Re: DSC PowerSeries Neo
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThis isn't something that bothers me but for those that want to
create a perfect copy of the standard ELK keypad in crestron I
believe, if memory serves me correctly, that there are a few
things you can't implement in a way that exactly matches the
keypad.? For example, I don't believe the chime and bypass keys
are included in the modules but they exist on the keypads.? I also
don't think the * and # keys on the keypad have equivalents in the
modules.? There is certainly the ability to bypass zones in the modules but
it is implemented differently on a keypad.? So, I believe the functionality you need is all included in the modules.? But if you are trying for perfect emulation of a keypad it isn't quite the same. Jay On 1/24/2024 7:59 AM, ckangis wrote:

Re: weather conditions trigger
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýSnowing No, Raining Yes.? The rain sensor on the tempest is haptic so it can't detect the sound of snow hitting it.? The only snow sensors I'm aware of are those that are sold with driveway/pathway ice melt systems.? They consist of a moisture sensor and a heating element.? The heating element melts the snow and the moisture sensor can then detect it.? You need to couple this with an outdoor temperature sensor to differentiate whether the moisture detected is from rain or snow. Hope this helps Jay On 1/24/2024 1:43 PM, ckangis wrote:
Jay, Does the WF unit/modules give local weather triggering, like 'its snowing'?? |
Re: Savant 2N with Crestron
Has anyone actually tried it ie getting the firmware link off the 2n website and uploading it to the hardware ? I too was told by Axis support that you cannot reflash it to get back to the "standard" version which includes the Crestron RAVA stuff. I don't believe there's any special "Crestron" version. OP |
Re: weather conditions trigger
If you want hyper local weather conditions l highly recommend the weatherflow tempest smart weather system. There are free modules on my GitHub? Hope this helps? Jay On Wed, Jan 24, 2024 at 12:13?PM Avtar <djdimensions@...> wrote:

Re: weather conditions trigger
Use the Creston Weather module, in the touchpanel interface module, either use the text string out or the current icon mode out to drive your logic.?

Re: Xpanel web conversion tool
Load the SG XPanel Web project to the processor from VTProE or Toolbox first. (While you can run XCT with Source=Local, Destination=ControlSystem there are undocumented steps needed to make that work. At the end of the day it's just easier to follow the workflow I described above.) |
Re: DSC PowerSeries Neo
That's good news, assuming the new modules are at least as robust as the old ones - and they're not "Crestron Home only" :-)

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýWell, they are restricted - that?s the reason why they are cheaper. You get what you pay for. ? Cheers, Thorsten ? ? Von: [email protected] <[email protected]> Im Auftrag von johnh via groups.io ? Not possible. We had this same situation this past year as our sales guys ordered them thru Savant because they were a bit cheaper. Well after many calls with tech support I was told you cannot flash them to the Crestron firmware they are stuck on Savant. Of course it seems like BS as we all know it really shoulld be possible, but support says they dont offer a way to do it.? |
Re: DSC PowerSeries Neo
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýJust spoke with Elk last week about the new EZ panel/system. They are actively working on integration modules and they should be released right around the time the panel ships.? On Jan 24, 2024, at 8:40?AM, johnh via groups.io <johnh@...> wrote:

Re: DSC PowerSeries Neo
CK I was recently evaluating an Elk M1 Gold as a replacement for our security installs. Once I got past the few initial hurdles integrating it with Crestron it seemed to work flawlwssly for me. Yea the modules are as old as dirt, but sometimes its better that way- simple and it works.? The new EZ alarm panel theres no integration for it yet that I know of.?
