Re: TPS-2000L bleached out screen
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýOne of those panels actually had the orientation (flip or not) in setup. ? From: <[email protected]> on behalf of Joseph Clare <joe@...> ? Just an option we¡¯ve come across, if you flip the 2000 (there¡¯s an option in the menu) often they are brighter in the upside down position, sounds unlikely but has worked numerous times for us - just remember to reprogram the button layout¡ Joe Clare 4KS 07876 403876 Sent from out of office e-mail

Re: QM audio format
I always thought QM was an analog transport, but the specs do talk about DA conversions. The fact that they need low-skew cable (or compensation for skew) suggests analog video, but I'm seeing now that "Audio signals are transmitted digitally with high-performance 24-bit resolution" (Google found that on the?QM-FTMCSC-B) page). Maybe only the audio is digitized, to allow it fit onto the same cable as RGB video? I'd probably look at something like a little RDL amplifier to replace them, given your budget restraints.
On another note, if the cable is CRESCAT-QM-NP, then it's the low-skew variety, and that may give you issues with your HDMI over Cat5e. -- Josh Winn The LiquidPixel Group |

Re: QM audio format
I think it would be an up hill battle to convert the the audio into a digital format suitable for QM. The best solution would be to obtain some QM transmitters to mount beside the RXs. You probably have some in the system and should be able to obtain more quite inexpensively. You will of course have a lot more Cresnet devices which will have power and hub considerations. DIN-HUB is inexpensive and there are heaps of QM-WMCs on fleebay.
However, I assume you have control over the TVs, therefore obtaining new low powered amps with optical in, or analog if the TVs have it, would be the tidiest and the best long term solution. Lindsay |
QM audio format
I have a gym we are proposing some upgrades for. ?This particular client is of the budget conscience variety. ?The facility has about 25 TV locations pole mounted from the ceiling and each one has a pair of speakers and a QM-RMCRX-BA mounted to the pole. ?The CRX powers the speakers and provides control of the TV and speaker volume. ?They are being fed from several QM-MD8X8. ?While antiquated, the system works very well. ?I¡¯d like to swap out the video distribution and feed the displays HDMI, then take the analog audio (fixed level) out of the display to the QM receiver. ?TVs also have optical out. The locations are all being fed via CRESCAT wire and repurposing the CAT part for HDMI would be very efficient. ?My question is this¡the only audio input on these room boxes is via the QM input, the audio is on pins 4 and 5, is this some sort of magic proprietary Crestron sauce or is there a way for me to convert or adapt it? ?The audio actually sounds great and I¡¯d be able to work within the budget confines if I could keep the speakers, and room boxes powering them. ?What do you think?

Re: DM-NUX multi-device pairing through SIMPL
Did you have to pair ALL combinations or just do a single initial pairing??? And were you using the DM-NUX module?
My client was able to get this working by using the same programming with the DM-EXT module instead of the DM-NUX module. (Probably had to modify the MAC addresses in the serial send.) Pretty ridiculous for Crestron to include a half-baked (seemingly) non-working module for a piece of gear that they slap their name on, but I'm sure it's also what most have come to expect at this point... |
Re: TSW-1050 Display Home Assistant GUI
#smartgraphics
#tsw
You might be able to get a static image if you have some other machine rendering a screenshot of HA?then display that on the 1050 with auto refresh... but nothing interactive. The 1050 is just too old to display anything modern.

TPS-2000L bleached out screen
Has anyone tried fixing these?? I have a client that has a number of these and they are all doing the same thing.? I have also seen this many times before.? I know the obvious solution is an upgrade, but well, he's cheap.? I imagine that this is a dried out capacitor.? Just curious if anyone has had success in repairing one of these.? If so what did you do?

Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today
My latest article, "Occupancy Sensing with the Aqara FP2 Presence Sensor¡± is being published by the good folks at Residential Tech Today Magazine on their web site.
Sensing occupancy is an important driver of smart home automation.? This includes sensing whether a home, or even individual rooms are occupied.? The new Aqara FP2 is a game changing product that overcomes the limitations of the motion sensors people typically use for occupancy sensing.? The FP2 can sense when people are sleeping in a room, if they are sitting in a specific chair vs. standing in another part of a room, and more. This article looks in detail at the new Aqara FP2. You can find the article here: For those interested in earlier articles that I've written, you can find those here: Finally, for those that want to see even more content I've written about smart home technology you can find that here: Thanks |
Re: DM-NUX multi-device pairing through SIMPL
Thank you very much for the detailed response, Peter.
This is basically how I'm programming it except I'm using serial one-shots behaving like a stepper instead of an actual stepper. It's hard to determine whether a signal timing issue is the culprit, but I don't believe that to be the case as playing in debugger hasn't yielded a pairing. Module reports as online and no errors are reported on the analog out, but cannot get these to pair, let alone switch. |
Re: DM-NUX multi-device pairing through SIMPL
So this is how I made 4 CRESTRON USB-EXT-DM-LOCALs and 1 CRESTRON USB-EXT-DM-REMOTE work with a CP3.? The NUX module works pretty much the same way. Put all the USB Locals and Remote on the same Network Switch as the Processor.? I used the USB-EXT-DM Module and you only use the last six digits of the Mac Address with this module. With the NUX you will use the full MAC address, and the NUX module for MAC address only allows 12 digits so no :s are used in the SIOs. First SIO is the USB Receiver with the MAC Address in the Text parameter and Connect the TX$ Output to Device_0 on the DM-NUX module.? The next SIO is for the USB Local Units that you want to pair your Remote USB Device to.? Expand the SIO for as many Local Units you have and put the MAC Address for Each One in the Text parameter and Connect the TX$ Output to Device_1 on the DM-NUX module.? Then I used a simple stepper to make the connection.? First is a digital pulse to the Receiver USB SIO Mac Address, Second digital pulse is to the Local USB SIO Mac Address, and then Third is a digital pulse to the DM-NUX Pair Devices. Leave the broadcast address set as is when you drop the module into you program.? This should get you close. Sorry I haven¡¯t had to use the NUX module yet.?? ? --Peter Procyk |
DM-NUX multi-device pairing through SIMPL
Has anyone been able to get these to pair/unpair through SIMPL?
Basic setup: RMC3, HD-RX-4K-410-C-E-SW4, two hosts, one device. What was the trick? Does anyone have a quickie sample program or any procedural insight? I'm using the Crestron-provided DM-NUX v1.0 SIMPL module, F1'd it, infinite wisdom in there to be had, but I originally followed the steps but have also colored outside the lines in debugger, and have discussed with two other colleagues. No success. I've read through these two semi-related TB articles, too, still not pairing. There are no articles I have found specifically pertaining to the DM-NUX. Thanks in advance. |
