Re: Big Ass Fan integration

I'd be very surprised if an app change broke the old communication. I've always used UDP packets, and unless they change the fan firmware, one would think it continues to respond to the old protocol. The app does prompt to update firmware, which would be really annoying if that's how they change the protocol. BAF was quite reasonable about sharing the protocol when I wanted it.

FYI: I found out that BAF is discontinuing there Haiku App and replacing it with their BAF app.? I wonder if that will break the module in the file section that controls the Haiku fans.

Re: CP4-R Won't update to 3.011.0070 and 4 series firmware on FTP site

On the FTP site, open the firmware folder, then open the _files folder, this is where I'm seeing the 4 Series firmware.

Re: Big Ass Fan integration

not sure this will help.

the product site says it has an IR remote. Could you control VIA IR.

Re: Big Ass Fan integration

No problem. Jason.? I appreciate the input.? Yes, I did see that you can buy a 0-10V version of the fan when you order the fan.? But like you mentioned, running that wiring would be difficult -- not to mention that when you use the option, it disables all other forms of control.? Plus the client has apparently already installed the fans -- so that is probably not an option anymore.

FYI: I found out that BAF is discontinuing there Haiku App and replacing it with their BAF app.? I wonder if that will break the module in the file section that controls the Haiku fans.

Sorry Steve - my experience was with one of the original BAF units. I believe that "Powerfoil" referred to a particular airfoil shape that BAF?offered with their fans at the time. I was too casual referring to "that class" of fan, intending only the large size. But it seems that the large fans have advanced in the past 15 years, fortunately. (The VFD used in the old ones caused a lot of high-frequency interference with Crestron temperature sensors and some video signals.)
?
From what?I can tell, MK-I61 means the i6 line, and ?indicates that they support 0-10V control for fan speed (see p.26). So your ability to control will depend on having the wiring in place (or being able to put a 0-10V device near the fan).?

I'd enjoy hearing how it goes for you.

Can't get QM-RMC to connect with DMPS-300-C

Long story, so please bear with me.

I have a room with a DMPS-300-C, going to a DM-RMC-100-C from DM Output 3, which in turn feeds network to a QM-RMC to control a projector and projection screen.? Yes, it's an old room, but not up for upgrades.

For some reason, I cannot get network to the QM-RMC.? If I plug it directly into the network, it will get it's assigned IP address, is ping-able, all that good stuff.? When I plug it into the LAN port of the DM-RMC, while the lights blink, the network doesn't even see the MAC address of the QM-RMC.? The DMPS and the DM-RMC both can be connected to via Toolbox.

Even if I set the IP statically, the QM-RMC will still not connect to the DMPS IP table.

I've done everything I can think of.? I've replaced the QM-RMC, replaced the DM-RMC, rebooted the entire system, worked with the network guys (who are new, and don't seem to grasp the issue).

I'm stumped.? At this point, it issue seems to lie in the DMPS somewhere, but the issue may also lie with the network itself.? I'm looking for some insight for a fix, be it a Crestron fix or a network fix.

Yeah, and I'm hoping to not have to replace the DMPS, in a perfect world.

Any help or insights will be appreciated.

ping it from text console = Open the text console in toolbox and ping it from there.

?

Perhaps it is a toolbox problem. If you can ping it from the computers command prompt and not from toolbox text console that narrows the issue.

I have not knowingly changed anything on my machines - one day it worked, the next it did not. I am confident firmware is not current, but again it worked with current release. Same with DB. Not sure that i know what ping it from text console means, but yes it replies to pings through command prompt. It also works just fine with handhelds, including iPad via wireless network connection. It also sends lighting requests across network to the lighting processor. All i can think of is some windows/network issue that crestron is susceptable to.

Are you saying the Big Ass Fans come with an Allen-Bradley VFD motor drives?? I downloaded a AB VFD manual for one and yes at least this one had an RS485 port on them and even had the protocol in the manual.

The specs for the MK-I61 says it has "Built-in SenseMe? technology and voice integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Home". So I am thinking this is more of a consumer grade product rather than a product that uses an off the shelf commercial motor drive. My experience with Alexa is you can use it to control Crestron.? Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today

My latest article, "Smart Living with the Withings Body Cardio Smart Scale¡± is being published by the good folks at Residential Tech Today Magazine on their web site.

Medical technology that, only a short time ago, was reserved for hospitals has made its way into a residential setting.? Withings is a leader in developing smart medical and wellness? devices for the home.? The Withings Body Cardio Smart Scale is their top of the line scale and provides advanced wellness information that, with the help of the Withings Health Mate? app, can be easily interpreted by consumers.

You can find the article here:

Can you move the DM from the control subnet to the customer LAN? If so, this would allow the projector (and DM frame, of course) to pull an IP address from the customer LAN and generally make everything transparent.

Subject: [crestron] Access Courtesy LAN port on control subnet

?

Hi,
I wish to access an epson projector via the LAN port on a DM-Scaler-C.
The scaler is connected to a DM Switch (16x16).
The switch is connected to a Control Subnet.
The control subnet is on a crestron CEN-SW-POE-5.
The DMswitch is controlled by a Pro3.
The Pro3 is connected to both the control subnet and the WAN.
I want to acess the epson from the WAN.
The epson software on the WAN only allows for an IP4 address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.

I have been fiddling around with the pro3 NAT setting but have been striking out.
I have no other LAN ports near the projector nor am I allowed to connect it wireless.

TIA

Yes, you can check with tools like JetBrains DotPeek (Free) to see what assembly refs there are, and the version should be shown in there.

Re: VTPro error: "Crestron app themes not installed"

The solution is to uninstall SmartGraphics 2.17, install SmartGraphics 2.15, and then reinstall SmartGraphics 2.17. It now seems to hang for about 30 seconds during the compile, but it does successfully make it to the end after those steps.

Re: Vantage InFusion Communications

Yup, Same here...
Vantage tech support had us go to Network/Port settings and enable:
2001 UDP
3001 TCP? (we're using a TCP Client symbol with port 3001)

He suggested to put the Crestron processor IP address in the Security/Exceptions list but that didn't work...Had to disable like you did...

I love that we have all this security stuff, which wastes so much time and then we have to disable it again just to get things to work...It would be nice if vendors could get their acts together...Crestron included...

Re: Big Ass Fan integration

"Modbus over RS-485" sounds correct. The one I've experienced in that class used an Allen-Bradley VFD.

A correction to my original post, I got a model number now and it is the MK-I61 series fans instead.? I don't know if that makes any difference.

Re: Vantage InFusion Communications

Had this also, Vantage guy has to setup your connection as not secure. He may have to roll back the OS on their side.

We had this and then the vantage guys changes something on their end and got me working. You can always call vantage support, I did and that how I got the idea to have the?
vantage guy change it to insecure connection or whatever they call it in their software.

Re: Newtonsoft.JSON 4.0.8.0 dependency

This is what I gather, however if I try to import the simpl module from 2.0 or 2.1 both give me the error relating to Newtonsoft Json version is 3.5.

I've downloaded fresh versions of both and deleted it from the central repository entirely and re-added.

The second the epiphonvideopearl2driversimplplusv2.1 module is imported and referenced in my project it throws the error compiling.

Is there any way to check what newtonsoft json version is referenced in the driver module?
