Re: Smart Graphics with Crosspoints
Crosspoint is a best practice. Its better to pass all the signals from the Crosspoint in order to avoid any confusion. And if you don't use Crosspoint then you just need to change the logic of the pages, i.e. just rename the pages signals and the functional/operating signals will remain the same for all the touch-panels. Hope this works.

Smart Graphics with Crosspoints
Hey Everyone,
I am programming a project with multiple touchpanels and a lot of sources so I decided to try my hand at Crosspoints. I pretty much get the jist of how it all works but I'm curious if anyone knows about this. I ran all my TP joins(all panels driving identical signal names) through a CCP to an ECP and to my driver for a bluray player. Compiled and no error for previously defined driving source. I then have all my Smart Graphics(D-pad, List also all panels driving identical signal names) going to the ECP directly. Compiled and no errors again. But I expected to get errors on that based on not routing through the CCP first. I have all my ECCCs in place so I'm sure things will connect properly but I won't be able to load and test the program for a while and I don't want to waste time programming incorrectly. All that being said, my question is Does anyone know if it is required for Smart Graphic signal names to be routed through the CCP as well? |
Re: Starnge problem of iptable with CEN-GWEXER.....
I just found that article on Crestron website that looks to explain exactly what you are talking about right ? Will try tomorrow as now I'm no more on site and report result ;) ³Õ¾±²Ô³¦¨¨²Ô

Authentication where ? in processor or the device CEN ? or both ? you speak about the new security settings where you define login/pass with rights ? do I have to use same at both ends ? Thanks ³Õ¾±²Ô³¦¨¨²Ô

Re: GE Interlogix NX-8E NX-584 Zone transition message issues - Did I really find the fix?
Yeah, I'm still running this dinosaur of a security panel because it otherwise works so well, and isn't worth trying to replace :)
The way I see it, there's room to pass way more than 8 notifications per second on a 19200 bps connection (if 19200 bps is 1920 byte per second, each notification is 16 bytes max, with a 5 byte acknowledgment... theoretical maximum of passing over 90 notifications per second) The full theoretical maximum is constantly achievable on dedicated microcontrollers, but is only wishful thinking on full size CPU's running full OS's when burdened with other tasks.? On a shared OS, you start to feel like 8 messages per second is saturation :) There are probably numerous instances where using an Arduino (or any PLC or microcontroller) to broker a connection between Crestron and another device would provide improvements (most noticeably, snappy timing and responsiveness!), and would simplify programming and offload timing-sensitive processing away from the Crestron processor.? I wish it were more popular, more supported, more the norm. |
Starnge problem of iptable with CEN-GWEXER.....
Hi
?
It has been a while I have not played much with Crestron stuffs and so a little rusted so I guess my problem is probably missing a stupid little detail :-D
I encounter a very strange and ennoying issue on a system I'm working on. ?
We have some MC4 (fw 2.8003.00037), some NVX devices (on a dedicated network (netgear) for it properly linked to main network for control), and some?CEN-GWEXER (fw 1.4469.00024) (rest of devices not yet installed).
?
We have started to write the program and so it adds in IP table of MC4 link for each device as usual. For NVX devices we have no problem, IP table entries corresponding shows up as online and keeps being online. For the CEN-GWEXER no way to keep them online. On CEN-GWEXER itself it never shows up online in iptable. On MC4 it shows up online, then offline than comes back online every few seconds nearly and flip-flop all time.
?
We have double-cheked IP of devices to avoid any IP conflicts, checked also the IP Table both in processor and in CEN-GWEXER for any possible errors, changed IP of CEN-GWEXER but still same problem.
?
The network itself is done with Unifi system and uses the class 172.16.0.X mask 255.255.252.0 which is standard and all Crestron devices have fixed IPs. No filtering exists in Unifi network, just a basic setup and shared with the other AV devices.
?
We have also resetted one CEN-GWEXER to try but no changes.
?
Any idea what can be the problem ? can it be related with new security/login things in Crestron devices/processors and if so how can we fix it ? as we are unable in the IP table to indicate login/pass to use (fields are grayed).
?
Thanks for your ideas, suggestions ³Õ¾±²Ô³¦¨¨²Ô |
Re: Any suggestion Swamp24x8 replacement with CrestronHome
I'm pretty sure Autonomic is compatible with Crestron Home, although I've only used it with Simpl.

Re: GE Interlogix NX-8E NX-584 Zone transition message issues - Did I really find the fix?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýA blast from the past¡ Hi Mike, Around 2008 I wrote my own module that could run in transition mode. I saw the specific case you mention during Disarm On Entry where the Disarm command took a while to get through. What I observed, on both the NX-8E and the NX-584, was that the device was sending a constant stream of messages (up to 8 per sec), a combination of zone, partition, and system status. I did not find a way to throttle it. I considered the behavior a defect in the device (not the first one related to the serial protocol), so I changed my command retry algorithm for this one command. I made the timeout shorter and added more retries. That got the command through within albeit not always as fast as a use might expect. In debug and test of this issue I never saw the device stop responding. It just appeared to be busy sending messages unnecessarily fast. If you see it stop responding for a period its likely due to waiting for an ack, and as you note you can¡¯t send it anything else when it expects an ack. You solution finds a window in which you can get the disarm command in. Nice. ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Michael Caldwell-Waller

Best I can tell it is a board that other people say they try that implements this protocol as a separate board. I am also only using the NX-8E serial port for testing this, and do not use the 584.? |
Re: Any suggestion Swamp24x8 replacement with CrestronHome
The above suggestions are good, but not compatible with Crestron Home, as far as I know.? The only non-Crestron matrix that I have found to work with CH is AV pro edge.? They have a 12x12 AC-AEX-RC-HUB, that is ok (you may have to attenuate the sources).? They also have the AC-MAX-24 24x24 matrix, we have tested this in house but not deployed yet.? These do not have amps built in, I'm not aware of anything that works with CH that is one solution.?

Re: Any suggestion Swamp24x8 replacement with CrestronHome
My favorite non-Crestron multi-zone amp is the Autonomic M801e. It integrates very well with Crestron, is reasonably-priced, and sources connected to one amp can be streamed over the network to other amps.

Second favorite would be the AudioControl "Director" (M Series) models, or the 70-Volt CM models. I've integrated both in recent projects with good results. Of course, if budget isn't an issue, the NAX is the way to go. The least-expensive solution would be to grab a SWAMP off Ebay. I thought the high demand to replace old units would drive the prices up, but they're still surprisingly cheap. --- On Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 8:08 AM, johnh wrote: |
