Sorry, I misread. I like Sony TVs for Google TV experience. I love how they integrate the app into the Home Screen. You don’t have to launch the app every time you want to find content.

Apple TV is my primary option and roku is the secondary for streaming media players. Apple TV has IP control and best playback. Another option for TVs is the native interface/smart TVs. Use an earc extender to get audio back to the receiver if it is a surround zone. You just need control and the drivers should be available.?

Other than the one instance/site that I had the issue with, that started this thread I haven't had any real issues with TCP client connections. Things have been very stable on 3 and 4-series...

Note: By default, I start my TCP connections programmatically (i.e. with signal triggers not a '1') after the main program is fully started. This may contribute to more stability, though I do it only for my own feeling of wanting to stage things in an orderly manor, not because I actually found it to be required (though it may actually be...)

Since this topic is being resurrected I’d love to know people’s general thoughts on whether or not the TCP Client, along with other IP issues, has been fixed on 4-series yet.

I still have several issues with:
4-series stopping reconnecting to a port when the connection is remotely dropped even though Connect is tied to 1, requiring a reboot/restart.
4-series to 3-series inter system communication randomly failing.
4-series to TSW-x70 communication stopping.
Ethernet based CCDs that work fine on 3-series failing on 4-series.

In terms of using a S+ emulation of the TCP-Client symbol to work around some issues, is this still recommended? If so, could anyone share a S+ module that can work as a drop-in replacement for the standard TCP Client symbol?

Pretty sure you didn‘t configure the routes for all sources within all mediazone. You need to tell Home which source is on?

which input of the NVX, which TV or projector is connected to which NVX output. Maybe differently which route should

audio go if it needs to be different. That can be pretty irritating the first time and with some setups.?

Yes, I believe that is all set up correct. I’m starting to wonder if it’s an IGMP issue. I’m running an older x440 g2 on older firmware. I’ve enabled IGMP and the quierer but I’m not confident it’s running as it should. I’ve got a netgear 4250 on order. ?If IGMP is not running as it should im
just wondering if the processor isn’t establishing the right connection with the NVX units. ??

Going to go for easy low hanging fruit since with CH that's usually the case.? Since you can make the route with the web UI that leads me to believe that the route is not completely defined in CH.? If you go to the routing tab and the room that is not working if you click on the HDMI out of the D30 is the displays HDMI input shown on the right?? If not then CH does not know where to send the video after the D30 and the route won't happen.? Just click on the D30 output and select the input of the target display.

Unfortunately im controlling faders, mutes, and aux levels so i was looking for something that included level feedback since the end user will be using our touch panels for control through the crestron to the mixer and an iPad for direct control of the mixer. Thanks for the strings though Steve.

This is a related problem, but not the same... however I think this solution may work for 4 series too. In a 3-series I have the same "Link Lost" problem with the communication with a HomeworksQS system. We install this kind of configuration in almost all of our projects and never happened to us before. What other behaviours I notice are:

1. After uploading program it works fine.
2. If I reboot the system, the Link Lost appears and the communication can't be reestablished until I upload program again.
3. If I connect to the CP3N just before the program starts, when it does the connection is successful and about the time some touch panels reports themselves in the console, I got the Link Lost.
4. We have a very similar problem with CP4N, but in that case, we can reboot the system and it works.
5. It works flawlessly in a 2-series.

So, the workaround I found is to wait 60s to establish the communication after the reboot. What I think is happening (at least in the 3-series) is that the system does some initial tasks with the TCP stack that breaks this older kind of connections, so the idea is to wait until everything is done and then connect the third party system. I use a simple delay in Simpl, between the signal that establish the communication and the TCP Client. Try that with your 4 series system, and let us know if it works.

The NVX and NAX streams are passing through the next work just fine. Extreme x440 G2 switch.? ? IGMP is doing what it should be doing. The problem is simply the D30 stream location won't change when changing the media source.? (basically switching from one E30s input to another E30's input).? I can go into the D30 gui and manual switch it, just can't get the processor to do it.?

What should I tell to get and what has Ip control? I know Nvidia shield and Flirc works but has basic control.

Yes you are correct here. That is the traditional RS adapter. And I know they still work as we had a Jandy system last year where we added one of those in as we had one left over and it worked fine.?

Long time Crestron commercial dealer here. Building a new home and am currently staging my personal residential system prior to move on. Never tackled a CH system before. Everything is working beautifully except for one little detail with major implications. ?When switching media sources the system does not process it. Running a MC4-r with E30’’s, D30’s and 8zsa. Everything seems to be configured. As needed. ?I can manually switch the routing in the D30 GUi. For some reason though the stream location in the receiver just does not update the stream location when the media source is switched via tsr 310 or CH app. Anyone experience something like this. The only thing that makes sense is the mc4-r isn’t configured correctly so isn’t sending the proper commands but i seriously can’t see where I’ve misconfigured it. My other thought is maybe it’s a network issue. I’m using a cheap firewall while waiting for a new Fortigate 70F to arrive. ?The D30 is subscribed to the multiple E30’s. This is why in the D30 routing table I can manually change the route and the source switches. I just can’t get the control processor to do it ??♂?. Seriously stumped.?
