Re: OT: Verizon Wireless Service

Edited

I have had that issue happen to me several times.? Cell companies are constantly upgrading their networks with new technologies and removing old equipment.? First it was when they discontinued 3G, then it was CDMA (Used by Verizon and Sprint for voice calls), and now the push it to get everyone over to 5G from LTE. 3G and CDMA is pretty much gone now.? I think they are now reallocating frequency bands used for LTE over to 5G. So while some of the older services still work, their frequency bands are are slowly being reduced.

Re: Send Email: Series 3: How in holy Hell?!?!

I believe I followed all the instructions, including changing the include path in the SIMPL+ module, but I will go through them again to see if I missed something. Thank you!

OT: Verizon Wireless Service

Hi All,
I've been a Verizon Wireless user for 20-25 years in New England and always loved its Great coverage and reliability.
For the last 4-6 months things seem to have gone south, even sometimes with WiFi calling.

I wanted to see if its was just me/our area, or if other Verizon users have been experiencing a recent degradation in performance...
TIA!

Re: Cisco Room Module - MS Teams URL Serial Too Long for SIMPL Windows

Is this a limitation in the module or with an MSP tied to the serial output? I'm pretty sure simpl windows can handle up to 1024 character string now. if it goes above that then you still have the same issue.

Not Crestron - Need Windows USB driver for Revolabs Executive Elite MIC controller.

I just couldn't think of a better group to ask.? Looking for a link that I can download a USB driver or a forum that might cover this.? It is a confrerence room system I have, but because of issues with the AVIA 1280 and audio over usb connection they moved it to the windows computer in the system.? It had been working fine for 2 years until the pc updated to windows 11.? Now I had them restore back to windows 10 but it still doesn't recognize the controller.? If someone can point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.

Re: Cisco Room Module - MS Teams URL Serial Too Long for SIMPL Windows

This is just one of the many reasons we have moved away from using Crestron control panels to control Cisco Room Kits. We have found it much much easier and "future proof" if we simply add whatever outside controls we need to the Cisco Touch 10 / Navigator panel. Its just become to much to try and keep up with the constant changes / additions they keep making to the Cisco API to go along with the limitations of the current control modules.

Re: Send myself a text when....

This is good to know. I am not entirely sure why, in the 21st century, we still have to be kludgey when it comes to emails and Crestron.

Mystery of the universe I suppose...

Thanks.

Re: Duplicate IP-IDs on same network with different systems

Yea we did this type of thing as a redundancy solution and It was slightly quirky at first but in the end it seemed to work pretty well. Not sure if thats the solution you are working towards here, but the multiple processor/ID part of it did work for us.?

Re: Duplicate IP-IDs on same network with different systems

Thanks, Guys!
That's what I thought but wanted to get some confirmation!!

Re: Duplicate IP-IDs on same network with different systems

The CIP/SCIP connection is initiated by the secondary device to the primary device. When you give a TSW an IP ID of 91 and point it to the IP address, hostname, or FQDN of the primary device, it doesn't matter what else is on the network with the same IP ID, it matters that the primary device's network status is up and it has a populated IP table and programming to establish what gets communicated between the devices.

The only time this is an issue, using your example, is if you were to have one processor, therefore one IP/hostname/FQDN, running multiple programs and multiple secondary devices (TSW's) trying to connect using the same IP ID. An IP ID can only be used once per primary device, not once per program, with the exception being things like EISC.

Re: Duplicate IP-IDs on same network with different systems

It should work fine, there is no Auto discovery to muck it up, just configure each TP with its respective processors IPID

Mmm, the ip table relates to the ipaddress and ipid, so I might think that no issues would occur, but maybe someone has a different point of view.

I would like to have one primary program with the TSWs having a single IP-ID (ex: 91)
Each of the three TSWs IPTable settings would be pointing to three different processors.

If I had all three TSW IP-IDs at 91 but each pointing to a different IP address for each processor, would this create an issue for the Crestron gear??
I can see both sides of the story...

Obviously I could do a save as and change the IP-IDs for each system, but I wanted to see if this really would be necessary...
TIA!

Cisco Room Module - MS Teams URL Serial Too Long for SIMPL Windows

A client is updating software on all existing Cisco codecs and moving to MS Teams for all conferencing. The issue we're seeing is the Cisco Room Devices modules are receiving the needed meeting info when selecting a meeting and appears to parse that data appropriately, but the dial command serial string exceeds the 255 character limit due to the incredibly long Teams Call Number (URL). The module doesn't split the dial string. It just truncates everything after the 255 limit. I understand this to be a SIMPL Windows limitation, but these programs will need to stay within SIMPL. Any ideas how I can make this work? I assume the module could be updated to split longer serial strings, but maybe I'm wrong or there's another solution.?

For reference, the problem is similar to this:?

Re: Help with DM-RMC-SCALER-C reporting as C2I-DMPS-200-VIDEO

Oh my goodness, yes, it looks like that's what happened!?

I didn't realize that the DMPS audio and video took their own ip addresses. I just happened to assign a dhcp reservation to the scaler that was the same as the DMPS video ip address. Whoops!

Thanks for the tip. I'll never make that mistake again!

Re: Help with DM-RMC-SCALER-C reporting as C2I-DMPS-200-VIDEO

Pure guessing:

Does the DM-RMC-SCALER-C by accident have the same IP address as the video card of the DMPS?

Best regards

Help with DM-RMC-SCALER-C reporting as C2I-DMPS-200-VIDEO

I have a misbehaving scaler on my hands. I bought it second hand. Upgraded the firmware. Tested it. Everything was fine. Then I installed it in its new home and its behaving strangely. It shows up in Toolbox with Device Name: C2I-DMPS-200-VIDEO. After several reboots it may come back for a little while and look like a regular?DM-RMC-SCALER-C. But say if I update the IP Table, it reboots and goes back to calling itself C2I-DMPS-200-VIDEO.

It is connected to a DM-DA4-4K-C which is connected to the HDMI output of a DMPS3-200-C.

I have a second?DM-RMC-SCALER-C connected to the same DM-DA4-4K-C that works just fine.?

I'm not sure how this misbehaving device got into this state, or how to get it out of it. I am grateful for any ideas you may have!
