Re: Crestron-controllable "virtual" Dante/AES67 matrix

You would need the Dante Director subscription for that site/domain and the Dante subnet would need access to the internet
?
FWIW - a ¡°virtual matrix¡± does work, Audinate had it running at ISE and it was remarkably fast even under the conditions - and I did a test system here in my lab during the free trial period
?
?*however* the majority of use cases out there the AVOIP subnet doesn¡¯t access the internet - you¡¯re better off just landing a local PC at the site and use controller and just land the AES67 channels on the DSP?

Re: Crestron-controllable "virtual" Dante/AES67 matrix

If you use a DSP, Tesira, Q-Sys, etc, you could control that.? Have Dante inputs go into a matrix mixer then out ot Dante outputs. You can also process signals, EQ, etc.??
I suggest Q-Sys Core Nano?

Fire TV IR Control

I am currently controlling a Fire TV stick using a FLIRC adapter within Crestron Home. Customer has requested direct Netflix and Prime buttons on his Crestron remote. Does anyone know of a way I can find these codes? When you set up the FLIRC, those buttons are not available. Unfortunately CEC control is not an option. Any help would be appreciated.

Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today

Home Assistant is an open source smart home platform that supports integration with a wide range of smart home devices.? Through the work of two Crestron programmers, a Crestron system can be integrated with Home Assistant.? My latest article provides simple instructions for integrating these two platforms using their driver that can be downloaded from GitHub.

You can find the article here:

I consider this to be a follow-up to the article I wrote back in 2020 on the integration of off-the-shelf smart home devices with a Crestron system using a Hubitat Elevation Hub as a gateway.? That original article can be found here:

For those interested in other articles that I've written for Residential Tech Today, you can find those here:

For these interested in even earlier content that I wrote, you can find it all here though older content has formatting issues due to a transfer from Google's Blogger.com to WordPress as my hosting platform.

Re: MPC-M5 control ethernet devices?

OK. After re-Compiling the original, re-saving and compiling, and after many tries, the modules are there, but the latest issue was getting an X-panel to connect.
Finally got that, but changing the proc must have changed so many things, that to chase down and fix all of them kind of defeats the purpose of using this to test off site.
A simple Mute button (in Debugger) triggers so many things totally unrelated that I don't see this being worth it.
It did warn me that there might be some programming changes, but I didn't think it would be this massive.
?
Thanks anyway (unless someone has some more hints in doing this).

Re: MPC-M5 control ethernet devices?

Thanks for responding Chris.
?
1. It's a CP4N. (sorry)
2. That far back, huh? I guess that's why there's some leftovers in the warehouse to use. Understood.
3. I do see Slot7, but didn't notice the ENET, as it was all run together. (duh, didn't look close enough)
?
4. I understand the fewer Com Ports, etc., but I'm not sure how to check on the Modules.
? ? ?Ex: I opened up the one for AJA KUMO control (Edit User Module), but see nothing in the text about what Series it's made for.
The help file for it didn't help, either.
How would I check on these?
?
The funny part is: after switching procs out in Simpl, this module is commented out ( wasn't before) and will not let me change that. It's greyed out on the Right-click.
Does this mean that it is not compatible, or something else I missed?
?

Re: MPC-M5 control ethernet devices?

Jim,
? ? Answer is "it depends"
?
1. There is no CP4E.? Are you talking about a CP2E, CP4N, or CP4?
2. MPC-M5 is a 2 series processor
3. The MPC-M5 does support ethernet control devices. In SIMPL you should see a MPCENET-1 in slot7 were all the ethernet devices go.
?
If you are going from a 4 series to a 2 series you would have to make sure any control modules you are using are compatible with 2 series and of course recompile. Of course you also have less Com ports and such on the MPC-M5.
?

MPC-M5 control ethernet devices?

I think I already know the answer to this one, but:
?
Can I easily test my program for a CP4E in a MPC-M5? (it's the only thing I have handy, as the real one is already in use onsite and I want to test my changes before going back to site to push)
I converted it, but it doesn't look right to me. I see no Slot for Ethernet devices.
?
What little info I could find on the MPC says that it is meant? for local control, and I should use it for an interface for a "full control" proc.
Can someone confirm, please?

Re: Touch panel signal type buttons

Another quick way to navigate around within Simpl signal lists or on the left program view is to hold CTRL while scrolling- it scrolls at a larger interval than regular. But yea when you are in Symbols easiest way is the ALT+ D/A/S to go between the 3 categories

Re: Sharp 4P-B86EJ2U Control

Just did one a couple days ago and can confirm the commands for power are POWR___0\x0D and POWR___1\x0D.? The ___ are 3 spaces.? The displays did not acknowledge the power off command or acknowledge the power on command, but will respond to power query after a few seconds.?

Re: TV Presets v2 not working on a fresh load

Dave, this isn't related to favorites, but can you ask what the status is of the Certified Driver wrapper for Pool/spas? I was "being worked on" in Jan of 2023 and hasn't come out. I had a case but its closed and doesn't show up in the new My Cases system.
Thank you
Jon

Re: DM-NAX and QSYS

+1 for the new firmware. Had much better luck running AES67 from NVX to QSYs.?

Re: Touch panel signal type buttons

I hate being in my late 100's and just finding out about some of these!!!...:)
Thanks, guys!!

Re: TV Presets v2 not working on a fresh load

Edited

Correct. This is found under Community's new Known Issues section as KI #0029.
Mitigation is to roll back to SG 2.17 before recompiling the .vtz/.c3p while this is being investigated.
You can click the "Follow" button to receive notifications when KI #0029 is updated.

(Sorry for delayed response... I'm less active here as I focus on Community Discussions forum & KIs)

Re: TV Presets v2 not working on a fresh load

It seems the culprit here is the version of Smart Graphics. Role back your smart graphics in VT pro and recompile.
1. Close VT Pro
2. Uninstall Smart Graphics from Control Panel
3. Download and install Smart Graphics ver 2.17.01 from Crestron ftp site.

Re: Touch panel signal type buttons

If you hold shift and click on scroll area the scroll bar will move directly there. ?There is also alt-D, alt-a, alt-s, and ctrl-g.

I have a newbie question, so please excuse me if you've heard this before.
?
In SIMPL, on the detail view of my touch panel (in this case (TSW-1070), the three signal-type buttons at the top (Digital, Analog, and Serial) disappear when I have to scroll down,
so when I have to go from a higher number than what shows in the window (already maxed out) to a similar range button in a DIFFERENT signal range, I have to scroll all the way back up, change the signal type (Ex: Digital to Analog), then scroll all the way back down.
?
I know this sounds trivial, but it sure seems like it would be a lot easier/faster if I could 'Lock' those buttons so as not to be part of the scrolling, like I can do to the top row of an Excel file.
They should be ever-present, no?
Has anyone heard of, thought of, or have an answer to this?
?
It's either "here's how to set those" or "no, you can't change them".
If it's the later: "HEY Crestron! Can you fix this?"
?
I find it hard to believe that I'm the first one to notice this...
;-)
?

Re: Construct - Error building project: dependancies not installed

rebuilt the project, make sure you have internet connection and all firewall off on your laptop.?

Re: Touch panel signal type buttons

I didn't think of that work-around.
I've been caught between mouse third-button scrolling (lots of scrolling) and moving/grabbing the slider button on the right, both of which get to be a pain.
?
I just tried the 'Home' button and it does work, so that's three methods that we shouldn't have to do, but at least they work.
?

Re: Touch panel signal type buttons

?Try these shortcuts on for size

Alt?+ D selects digital
Alt+ A selects analogs
Alt?+S selects serials
