Re: Shelly Cloud devices integration in Crestron Home - UI question
#crestronhome
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI'll just throw in my $.02 since I've done a lot of work with
integrating the Hubitat Elevation Hub with a Crestron processor in
the SimplWindows world.? I've had email conversations with
WIlliam, the principal at NC Systrems.? I'm not sure he is part of
this group so I'll just say he is using the same approach as I
have for integration and while he only supports a few device types
right now, he has told me he plans on adding more support to his
CH driver over time. Personally, I use a lot of devices integrated with my Crestron
system through the Hubitat in my own home.? I have found it to be
a very stable and reliable platform.? The integration has been
rock solid.? The Hubitat, like a Crestron processor, executes
everything locally on the hub so it isn't reliant on a cloud
service or active Internet connection.? That being said, when I wrote the article on Crestron-Hubitat
integration for Residential Tech Today a few years ago, I found
that if you send commands too fast to the Hubitat you can overload
that pathway.? So, for example, an all off command that sends 20
individual commands to turn off lights is going to be a problem.?
There is an easy work around for this.? The Hubitat allows you to
create a light group that combines any number of lights into a
single entity.? So, a single command to turn on/off the group will
turn on/off all lights in the group.? I haven't tested this
recently on the latest C-8 Hubitat hub. However, I expect that
while the faster C-8 will handle things better, there will still
be limitations.? I have over 70 devices connected to my Hubitat.? Probably about
1/3 of these are not true devices but are virtual that only exist
in software.? I use virtual devices to trigger Alexa routines from
my Crestron processor and to integrate with devices whose only
integration is through IFTTT (without a port forward on the
router).? For example, a sensor in my mailbox is triggered when
the mail is delivered and then an announcement is made on all the
Alexa devices in my home that the mail has arrived.? The article is very long and detailed but if you want to learn
more about Crestron-Hubitat integration the article is located
here: For those still working in the SimplWindows world my Crestron-Hubitat SimplWindows driver can be found here: Hope this helps Jay

Very interesting.
Will definitely email them to see if there are any limitations or restrictions I need to be aware of. Thanks again mate. |
Re: CRESTRON CONSTRUCT first impressions
First compile of any project will be slow in Construct while it sets up the build environment.? Second compile should be much snappier. Re: NAX Streaming & BBC Radio Stations
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi CharlieIt¡¯s all to do with the way the BBC provide their content. They are shifting it all to their BBC Sounds ¡®app¡¯ which NAX can¡¯t handle yet. I¡¯m not sure the ¡®turn off¡¯ date was very public knowledge, and BBC Sounds is technically still in Beta, but the likes of Sonos and Amazon have already adopted it. Let¡¯s hope it¡¯s resolved soon! Re: NAX Streaming & BBC Radio Stations
Thanks Justyn, Im assuming this is something to do with whomever is providing the streaming database to crestron so possibly not a crestron issue.......... so just means it won't get fixed anytime soon.?
Ive heard though the grapevine that BBC changed something with their streaming a few weeks ago and its also effected other manufactures (autonomic). |
Re: NAX Streaming & BBC Radio Stations
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi CharlieI can confirm the same on one of our sites too. I think every one of us in the UK need to raise this immediately as it needs sorting, otherwise Crestron will be getting an awful lot of NAXs returned! Regards Justyn On 16 Jun 2023, at 10:16, charliehibbins <charlie@...> wrote:

NAX Streaming & BBC Radio Stations
Hi All,?
Our jobs with NAX units appear to have lost the ability to stream any of the BBC radio channels.? We got the "Oops there's been a problem" popup so we deleted the favourites and now the BBC channels don't even show up in the search!! Anybody have the same or have access to an NAX to see if its the same for them! Thanks |
Re: CLX-2DIMU8 flashing 1-2 error code pattern on outputs 5 through 8
#lighting
Enable debugging on the module, and let it tell you what the error is. These modules are very sensitive so if an electrician was doing something while the module was powered up then it's probably fried.

If you look at the installation guide, it says the 1-2 error code means ? |

One license per processor.

Would we have to pay multiple licenses then? or just a single license (per processor).

The 16 devices is per room/tile. Multiple instances of the driver can be installed, with up to 16 devices per instance.

Yea they used to have a Gateway Backup/Restore in Toolbox.Gateway Backup/Restore functions are still available in Toolbox. You need to connect to the gateway first (in Text Console, System Info, etc.), and then access it from the Functions menu. (It isn't found in the Tools menu.) ? |

That seems somewhat interesting, thanks @brewernv.
They mention a limitation for 16 devices only, is that per room/tile? or in total? |
Re: DM8x8 - all 5 room boxes have problems?
Reseated all cards in DM frame PJ RMC rcvr still not functioning Used stand-alone POE injector ¨C PJ RMC rcvr OK Moved POE back to POE switch ¨C still OK Had to use my POE injector to get all RMC xmitters working ¨C still worked on POE switch also |
Re: Shelly Cloud devices integration in Crestron Home - UI question

There is an available Crestron Home Extension driver that supports Shelly lighting devices and provides a UI similar to the one provided by the native CH lighting support. The driver also makes programmable operations available on the Actions & Events page that permits Shelly (and other) devices to be included in native lighting sequences/scenes. The driver depends on the use of a Hubitat automation hub, which is used as a gateway for Zigbee, Z-Wave, and Wi-Fi lighting devices. Driver documentation can be viewed at? ?.??

Re: DM8x8 - all 5 room boxes have problems?
the client tried a POE injector at the DM, not the room box, still didn't work
i have some P/S but they all have connectors, the RMC-4K-100-C-1G has a phoenix connector client has tried new cat5, maybe 25' run, so not long are these boxes that finicky on POE from DM? |
Re: Shelly Cloud devices integration in Crestron Home - UI question

I wouldn't recommend this for a client but if it was my home...... Use a Lutron RA2 main repeater and create a bunch of phantom (fake) loads that correspond to your Shelly devices. Then use SIMPL to mirror the feedback of the phantom loads to the input of the Shelly devices. Add the Lutron repeater to CH and then whenever you adjust the phantom loads in CH it will do the same actions to the Shelly devices. If you want to go all out you can also use the feedback on the Shelly devices to drive the input on the RA2 devices and this way if you control the device from the Shelly app it will update its status in CH. The Shelly devices will only live in SIMPL and the Lutron devices will be in both SIMPL and CH.?
