Re: Apple TV Select Button
I realized when I went to test this weekend that I learned an old Toshiba DVD player driver (because it's a rare code set) to all my Apple TV's so I did not have the reported issue at all after updating.? The only issue I've ever experienced with learning another IR code set is that the transports get a little wonky on some apps but I can't say that I've noticed it on anything recently.

Re: OT: Audio for Flex/Zoom Rooms
Shure P300 is only really good for very small rooms.? It's more of a usb sound card with a little bit of processing rather than a full blown Dsp.? Good for a small conference space but I wouldn't attempt any kind of room linking with it.? Way too limited.?
QSC is by far and away the best and most capable dsp on the market.? Be it a Core110f or a Core 8 Flex.? Depending on the amount of IO you need. Aside from QSC, you could also look at the Biamp Tesira range.? Again, depending on the amount of IO you need (analogue IO I mean) you can either look at the Tesira Dan range or even the X400/800 range.? Side note with the Tesira...? The larger Tesira Forte models (older range) have much older usb hardware and as such, don't support some of the USB control comms with the UC device.? Meaning, you won't have programming access to usb mute, volume, on/off hook functions.? The newer X400/800 models do support these features.? If you need that.? It's quite handy to show mic mute states on ceiling mics or touchpanels when someone presses.mute in Teams or Zoom etc.?? My strongest advice, is to stay as far away as possible from the Clearone Converge 2 range.? You can pick them up at reasonable prices but there is a good reason for that.? Nobody wants them.? I've made it pretty clear to my superiors that the next one I see on a job will be taken home with me and thrown in to my fire pit at home.? WORST DSP on the market.? Even worse than BSS Soundweb Bottom line,? QSC - run towards.? Clearone - run far far far away.? . |

Re: Pro2 Pro3 power supplies
You can go to Amazon, get a nice MeanWell 240w 24VDC DIN power supply and power the unit via the Crestnet port. ?If the card cage is empty it will tuck right inside that space. ?If you want to get extra fancy it will fit inside the chassis in the same location as the old power supply. ?During the great processor recession I¡¯ve had to revive quite a few units that I would have otherwise upgraded or replaced and this MW unit works great and has proven very reliable. ?This is the way.

Re: Apple TV Select Button
Something I¡¯ve been doing for years with AppleTV is to just use a generic Sony BluRay for my IR codes then going into the AppleTV settings, remotes and devices then learn remote. ?You than then teach the ATV a nice extended control set that works perfectly. ?The upside to this is that if a random iOS update changes functionality then worst case you just relearn the remote instead of reloading the processor. ?

When sending IR out of the Endpoint, it was sending commands for about 2 sec.Interesting, I had a project recently that used an 8x8 that we updated to the latest FW. We had an LG TV. I started out using the LX series driver from the CresDB, which I've used a number of times before with no issues... Since this TV needed VOL+/- and Mute toggle, We immediately saw that triggers, even button pulses on the HRs and from DBug) would always drive the IR for 2sec. No issue directly on the CP3 IR ports, only the RMC-100-C. Other Drivers (Samsung, Sony) had no issue, so it was something specific to the LG driver AND the RMC...Weird!!! FTR, this isn't the issue with the Apple TV, which has worked on many systems correctly and just started exhibiting this behavior... |
Re: Apple TV Select Button
Well, I didn't have THAT issue...
However, Earlier this week we added a new ATV to an older DM32x32 system. When sending IR out of the Endpoint, it was sending commands for about 2 sec. I really didn't want to Update the firmware, as it's getting Fragile as it is. I changed the CrestronDB AppleTV (4gen) file by selecting all commands and Converting them to "Pulse Only" (and saving as my own). and it's working like a charm now. |
