Re: SONOS and NAX audio zone grouping in Crestron Home
#crestronhome
#sonos
You can create Busses or Bridge Zones in the NAX if you wanted to. Or via the Multicast input routing create one that way as well. WIth a single fader that controls all zones or have individual volumes like Home OS does.?

Re: Planar VC9 module/commands
#crestron

Late to this party, but did you end up getting anything written for the VC-9. ?We have a VC4 that we are getting ready to do, and would rather not start from scratch. ?It seems RS232 over IP is the way to go, but no Crestron "application" available for it. ?Any help would be appreciated.

Compiled Ipad Interface file , generating editable vtp project
I have compiled ipad file that i need to edit, does anyone know of a way to convert it into vtp file so I can edit it.? I know a while back I did this with a regular touchpanel file , wasn't perfect but at least I was able to fix and use.??

Re: FYI: New Sonos Device Module v3.2.1
I would definitely report the need for source select FB, that's a no-brainer!
I'll try to test the restart over the next few days (swamped at the moment) as I would love this to work. As you mentioned, it may be the S1 not being fully supported... Currently I run a completely separate slot program so that when I determine that the Sonos system is off line, I reboot the slot, instead of the whole main program...Totally ridiculous!... |
Re: FYI: New Sonos Device Module v3.2.1
Thanks Chris,
So I gave it a whirl. Line-In: Select works, but no feedback from the Sonos through the module. So although you can now select line-in from Crestron (which is so welcome), selecting Line-in on the Sonos app means there is no way to pass this back to the control system. This is a shame and hopefully one that Crestron/Sonos will address. It's also a shame that when line-in is selected, Sonos does not pass out an image url for the line-in. It would be brilliant if the NowPlayingImageURL displayed the line-in icon as the app does. I was not able to test HDMI as my Sonos does not support it but I will update a system on site and try it out. Restart: Well, this did not work for me. Module indicates the player has gone offline. Sonos System v3.1.1 Busy & Discovering_Groups goes high but it never completes. These outputs eventually go low, then the cycle repeats but the player never comes back online. Now this may be an issue with my S1 Sonos Connect, so again will test on-site with a Port. Conclusion: Some improvements and the source switching is very welcome but needs feedback. Will require further testing in the real world. |

Re: Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today
Nice article Jay!
Proper system engineering and documentation is frankly lacking in our space (both resi and commercial). I was just at InfoCOMM helping my friend Dave Tkachuk with his booth. He has a software product (Visio Template) that he has been developing and refining for over 2 decades. The result is a solution that helps make the process of generating proper documents much less painful for the design engineer, and the results are much more readable and understandable for the technician and service person. Its a win-win for all involved. Take a look: |
Re: Reavon UBR-X110 IP Control
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi, ? i?ve written a SIMP+ module for the Reavon IP Control protocol and using it successfully with a Reavon X100. AFAIK, the protocol is identical throughout the product range. ? Re: AudioControl MD series
I did a project with a M4840 late last year. The module worked as advertised, very fast and stable.
I didn't use any of the digital outputs stuff though, everything else worked great. Btw, the unit comes with 2Vrms as the default Input Sensitivity value, immediately change that to 1Vrms. |
Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today
My latest article, "Documenting a Smart Home System for Prospective Home Buyers¡± is being published by the good folks at Residential Tech Today Magazine on their web site.
Creating your own smart home can be a rewarding experience. However, like any home improvement project, it is also an investment.? And, if you expect to get a return on that investment when you sell your home, it needs to be documented so a new owner can be confident that the system can be maintained and enhanced over time.? This article explores the importance of smart home documentation and the types of documentation needed for a smart home. You can find the article here: For those interested in earlier articles that I've written, you can find those here: Finally, for those that want to see even more content I've written about smart home technology you can find that here: Thanks |
Reavon UBR-X110 IP Control
Hi,
Does someone has any experience with controlling the Reavon UBR-X110 over ip? Because i have followed the IP control document, but for some reason i coudn't control it. I am currently also missing the feedback commands to read out the current play time or play pause state for example. Thanks in advance |
AudioControl MD series
I have to say, I like their Bijou amps a lot.
I'm about to start a project using M4840's. I'm just looking through the demo project and I noticed that the AudioControl_MD_series_Zone_3.1.0.usp module inside the Zone Digital A & B modules is commented out. We are only planning on using digital so I'm curious as to why this module is commented out. Anyone used these modules yet? If so did you try digital? Cheers |
Re: FYI: New Sonos Device Module v3.2.1
Hi Chris,
Is that V219.05.001.00?db? I'm not seeing anything in the release notes about Sonos. Last entry I see was: Fixes/Changes from 214.05.004.00 to 215.00.003.00:
