Latest version of Samsung EXlink protocol
What I have is 5 years old. ?I have to replace a UN60ES7500 with a new UN65KS9800. ?Tried contacting Samsung tech support which resembled talking to a wall. ?All I got out of the conversation was the protocol had changed since 2012. ?They said they would initiate a request for that information and forward it to me via email. ?Checked my email and after waiting three days, they sent me a password reset. ?Anyone have the latest version. ?Actually, I only need on and off to work. everything else is handled elsewhere. ?Thanks, ?Chip |

Re: Crestron Today issues
Hi Trey
Haha, knew it would be something simple! I've never even been all the way to the bottom of the app!! Thanks for the heads up Works well now on the phone in the notification view window, but just shows "connected" on the watch with ten blue buttons - none of which show any text, icons, or push joins to the processor. Will try some more Googling and testing, at least i am 50% there now.. |
Re: Filezilla to a TP
WinSCP is much better than FileZilla. You can set up PuTTY with it, so you can use WinSCP to FTP the file to the panel and then SSH into it and load the project. Crestron - Logitech Harmony Hub Integration
Does anyone know of any drivers for integrating a Crestron system with a Logitech Harmony Hub? ?Currently I'm doing this through IFTTT but a direction connection would be a little cleaner/faster. ?I've done a google search but haven't come up with anything. ?I thought I would ask the group in case there is something I missed.

Re: Move to Pyng?
Thanks. ?I realize it was referencing pyng but it also asked for better ways of handling opening/closing of shades based on time of year and as pyng is a closed environment I figured a suggestion that incorporated code running on a separate processor that could be linked into pyng would be a welcome suggestion. For direct RS232 comm port control of specific programs such as MediaMatrix, Extron Quantum Elite, etc, we've used the Digi One SP Ethernet to Serial converters, which might be more suited to your needs. Our CP3s would talk to it as an Ethernet device and would relay serial commands to our various audio and video control server programs. We didn't really care for the Crestron TCP module so our SW programmer wrote his own. Re: Move to Pyng?
Per ? ??Scheduled events are only days of the week and not a calendar.? Currently to do something like putting shades down the sun hit a room I create 2-3 events that split the year into 3 as using only sunset as a guide does not correct for the sun position so an area may get sun early vs sunset in the summer vs winter.?? I use this often so if there is a better way to solve this problem I would be interested to learn from others.? I just recently talked about this on my blog and posted code on github that calculates the angle and elevation to the sun and then operates shades based on whether the sun is shining in the window or not. ? Windows are defined in an xml file that is read by the processor so the code knows the angle of the window for comparison with the sun angle to know when the sun is shining into the window or not.? You can find the code here ? And my blog here Jay ------ Original Message ------

Crestron Today issues
Hi all
Having some real issues with the "Crestron Today" notification view/watch widget. I have an MC3 running 1.501.0105, and the paid SG (Silver) app running on a phone and an iPad. In Simpl Windows, I've obviously got my "Crestron App Notification Widget Functions" extender added to my "Crestron App". For now, I have defined all 10 of my "item X pressed" joins, have an analog with a value of 10 going into "number of items" (this is set at boot) as well as 10 fields of text and the header going into the serial joins (again, set at boot) For now the panel layout is loaded to the iPad and the iPhone locally and the full panel works perfectly. I have routed the joins to a test page and i can see the text and the value of the analogs has been set. When i go to the notification view widget on the phone or ipad, or a watch paired with the phone, i just get "Not Configured" as the header, and on the watch, "Not Configured" along with 10 blank buttons. I read about database version being newer than 70 - I am running:- SIMPL Windows:? 4.05.04 Any ideas what I have missed?! Cheers |
Re: Move to Pyng?
Question for Chris or anybody that knows: Does Pyng consider every load on a panelized lighting system a "device", or just the modules? So in other words if you have 2 full panels with 8 full DIM8 modules would it be 16 devices, or 128 devices against the 250 limit?
---In Crestron@..., <chris.noland@...> wrote : All,? ? Some notes on my PYNG first try. ? I decided to jump into a Pyng system to try and upgrade my system¡ 6 hours in and I feel I am about 50% done.?? There is a fair amount of ¡°devices¡± with 94 showing, which with a limit of 250 they should be able to get a lot bigger but either I am really slow (good possibility) or the system has some problems.? ? ¡¤???????? D3 vs Pyng everything is a scene, I realized very rarely do I have a load go on at 100% (typically 80%) or do I only want one load to go on with a button press. ?The scene creation is on another screen and would have to go to the area then go back to the button you wanted to press ¡¤???????? Doesn¡¯t support multi press / taps ¨C important where we want to do things where 1 tap does X and 2 taps does Y.? ?(Fan control is one use case) ¡¤???????? Status lights on switches act differently.? If you have a switch that top is on and bottom if off both lights maybe on ¡¤???????? Moving from D3 to Pyng is fairly hard if you use panel lighting.? All of the modules show up to learn into the system with the serial number which I have not have found a printout in the documentation options that actually shows the serial numbers.? If Crestron would add a PYNG documentation template to D3 I think it could have made this step a lot less painful.? Considering it is still necessary to design a panel in d3 to get the loads correctly and have documentation for the electrician I don¡¯t see how this would ever go away (unless studio does is) ¡¤???????? Adding key pads with panel lighting is just as painful as they show up with serial number but no documentation exists to print.? For both the modules and keypads I had D3 and Pyng open so I could step through the serial numbers and find them ¡¤???????? Scheduled events are only days of the week and not a calendar.? Currently to do something like putting shades down the sun hit a room I create 2-3 events that split the year into 3 as using only sunset as a guide does not correct for the sun position so an area may get sun early vs sunset in the summer vs winter.?? I use this often so if there is a better way to solve this problem I would be interested to learn from others.? ? My overall thoughts are this would be ok for a customer that has never had experience with lighting control as it could be an easy way to get something in but I would not use it for panel lights and would limit to only a few dozen lighting loads.? I think the scene / load control needs to evolve before I would really want to use often.?? I was really interested in trying to get some of the other components integrated to see how it performed and get some experience with it before I sold it¡but my environment maybe just too complex and I am going to try and get a friendly user to make a minimal investment to see how it works on a daily basis. L? ? If I have missed some critical things in my integration that would have made this easier, please share your experiences as I could always try this again (when I have time again). ? Thanks ?
