Re: combine serial strings to a single string

Use an analog to serial. You will probably need to take your three analogs to equ's then to init's to get them to values the atos wants to see.

Re: combine serial strings to a single string

it need it to be a sting value to send.? you a div mod and some logic I can get the whole value and the remainder as seperate strings and just need to output those 2 strings + 1 a fixed string decimal point.? ? String 1, String 3 ".", string 2.? example? ? 70 "." 8 would be combined to create 70.8

Re: Bond Bridge

Hello Jay, final got some time to try this out.? Simple fireplace On/Off.? I put the IP address into module and local token key from the Bond settings. Is there anything else that I need to do to have this work?? I noticed that there was a S# zip file.? Do I need to do something with those?

Re: PC Monitoring

Yes this option works and you've to make changes for welcome screen password too. And put your specified application to auto start also.?

It might be even better to attach the PC to a UPS and install UPS communication software on the PC.

So once the power is cut, the PC will run on battery power and survive a couple of minutes (depending on size of the UPS battery) and then do a controlled shutdown if the power is cut for a longer period of time.

Once the UPS is back on power, it will power the PC as well and (based on the settings Michael mentioned below) it will boot up again.

Is this a computer that doesn't power itself back on after a power failure?? If so, maybe this is the bigger picture problem.

That's usually a setting you can change within the computer's BIOS and probably not within Windows... most PC's will have some BIOS "Setup" screen that you can get into immediately upon boot (usually it's F1, F2, Esc, Tab, F10, Del, or some other hotkey) and then, within those menus, is the setting that tells the computer what to do when first powered (the choices are either stay off, turn on, or resume last state when power lost).? More often than not, the default is "stay off".

Once you do that, there's a sizeable selection of products out there that can automatically ping computers, and cycle their power if the pinging stops working, if you can safely assume that cycling the power doesn't simply shut the computer off.? Also, Windows might not respond to pings unless you change a setting in Windows firewall to allow it (the ping response might be called "ICMPv4 Echo")

Re: PC Monitoring

I will have to check if the setting is available. I thought it was but wasn't sure where to look.

This is all valuable information.

Thank you.

Re: PC Monitoring

There are frequent power outages so I want to put a UI message for someone to reboot it and send me an email.

There is a dedicated software that runs 24/7 that it might be good to restart after reboot. Or know if it has crashed.

Re: PC Monitoring

Are you looking to establish whether the PC (or a specific application on the PC) is responsive, or whether the PC has simply been powered off by the user?? What do you want the behavior to be, if the PC is frozen, or installing updates, or is waiting for someone to log in? (as examples) or if the program that the PC is dedicated to running 24x7 (assuming this is the case) has crashed or been closed?? -- all of these would guide the best strategy on how to monitor it.

PC Monitoring

I need to monitor a Windows PC for its power state so I can throw an offline page on a UI and send an e-mail.

I'm assuming I just need to set up a TCP Client for it and watch it's connection status. Static IP and port 80 is what I'm thinking.

I already know the logic flows for what I need to do, just not sure if that connection manner would be correct or consistent.

Anyone ever do this or have any ideas?

Re: combine serial strings to a single string

What are you sending the string to?

Sean Brosnan at Carestream?

Does anyone know this programmer, or how to reach him?

I'm trying to find the program for an old system that has his name in the
comments...

Thanks in advance.

Re: combine serial strings to a single string

Otherwise, if you're looking to do more than just displaying the temperature on a SG button...
I'd probably use SIMPL+ to perform ITOA conversions and serial concatenations.

Here's an example of string concatenation to create scrolling text with adjustable speed.

Re: combine serial strings to a single string

Sounds like you want to use Dynamic Analog Text on a button to display a TSTAT temp value?
You would specify something like %3.1f to display a 720d as 72.0.

Fios Back Button - VMS1100 vs. VMS4100 IR function

Hi All,
Anyone get reports of an issue with the Back(Prev) button and the VMS4100???
My IR code set that works great with the VMS1100 works fine with the 4100 except for the Back button. It generally does nothing.
This is an issue as it is the way my particular client skips back 30-60-90 sec, etc. on a show...

I'm going to call Fios but I just wanted to see if anyone has experienced this...
I'm using the "Verizon P265.ir?" driver from the files section

Re: combine serial strings to a single string

Serial Concatenation
I made one that also adds the delimiter of choice

Re: Crestron Home

This is the way. Both ports. Separate the AES67 from control. Sonos and control on the same VLAN as the CHome processor.?

That¡¯s one of the best parts of how Crestron implements the dual ports on the NAX.
By default, port 1 is the discovery/control port, and port 2 is the AES67 streaming port.
CH will discover it on the main VLAN while the NVX/NAX can stream on the AV VLAN.
Just don¡¯t plug in both ports until you have them configured for dual mode.

Also, the control port is where AirPlay lives, so that should be on your client VLAN.

Good Luck,
Brian

Re: CHV-TSTAT Cresnet Issue

Take the tstat to the rack and connect locally and see if boots normally with a shorter/different cable.

Actually would be easier to just swap another tstat and see if the ¡°new¡± one boots normally or also has issue

Re: CHV-TSTAT Cresnet Issue

If you've tested for shorts on the cable, I think your best bet is to find a used unit on ebay...you'll definitely pay the same/more to have it repaired (Not including your time to process everything...)
