Re: Alexa thermostat control
开云体育The closest thing I know of to a list of voice commands is to read through the help for the Voice Control Room Climate v2.0.0 Crestron module.? The commands aren't in a unified list but are spread out throughout the help.? Also, the help specifies that for the voice commands to work properly you have to properly set the inputs to the module based on feedback from the thermostat including current temperature, current mode, current set point, etc. Jay On 7/28/2021 7:30 PM, AVMaster wrote:

Realy guys? Nothing?
Just a little more thinking on the topic, aside from the room or name inputs the thermostat voice control module should function universally…meaning it doesn’t really matter what is defined in the voice module ins and outs. ?I ‘could’ have the cool FB turn on a light switch or send an IR command. ?I guess my point is that there should be a fixed list of commands that this thing will respond to and I can’t seem to find that documentation anywhere…unless I’m fundamentally miss understanding how it works. ?Just trying to understand what I’m doing wrong or if something is broken under the hood. |
Re: RS-232 commands that only worked over an unconventional termination...
Sharp! that's your problem!!...HaHa!!? The old units that I dealt with had an issue where the serial port would turn off after the set was turned off, which would require IR to run it on...Beautiful!!
At least we don't have any issues like this anymore...? oh wait!...Arrrgghhh!!!!...:) |

Re: Need help
One shots would create a pulsed output (which may be what's required, but not necessarily) - it all depends on what's being driven to send commands.? Being pedantic, a one-shot puts an event into the scheduler, whereas a logic wave pulse doesn't, so that would be more efficient if you just want an on/off pulse to trigger some other logic.
The original idea would probably be bad for IR commands (because either the on - or off - would be permanently high), and the one shot solution would be ideal here because you could then dictate the length of the IR pulse, but if you're driving a serial IO (say) then the original idea would be fine as it's the signal transition that matters, rather than the time/width of any pulse. The bit I *DO* like about this is the attention to the logic wave timing, by using a buffer to slow the wave down by one step. |
Re: Jandy iAquaLink 2.0 not connecting
Jandy Driver v8.0000.0014 has been released 7/28/21 for CH Systems to address recent API changes. (SIMPL AppMarket Module work is still in progress)
?
?
- Remove all instances of the driver from Room Configuration.
- Wait 30-60 seconds and then reboot the Home processor.
- When going back into pair devices to add the driver please wait for the "Updating devices" to finish loading.
- Then re-add the driver and test controls and communication. |

Need help

I am sure I am not the only one here who has dabbled in simpl programming, but I am pretty new at it...and I suspect that this answer is starting me in the face; I am just not seeing it...
I'm writing a module. To make it work the way I want it to, I have an input signal that is supposed to indicate a maintained state, so it's an on-off signal. But over on the device, I need to send discrete on/off commands. So I need to send an "on" signal when the control signal goes high, and an "off" signal when it goes low. Can it be as simple as: CONTROL------->[ BUFFER ]------->TURN_ON and CONTROL------->[ NOT ]------->TURN_OFF That's what I was about to try, but I wondered if I am just missing something important here |

What I don't understand is why Crestron is bent on enforcing SSL and passwords for every thing including the USB interface which is not even connected to the network AUTH has always applied to both IP & USB connections, since it's about restricting access to authorized users of the system. With 4-Series though, you can configure the unit to allow for easy reset of AUTH creds (without nuking the processor - ). SSL must also be enabled on the processor, but it's SECUREGATEWAYMODE that determines if non-secure CIP :41794 connections are accepted (since not all peripherals support enabling SSL to use SCIP :41796 w/ SETCSAUTHENTICATION creds).? Crestron Mobile is a weird fringe case since it doesn't use standard CIP :41794 in non-secure applications. You can still connect TCP/IP Clients to control third party devices over non-secure Telnet, etc. You just can't use non-secure services to access the processor anymore (no CTP/SCTP, Telnet, FTP when AUTH ON - only SSH/SFTP) |

But looking at the law, it appears just to apply to forcing a password change the first time you log into them or preprogramming a unique password in each device.? It does not appear to require SSL.? That all seems reasonable and I support that. What I don't understand is why Crestron is bent on enforcing SSL and passwords for every thing including the USB interface which is not even connected to the network.? Does that mean the simple TCP/IP sockets are going away too?? At least in other OS's I program in, I can use a mix of secure and insecure connections.? It just seem crazy and reduces the usability of the product. |

On 3 Series I can use the command prompt and disable Auth and SSL. What I said is true...just nuanced (and discussed in OLH 5571 linked below). To be more precise, following a RESTORE cmd on latest 3-Series or TSWx60 FW, Forced Auth mode would be enabled. Custom credentials are required for CA-SB327 compliance on all new products/FWs. That's why you can't "simply be allowed to" disable AUTH/SSL moving forward on most products. It's technically possible to roll back 3-Series processors to versions prior to this requirement, disable AUTH/SSL, and then upgrade them to keep them non-secure. But True Blue Support will generally advise the system utilize at least bare minimum security (AUTH enabled) and other components be upgraded for compatibility with security features if needed. Disabling Forced Auth Mode isn't possible for 4-Series / TSxx70 since it's been a requirement since initial release. |
开云体育Thanks. I don't have a Shelly plug to test with but I believe the module I wrote for a Shelly relay will turn the plug on/off.? I took a look at the Shelly API and it looks like the commands are the same.? That makes sense since a plug is just a relay in a different form factor. Enjoy Jay On 7/28/2021 8:20 AM, fabiodaubermann

Hi Jay, |
Hi Jay,
I was taking a look at your modules, they look great. By any chance any of them can control the Shelly Plug US? (at a first glance, it appears that it does not). I'm looking for a smart plug to play around with controlling my attic fan... I have been using a combination of a TP-Link smart plug via IFTTT, but my goal is to have something that does not depend on the cloud. By the way, I really like the way you programmed those modules, from the debug options to the way all signals are neatly presented on the simpl side? (for example, I noticed you made sure to align all parameters at the top of the module, etc.). Small details like these matter and certainly do take time to make it right. Anyway, just wanted to give credit where credit is due. Great job! |
Re: Carrier Infinity Thermostat Control through Crestron
开云体育We are working on a solution. We do not have a firm timeline for release, but progress is being made. ? There are some architectural choices that definitely make it more involved than one may think on first glance. There are also some behaviors that differ a bit from how you might expect a traditional thermostat integration to work. ? If you drop us an email at support /at/ controlworks.com one of my colleagues can update you once a module is closer to release. ? Lincoln ? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D ?
