Re: DM-NAX-4ZSP

I recently tried this setup myself for my home.
Over the years I have not been very happy about Autonomics reliability at my client's home so I wanted to see how this would work as an alternative.
?
I use it the same way you described. I only use it as a 4 zone media player.
?
I have not used it for very long, but so far its been reliable.
I have only tried Tidal , Podcasts and TuneIn.
?
I have not used it for weeks and before writing this and tested it out and its still going.
?
I think the price point / features vs Autonomics is worth looking into.

Re: DM-NAX-4ZSP

The 6x100 is a fine amp and MUCH Simpler to deal with vs the NAX.
I would definitely use MMS units for streaming radio if it were my project.
LMK if I can help...

Re: DM-NAX-4ZSP

Ckangis,
Thanks for the reply.
The system in question uses a Crestron C2N-AMP-6x100 to distribute 4 FM-AM Tuners along with four other sources and doorbell tones to 5 areas. All in/outs are analog.?
While the DM-NAX-4ZSP appears to have may capabilities in this case I would use the 4 analog outputs (each for one of the streaming players), if that is a suitable combination.
I do not have personal experience with Autonomic that you recommended; I will explore that option.?
?
Other options or suggestions?
Many Thanks

Re: TS-xx70 Multiple IP Table Entries Issue

I¡¯m pretty sure the panel will handshake with one but not both, not really sure what you¡¯re trying to achieve by having 1 panel talking to 2 processors, or if that¡¯s even possible!?

Re: TS-xx70 Multiple IP Table Entries Issue

Is the second TP IP-ID 13 or I3?? I thought the IPIDs went from 03 to 09, then move on to 0A to 0E?

TS-xx70 Multiple IP Table Entries Issue

Got a quirk that seems to work with a 1060 but not a 770
?
I got 2 programs running on a DMPS3-150
Using 2 different IP-IDs for the same touch panel.
Program Slot 1 - uses IP-ID 03
Program Slot 2 - uses IP-ID 13
?
Touch panel IP Table would be
03 192.168.1.11
13 192.168.1.11
?
This setup works as intended with a 1060 but some elements 'disappear' on a 770.
Such as analog join 1 which is gauge defined in program slot 1 and empty in program slot 2.
So the gauge would be there and and then it would disappear.
?
Anyone have any insight? It seems that the touch panel is only binding to program slot 2.
Even though both ip tables entries would report as ONLINE on the touch panel and the processor.

Re: DM-NAX-4ZSP

What audio matrix are you currently using to distribute the existing Radio tuners?? or are they just 'hard-coded' in a one-to-one relationship with the zones.
?
If you already have some type of distribution, and you're just looking to have streaming versions of the radio stations, the NAX system is definitely not a simple solution for this.
You would be better off looking at Autonomic for either a Multi-player/single chassis solution (MMS-3e, MMS-5e) or (4) of their MMS-1e Single player units.? You could use the TuneIn radio service for their local radio lists.
?
If you need access to their products and/or assistance with integration, reach out to me directly.

Re: C9300 Multicast flooding to NVXs

Hi All,
?
Appreciate all the responses and help. Just thought I would close this off as it seems we have solved the issue. On Friday I did a span of one of the problem ports, analysing it in wireshark I could see around the time the drops occurred I could see the port receiving multicast traffic from sources it shouldn't be. I correlated that this happened when spanning tree reconverging which is strange as we were plugging in any switches or making changes here. However we did have no ip igmp snooping tcn flood enabled on the port but seems it wasn't working - seems we hit this bug even though the version we were running is not listed as effected it must have been. Upgraded to 17.12.04 and the issues seem to be resolved and also our spanning tree is no longer constantly reconverging, so perhaps we hit another underlying bug there that is now resolved.
?
Once again thanks for the help!

Re: TSW-770 now in portrait mode?

Edited

it appears to load the project into portrait mode
as the panel boots, i see the crestron logo large, then smaller, then it flips to portrait with the crestron logo with the dots below
so even the internal project is now portrait
?
1080 extender says 1 for landscape, 2 for portrait
attached to 1080 IPID, sent a 2 on extender, now TP is back to normal

Re: Floor Heating Tstat, Hi-Volt thats Integratable

Thanks, Jay. Agreed!!
?
MQSACK, That's a good suggestion, however it is similar to Crestron Din unit.
What I'm really looking for is an integratable Hi-Voltage wall mount TStat that can replace an existing unit already hard-wired in the wall.
Often we cannot easily re-wire the Hi-Volt to accommodate Low-to-High voltage interface with Crestron or other stats...
?
Thanks for all the responses!

Re: TSW-770 now in portrait mode?

?Try initialize, followed by restore.

Re: TSW-770 now in portrait mode?

