Re: EISC from one Pro4 to many CP4N's with the same IPID

Edited

EISC is one to one not one to many. Why not just use an ipid per processor?

EISC from one Pro4 to many CP4N's with the same IPID

Hi All,

I'm trying to get this working where my Pro4 has, for now, a bunch of channel labels that I want any of the 50+ CP4N's to access to update the buttons on the local touch panels in the rooms.

Attempt 1 Regular EISC:
  • Pro4 EISC at IPID FD with 127.0.0.1 as the IP
  • All the CP4N's at IPID FD with the IP of the Pro4, 10.100.96.10
  • Pro4 side would never show as online and signals never pass
Attempt 2 EISC Server/Client:
  • Pro4 EISC Server at IPID FD with 127.0.0.1 as the IP
  • All the CP4N's have EISC Client at IPID FD with the IP of the Pro4, 10.100.96.10
  • Both processors show as online at IPID FD, and the signals pass fine, but I keep getting an "Update request from Slot-023.IP-ID-FD in Program 01" message like every second on all processors, causing a big lag in touch panel control.
What is the best way to accomplish this?

Charles

Brian,

Can¡¯t explain your issues but the Rack Build seems on point, from a temperature control perspective.

Good Luck

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

Yes, there is a TSTAT in the rack reading 74 degrees, and it controls the mini-split unit.
They had originally supplied the unit from a shared condenser, and we received temp warnings because it was in heat mode for the winter.
So, it has its own outdoor unit now.

Also, the rack is enclosed with intakes on the bottom and fans to expel heat from the top.

It's just kind of crazy that 6 of the 7 363 cards had just the username and password reset.
I don't even think that a console initialize would reset just the UN and PW.

NVX frame rates

Just another quick NVX question.

As far as I can tell NVX only has integer frame rates. Eg 24p and 60p. It doesn¡¯t seem to be able to output 23.98 or 59.94 frame rates. That means it has judder when playing a 23.98 input

Am I missing something. ??? Hopefully I am wrong.

Heat is always an issue.? That said, there is heat and then there is pant on fire.

?

Have you deployed any active cooling?? Do you have proper build distribution to funnel

The heat In and Out of the Rack?? ?As we all know, heat rises.? If you have adequate inlet and outlet vents

In the right places, the rack can cool without active cooling.? This naturally assumes you don¡¯t have a tube or Class A

Amp cooking the rest of your gear.

?

We typically utilize active cooling, at the very top of the racks, and also utilize variable speed fans with a T-Stat.?

This also assumes that there is enough $$$ in your build budget to get the job done more-better. ?

Do you think heat could be a factor in the rack which is hard to access ?

Re: NVX Weirdness

Heat could always be a factor, but we haven't received any heat alarms from any of the network devices installed there.
Also, the closet has its own mini-split.

The chassis power supply could definitely be a possibility, though.

NVX Weirdness

Just wondering if anyone else has seen anything like this?

DM NVX chassis with 8 cards installed, with all NVX cards on the same firmware ... 7.1.5259.00030.

Everything has been working fine for 6 months.
All of a sudden, 6 of the 8 cards are showing that they are in "First Boot" mode.
Here's the strangest part, the only thing that has been initialized is the login.
Every other setting is still completely intact ... hostname, IP info, multicast setup, input routing, EDID, etc.
There is a director in the system, but I don't think that it can just reset the username and password.
Once I setup the login credentials again, everything is back online with the director and working as it was before.

This isn't in a rack that is easily accessible by people.
It is in a hidden closet in a residential installation, so reset from the chassis isn't a concern either.

TB is completely baffled, as am I.

As a precaution, I'm going to script some new firmware, but I just wanted everyone to be aware.

Re: restaurant reservations with Crestron

Dodged a bullet there, showed owner TablesReady software @ $50 monthly takes care of all his needs for reservations and remote contact of customers. Now onto audio system.

Thanks for all the input.

Re: Find a rouge parameter in a simpl program

Awesome. Glad it worked for you.

Re: current lutron modules

They used to be on the Application Market but they are no longer there (only the other systems are there which is odd...). If you have a Lutron login you can get them from their hub and it lets you get the r04 version.

There are r05 versions out there too- I was given a couple of the modules from one of the guys at Control Concepts. It had fixes to issues I had found on several sites. It was just for the Dimming Load Control, Dimming Load Parsing, and Shade modules. I dont want to share those without their permission though. I think some of them are in this group though and if they give the blessing then I'll post them up.?

Also I wonder if the admins here have an issue with us adding the r04 QS modules to the files section. Seems something many people ask for. I think just because you arent a Lutron dealer doesnt mean you shouldnt have access to the Crestron modules...

Re: current lutron modules

Link link from Control Concepts site didn't work for me. So they sent me the latest which is R04.?

I'll send it to you.

Re: Find a rouge parameter in a simpl program

Alex,

F9 & replace with an empty parameter worked a treat as the process will fail and brings up the Replace Substrings dialog with a Warning - Could not replace Parameter Zone_href_ID on Symbol: S:x.x.x.x.x
So that enabled me to track down the rouge ID's.
Thanks

Re: current lutron modules

Yes I should have specified. ?I¡¯m after the QS modules.?

My thinking is that custom programming this app with Crestron would cost about 10% more than buying a system designed for the purpose...
i.e. if the Res.System costs $ 6000 my estimate would be $ 6600. if it cost 10000 my estimate would become $ 11000...:)

Re: current lutron modules

Are you looking for QS or QSX modules...they're VERY different!...

Re: restaurant reservations with Crestron

Not familiar with the exam similarity but having a meeting with owner tomorrow and will suggest a third party product for reservation.?
