Re: Factory Defaut TS-1070

Do I need to wait for the Crestron logo that has the "dots" or can I reset on the first logo I see? I did this for almost 15 minutes yesterday before just giving up. Possibly the biggest waste of time on a touch panel ever, and that's saying something.

Re: Factory Defaut TS-1070

It could be like Extron too, one is a reboot, two is clear project, three is whatever.? Do a press and then click five times for factory reset or something like that.? It's pretty stupid the way it is now.

Re: Factory Defaut TS-1070

Just did this yesterday with a tech.? Press the reset button in the pin hole on the back until the screen goes black, release.? Once you see a Crestron logo on boot, repeat 10 more times for 11 total.? Wait for it to boot and it will go into a recovery screen with a button to factory reset.? It took him a couple of tries to get it right.? Note to Crestron, this is absurdly complicated.? A 30 second hold on the reset button like every other device made is adequate.??

Re: Recover programs

I'm not sure what you mean by an accident.? Did you delete them, or did you run the drive over with a car?? There are free undelete programs out there and other services.? Is this a mechanical drive that won't spin up?? Put it in the freezer for a few hours, I've done that many times and recovered gigabytes of data.? There are lots of methods, depending on the scenario.? Recuva and PhotoRec are good tools.? PhotoRec will work on corrupted drives.??

I believe you get 2 tries to take it. Then you have to contact them to take it again. At least that's the way it was years ago when I took it.

I was looking into the 201 course, but it looks like the first step is a 1 hour multiple choice exam.? I was thinking of taking it just to see if I'm anywhere near ready, but are there some sort of parameters to it?? Thanks.

Re: Factory Defaut TS-1070

Has it decreased to 10 resets?? I thought it was 11.? Unfortunately this is the only way.? Good luck - I've had panels that still refused to factory reset this way.

Does anyone know the manual method for defaulting these panels?

Touchpanel no longer accepting credentials even though I am certain they are correct. Now I need to factory default it manually but not clear on how to do it. A google search mentioned pulling power on the panel 10 times in a row, once the Crestron screen gets to the cycling dot portion.

I think that will take me about 20 minutes at the rate it boots and have to think there is another way. TIA

Re: Recover programs

Maybe. If the programs are for 3 (and maybe 4, never looked) series you can recover the .lpz program from the processor. Then, if you're really lucky, when you compiled it you had simpl set to add the program's archived zip to the .lpz at compile time. At that point you can open the recovered .lpz with 7-Zip and extract the archive and you're back in business.

Re: Recover programs

Not unless it¡¯s stored on the processor if it¡¯s only the compiled files then your out of luck. Check the files using the file viewer in Toolbox.?

Re: Recover programs

If you have "Create archive and embed into compiled program" set in SIMPL, then you can for 3 and 4 series. It will be on the processor in the App** dir as a zip file.

If that's not set, there's now way to recover it from the processor.

Re: Recover programs

Only if you were putting the archive on the processor.

It's a setting in Simpl that needs to be enabled to auto archive the program to the processor when you load a program.

Sorry for your loss!

Re: Global Cache / Poly Eagle Eye IV

I got this resolved, but I also noticed that the web interface parity setting for the iTach does not match the telnet interface setting.

Yes, I've set the iTachs to 9600/8/E/1.

Re: 8G cable for NVX

Edited

No problem. NVX can even run on Cat5e so you have more than enough...
I had a grounding issue with using unshielded Cat6 and a POE switch (Injector/power supply) early on. Had to ground the remote units locally - PITA
So unless you need the 8G cable for something else, use that if you plan to power them from a POE+ switch

If you need to reterminate the 8G, I HIGHLY recommend looking at the Belden REVconnect system.
Its the only thing we use for all RJ terminations now and with shielded, Its even a bigger advantage...unless you really enjoy terminating the Crestron Cat7A connectors...HaHa!
Here's the STP termination process:

Here's the easiest source to buy the REV product:

8G cable for NVX

My current DM system is now starting to show it's age.
My house is currently wired with CAT6 & DM-8G cable.
I'm planning on using the 8G infra-structure for NVX as re-wiring is simply not an option in my 110yr old house.

Anyone done this already?
Anyone see any potential issues?

Thanks?
