Switch the input source of layer to CardNo:
55 aa 00 00 fe 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 Addr0 Addr1 Addr2 Addr3 03 00 CardNo 00 00 SUM_L
SUM_H
The command data is in hexadecimal format. The parameter descriptions are as follows.
a. CardNo stands for the slot number (refer to Appendix 3). For example, CardNo of HDMI
2.0 is 0x00.
b. SUM_L and SUM_H constitute the checksum of this command frame, which is the sum of
the underlined data and 0x5555. The calculation formula is as below.
SUM = 0x00 + 0x00 + 0xfe + 0x00 + 0x00 + 0x00 + 0x00 + 0x00 + 0x01 + 0x00 +
Addr0 + Addr1 + Addr2 + Addr3 + 0x03 + 0x00 + CardNo + Priority + Source +
0x5555, SUM = SUM_H<<8 + SUM_L (SUM_L stands for the lower 8 bits of SUM,
while SUM_H stands for the higher 8 bits of SUM).
c. Addr: Addr stands for the layer parameter address (Addr = Addr3<<24 + Addr2<<16 +
Addr1<<8 + Addr0). Different layers have different parameter addresses. The calculation
formula for Addr is Addr = 0x13020012 + WindowNo * 0x30. For example, if you want to
adjust the parameters of MAIN layer, then Addr = 0x13020012 + 0 * 0x30 = 0x13020012,
that is, Addr0 = 0x12, Addr1 = 0x00, Addr2 = 0x02, Addr3 = 0x13.
d. Addr: Addr stands for the layer parameter address (Addr = Addr3<<24 + Addr2<<16 +
Addr1<<8 + Addr0). Different layers have different parameter addresses. The calculation
formula for Addr is Addr = 0x13020012 + WindowNo * 0x30. For example, if you want to
adjust the parameters of PIP1 layer, then Addr = 0x13020012 + 1 * 0x30 = 0x13020042 =
Addr3<<24 + Addr2<<16 + Addr1<<8 + Addr0 = 0x13<<24 + 0x02<<16 + 0x00<<8 + 0x42,
that is, Addr0 = 0x42, Addr1 = 0x00, Addr2 = 0x02, Addr3 = 0x13.
e. Addr: Addr stands for the layer parameter address (Addr = Addr3<<24 + Addr2<<16 +
Addr1<<8 + Addr0). Different layers have different parameter addresses. The calculation
formula for Addr is Addr = 0x13020012 + WindowNo * 0x30. For example, if you want to
adjust the parameters of PIP2 layer, then Addr = 0x13020012 + 2 * 0x30 = 0x13020072 =
Addr3<<24 + Addr2<<16 + Addr1<<8 + Addr0 = 0x13<<24 + 0x02<<16 + 0x00<<8 + 0x72,
that is, Addr0 = 0x72, Addr1 = 0x00, Addr2 = 0x02, Addr3 = 0x13.
?
(2) Response packet
If the response packet is in the following format, the layer parameters are set successfully.
aa 55 00 00 00 fe 00 00 00 00 01 00 Addr0 Addr1 Addr2 Addr3 00 00 SUM_L SUM_H
¡°SUM_L¡± and ¡°SUM_H¡± constitute the checksum of this command frame, which is the sum of the
