If I have an Analog RAM with Store, Recall, and Select1 all set to "1" for constant store, can I route these same signals to another analog RAM (or several different ones) for the secondary ones to handle zone presets??

?Saw it, never had that issue, though.? I have a DGE-2 with V-15 running Smartgraphics in my conference room where I've been playing with it and trying to get more used to the Smartgraphics and it seems to be working just fine.??


Of course, it's being fed from a DM switcher so I just set it to HDMI in VisionTools and left it so I'm not programatically changing it.?

control of Sony KDL TVs with CBX-H11 interface

 

I have an issue controlling some Sony TVs through a DM system. Most of the TVs are Sony KDL series (KDL-32R400A, KDL-40R400A and KDL-60R550A). Since these TVs do not have RS-232 inputs, the Sony CBX-H11 was provided with the TVs to control the TVs through the HDMI port. The CBX-H11 takes in HDMI and RS-232 and send out just HDMI to the TV with the 232 embedded somehow.
Control works most of the time, but occasionally the Sony TVs cannot be powered on from the control system (there are some Sharp TVs too and those work 100% of the time). I am aware that the TVs will not accept power on when in standby. I have sent the 'standby enable' command - \x8C\x00\x01\x02\x01\x90 - to all the TVs. However, the power on command still does not work consistently. The Sony protocol document states that the 'standby enable' command only needs to be sent once and then the power on command will always be enabled. Any thoughts on this?

Am I missing something with Crestron Annotation engines (i.e. DVPHD, DGE-2) or are they really this rinky dink in their feature sets? I mean, no "Undo." No ability to save output. Pretty much, just pen width, color, and clear all. It seems to me the Boeckler Pointmaker is way more feature rich for a way less money.

I am usually embarassed when i program these systems up and hand them over to the end user during training. Its feels like a long series of "Sorry, it cant do that."

Anything else out there? This would be hooked directly to a PC and not a roundtripped signal in/out of a switcher, but that could be possible.

Pathway also makes a bunch of DIN rail DMX splitter products (I love the ETC stuff - I'm actually up at the factory now for training, but they are fairly pricy in this case). For outputting DMX, it's fairly easy to get a Crestron processor to output the DMX over Ethernet protocol called ArtNet, and there are tons of fairly reasonable ArtNet to DMX output nodes. I most recently had 16 DMX controlled LED track-lights hooked up to a PoE ArtNet node, tied in to D3Pro with some remote system logic. Worked great, fairly inexpensive (except for the LED track-lights¡­).

Also there are many companies out there that can do multi universe DMX distrobution over normal networks. We have a local one here that makes some awesome stuff. pathwayconnectdotcom they even make boxes that interface Crestron with a DMX universe very seamlessly.

There's always the option of a cheap laptop, but I'm curious if there is anything smaller and cheaper, that can run Toolbox and host a LogMeIn or TeamViewer session.? Hard-wired ethernet would be a plus.

Yes - make a sub-page for each source, and eliminate the other one-shot I mentioned.? If you take the inverted output of the one-shot you're using to show the "please wait" and use that to trigger the buffer, then the selected source page will appear as soon as the please wait message goes away.


This also assumes that you're flipping from something like a title page to a second page that hosts the "please wait" and source sub-pages.

That's 128 or 170 individually controllable load groups, not necessarily indivudual loads. Each fixture is "dumb". Its one-way communication, and will responds to values at the assigned address.

If you want all your hall lights to respond together, assign them all to the same addresses.

If, however, you want a color changing chase down the hall, you'll need to address them separately.

You must already have something like an interlock being set to track which source page the user should be brought to, correct?


So if the one-shot is causing the "please wait" page to appear, you can take that same signal into the negative-edge trigger of *another* one shot, then take the output of that one-shot and trigger the enable line of a buffer with it.? The other inputs of the buffer would be fed with the outputs of your interlock, and the corresponding outputs of the buffer would be fed to joins on the touch panel symbol matching the joins you have assigned to each device's page.
