Thanks Lincoln.? Both the processor and my laptop are on the same wired network? (no WiFi involved) and same VLAN.?

Thanks again

As I said earlier in the thread, I have SETLOGOFFIDLETIME set to infinite.? Is there another console command that I'm not aware of that will fix this?

Only once or twice in all these years I have been able to get debugger to run for more than a handful of hours. Probably was a 2-series. On these 3 and especially 4 series even with the idle time set to infinite and even watching only a small amount of signals, debugger will always find a way to just stop on its own. Its unreliable for anything after 15 mins or so.?

Re: Nest Thermostat control?

Apparently there’s a module now from Intersystems that somebody has already tested and it works. It’s available both for CH and SIMPL. Only problem is that the set up with google is really cumbersome as it takes something like 50 steps to have it up and running connected to the Crestron processor. I downloaded the module for CH but still haven’t taken the courage to test it :)

You do need to enable the API (I forget what ys labeled in the menu..."network remote" or something along those lines) on each device you want to control, including the minis.?

From there just point the module at the Mini's IP address and it should just work -- I've been controlling various generations of TiVo and Mini in my home system for over a decade and it is refreshingly reliable and consistent (I only wish the box could give feedback, e.g. what is currently being played/status, via it's protocol but alas...

My latest article is the second in a three part series on the resilient smart home.? The first article focused on making the smart home systems in a home resilient to natural disasters, and other events, that can impact the ability of the homeowners and their family to live in their home.? This second part in this series of articles focuses on making other systems in the home resilient.? The final article in this series will focus on leveraging smart home technology to avoid having issues in your home and, again, leveraging smart home technology to minimize the damage to a home when an issue occurs.
