Re: toggle buttons

Yeah you're right. In old school vt pro it has active and inactive states
and in the new core 3 hotness it has modes and technically the old school
one has modes too but if you only needed pressed and depressed then active
and inactive were simpler.

Re: Crosspoint routing - please help

Yes, Neil posted some very nice pics on how it works. I wish I would have had that when I was trying to understand them.

Just do a mock program with an xpanel or something and get to testing. Nothing like real testing to really understand it. Also, they are nothing but a virtual switcher for A,S,D signals.

Not sure about the example you listed below, but "Arrakis Multi-Zone Single-Port with Setup Pro2 Demo v2.smw" has multiple touchpanels controlling multiple Arrakis zones.

Also, I believe it was Neil Dorin who recently posted some links to really awesome pictures illustrating how this all works.

Hey guys, I know this topic has come up before, but I am really trying to get my head around crosspoint routing. Can anyone please assist me as the Crestron IPM example from Arrakis Systems DC6-1000 does not seem to contain any ecross or ccross symbols. Could someone please post an example program or point me to one that contains working ecross, ccross symbols connected to touch panels and devices. Many thanks in advance! Dave

Re: EX Nightmare over

I can't really say for the crestron dimmers, but back when I did C4 I had to leave power disconnected to certain dimmers when I was acquiring the others. What I mean is, if you have a 4 story house with a gateway on each floor and I was trying to acquire the dimmers on the 1st floor to the 1st floor gateway, I would have to kill power to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th floor dimmers until I had the whole 1st floor acquired. I would then pwr the 2nd floor dimmers and acquire those to the 2nd floor gateway and so on. So I would have to say theory #2 is probably correct. I never really analyzed it though, I just figured this is what I had to do to get it working. The one that sticks in my head was a large resi lighting job, probably about 15000 sq ft. I never really had trouble on the smaller jobs.

I am assuming that they both use similar zigbee type networks, so cordless phones, microwaves, wifi, and probably the neighbors broadcasts would screw with it when I was trying to acquire things.

Re: Trouble with direct socket connection to xbmc media server

Hi all,

I was having the same socket error -1 problem on my CP3. Tried it on my Pro2, and voila it worked.

Updated CP3 firmware... voila it worked on that. Apparently CP3 had some funky ethernet issues that were resolved... or something.

--- In Crestron@..., "floyd1212" <floyd1212@...> wrote:

Alright, I'm still having issues with this.

Last night I installed the XBMCubuntu distro on a USB stick and booted my main home machine off of that. Got it up and running, then tried to connect to it with my CP3. No go. Same socket -1 error, though I was still getting feedback, like before.

So this is a different machine running xbmc, on a different OS, on a different LAN from my office, and still having trouble.

I wiped the program out on the CP3 and uploaded a new program with just a TCP/IP symbol configured for port 9090. I was able to connect to the xbmc machine just fine with that, and I could see json strings coming back into the CP3 when I would get a video playing with my mouse. I didn't have any strings ready to send to the machine, so I couldn't test the other direction.

This would lead me to believe it isn't a network, or port, or firewall issue. Has anyone seen this working on a CP3? If so, what version of firmware?

Thanks!

Yes, your issue with battery life is due to the module you are using, I am
assuming the Crestron one. It polls the locks extremely often. These locks
give unsolicited feedback after any event. If you open the module and change
the polling of the lock as I have, once every 24 hours, simply to query the
battery life, you will see the locks last 4-5 months of average use. Then
you can just invest on two sets of rechargeable batteries.

I have also used Kwikset with Leviton Zwave controller. My issue was
battery life, it would only last 10 days. the feedback could be seen every
15s, my thought was that was causing the shortened life. I RMAs the

Please let me know if you have a hint of help on the battery life I have

Samsung controlled via ex-link messes up Apps

Hey Everyone,

I just installed my first two Samsung TV's. I recently switched to Samsung from Sharp because I got sick of trying to control the darn things. Anyway, I have an odd scenario going on.
