Re: Sharp LC60LE661U volume ramp issue.
Perhaps they had leftover RS232 chipsets from their old projectors that were notorious for having full buffers.? Anybody else remember that? On Thu, Feb 23, 2017 at 8:30 AM, eagrubbs@... [Crestron] <Crestron@...> wrote:

Yes the polling is the problem of the com port on the tv locking up. Modify the polling rate in the module or make your own. Sharps do not like getting hit with a lot of commands in a short period and get rather pissy about it. As for the tv fully locking up, I can't say I have experienced that one and I have controlled hundreds maybe even thousands of sharps. On a side note, I only poll sharps for power state at about a 3 second rate and I make sure to stop polling when a command is sent and block polling for 2 seconds after the last command is sent. |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThanks Steve and Logantv, ? Logantv, are you using a canned module with polling for settings or are you just sending commands? Do you think it would make any difference if you were only sending commands? Steve, are you seeing the same issue? Thank you guys. On Feb 22, 2017, at 8:59 PM, logantv@... ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýSounds like your stream resolution is to high. I wrote a module mainly for ICR that will call for the secondary stream when panel indicates that it is remote as well as allowing for different port call when remote.? Re: setup view of this forum
For those who don't know, there already IS a slack group with a good crew of people there helping each other out. we have around 141 members currently after starting it up around July of 2016. You can sign up at??. i try and not spam this yahoo group with the link as i want to respect the fact that this is a great active community and don't want to tear it down in any way.
Eric is also very correct in that the reddit group is pretty active and is another good source of help and you should check that out if the yahoo group is frustrating The unfortunate fact of the yahoo group is its legacy. Its been around for 18 years, there are 11,345 members, countless threads and files of people helping each other out. The yahoo groups format isnt' the greatest but has the advantage of easy file sharing, and chats that come to your email without having to go to an application or dedicated web page.? I truly hope that yahoo doesn't kill groups but if it does, hopefully we can archive the files and maybe chats into an AWS S3 storage so that we don't lose so many years of little fixes that only are found through experience. |

Re: SWAMP-24X8
I know it is simple, and I read the brochure already. It is not like I am being lazy, I am working in a really complex system, in which I was supposed to spend like two weeks of programming, but I only have 2 more days, I am not eating, not sleeping, and english is not my main language as you can see, that's why I asked, because you guys are so nice every time I need some help, so I thought someone would already have this program, and could help me by sharing it.

Re: ip cameras
Just out of curiousity, when your streaming cameras externally, is there a way to use the controller as a proxy so you do not need to open ports to each camera? On Wed, Feb 22, 2017 at 5:19 PM, steve@... [Crestron] <Crestron@...> wrote:

It's disappointing since this is the last usable non-PNL Sharp but it's happened to every one we installed and nothing has fixed any of them, including RMA replacement. I hope you have better luck, but we've stopped using Sharp for anything but interactives. |

Re: setup view of this forum
If you didn't already know, I?took over the /r/Crestron subreddit about 8 months ago and cleaned the place up a bit. The userbase there has been steadily growing. (as of now, 800 subscribers and around 14,500 pageviews last month) Being Reddit, I understand it's probably in a lot of corporate filters as being a bad website, but it's another possible resource for us programmers. Obviously not a place to discuss Labs stuff, or anything that should be kept out of full public view. Also last month I started a second subreddit called /r/AVAutomation for a more platform agnostic discussion. I've been on recently and it is dead, seriously dead, which is a fairly decent loss to us AMX guys (or at least those who still haunt the place). I'm throwing this out here so that if you're an AMX programmer or Extron programmer or Control4 or whatever you do that doesn't necessarily fall under the Crestron umbrella, there's a place to discuss that and ask questions of other industry professionals. /r/AMX is a deserted wasteland and /r/Extron equally so. /r/Control4 seems to be marginally active. Unless there's somewhere else I don't know about, there's not much place for non-Crestron discussion. This is just more places to be able to reach other programmers. And technically not a forum...so, yeah. On Wed, Feb 22, 2017 at 5:46 PM, Joe Vossen jkvossen@... It'll never move, until it ceases to exist, because there's no real way to move the content that is here. If the day comes then the only real solution (IMO) would be to build a new forum from scratch which would require hosting services, board software, and a (preferably) it's own domain. All of which requires time and money. Or Crestron could be generous and create a "public" section of Labs for this to migrate to...yeah, that will never happen ?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýUgh. I hate the Facebook format.
?
The thing I love about this group is every email comes
directly to my inbox, so there's I lot I've learned over the years just "Next
unread message" even if its a thread I wouldn't have paid attention to if I had
to go into it. Plus I can just hit "Reply" and type. On the facebook groups that
I am a member of it's clumsy, easy to miss responses, etc., etc.

(or you can wait until daylight savings starts so we can synchronize our clocks once and be done with it). Who knows, down the road, we may be forced to change platforms since Yahoo is in the process of being bought out, and don't know if groups will continue down the road with new owners.? If that happens, as long as the consensus isn't to move over to some Facebook group where you need a facebook account to access, I'll be happy. -jason |