Edited

LCDORIENTATION
says updating to landscape, reboot, still portrait
?
however, setting it to portrait set it back to landscape...
?
well, the ch5 project was fine, however, now it thinks it is a TSW-770P and my vtpro pj shows in a portrait window in landscape mode...
?
finally got toolbox to connect, back to landscape, TSW-770 again, project back in portrait screen

Re: Floor Heating Tstat, Hi-Volt thats Integratable

CoolAutomation GS-SMT-HOA is another option. High voltage relays right on board.
?
?
?
?
Not the least expensive option, but solid integration on the local LAN (no cloud).
?
Same dirver/ASCII codes as a Coolmaster.

Re: TSW-770 now in portrait mode?

Did you have a 1080 defined in your SIMPL program? This has a device extender to set it to portrait/landscape. Most likely that messed up the 770

No arguments on anything you are saying.? Unless you are a programmer, looking to automate existing shades on a budget that fits your salary, you are not going to to use SwitchBot products for shade automation.? On the other hand, if the customer comes to you and says, we have this awesome espresso machine.? We just love the coffee it makes.? Can you automate it so when my alarm clock goes off in the morning it automatically makes coffee?? Now your response can be - "Sure, I have this neat little device called a SwitchBot Bot.? We can use that to automate your espresso machine.? The only downside is that periodically you'll have to change the battery."? Customer is thrilled.??

For me, this isn't about replacing what Crestron can do.? It is about doing things that Crestron can't do.

I've only been on one project that didn't have a budget.? There were over 200 Crestron shades in that house.? Every other Crestron system, no matter how big had a budget and there were tradeoffs made in functionality vs cost.? It is nice to have the option of an IoT equivalent to a Crestron product to save a buck.? It may not be as nice, but it will function fine and allow money to be spent on areas where having a Crestron product really makes a difference.

Does the customer care that the Somfy shades aren't as nice?? The Somfy shades may be perfectly adequate for them even though the Crestron shades are much better.?

One last thing.? I believe that the Aqara FP2 can be mounted in the center of a ceiling where it would pretty much be invisible.?

My $.02?

My concern isn't margin (though we all love Crestron margins!!), it's that many of these products are 'consumer' in design philosophy that makes integration difficult to wilderness experiences regarding features sets that we have come to rely from companies like Crestron.
I'm working in a house that has existing? Somfy MyQ shades and we've added some Crestron shades in other rooms. Crestron shades are head and shoulders better than the Somfy (or HD) units in terms of quietness, control capabilities, Feedback (Somfy has none) and RF range this install has a LinkProZ that is? 50' away from one room of shades and its highly unreliable. I'll spend more time solving the Comms issue than its worth...
Device idiosyncrasies and the work-arounds for them are where I spend most of my time...
?
Thanks for mentioning the Aqara Presence sensors, I'm excited about the technology, and also hoping that Aqara and others will find a way to build units that look nicer for the kinds of homes that we deal with...:)

DM-NAX-4ZSP

I have a customer with a small residential distributed music system (CP3N, programmed in SIMPL) with several AM-FM radios as selectable inputs. I am looking at alternatives to off-air AM, as the quality of the AM radio reception is less than desirable even after taking extensive steps to use an outdoor antenna on an elevated mast.
I just noticed a spec sheet for the Crestron DM-NAX-4ZSP, which seems to offer four "streaming players"; as an option I could set the players to the appropriate web-addresses of the AM radio stations then use 4 analog outputs on this unit to feed to the room amps to replace existing tuners without too much trouble. Has anyone had any experience with this unit? Please feel free to chime in here with any advice, options, inquiries, etc.?
Many thanks.

Re: 4-Series Processors, SSL, and VPN connection

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Have you confirmed the correct subnet mask and default route on the processors??

If your single user VPN gets an address on the same subnet as the devices there is no routing (at least as far as the devices are concerned) so traffic would work, but if the mask is incorrect (such that the devices think something is subnet-local when it actually needs to be routed) or default route is incorrect (such that devices can't figure out how to get from a to b) it won't work for devices on another subnet

Subject: [crestron] 4-Series Processors, SSL, and VPN connection
?
Hello,
?
I have a site with two 4 series processors, one CP4n and one Zum-Hub4. Both devices have SSL enabled. One TSW-770 connects to both devices and this device also has SSL enabled. On-site, I can connect to all three devices without issue. Our office has a site-to-site VPN. From my desktop, I am able to connect to the TSW and every non-Crestron device on the AV VLAN, however, I am unable to connect to either processor. Neither processor responds to a ping, if I run a wireshark, I get no reply back from the two processors. I've also tried an SFTP connection through Filezilla (TSW no problem, processors timeout) and SSH through putty (TSW no problem, processors timeout).
?
As a troubleshooting step, we created a single user VPN. Through that I am able to connect to all the processors without an issue. The only difference we can see between the two is that the single user VPN, my computer receives an IP address on the customers network while on the site-to-site VPN, my computer keeps its IP on our network.
?
I'm curious if anybody has any insights as to why I would be unable to connect to the processors over the site-to-site VPN but have no issue with the TSW? I've checked the def router and the settings are the same on processors and TSW. I've also contacted TrueBlue and they are telling me that SSH must not be configured correctly, which I don't agree with seeing as I have no issue connecting to the TSW with SSH.
?
Any insight would be appreciated.
