I've inherited a project that is controlling older Somfy shades via IR but the Somfy has low->high voltage controllers in electric junction boxes.? Each junction box houses 6 or 9 small low->high voltage controllers which are all daisy chained together via an RJ11 cable that then goes to a little box with the IR emitter stuck to it from the Crestron processor.

The current program controls the shades but I don't have the source code so it's a rewrite.? None of the Somfy IR codes I'm finding in the Crestron database or RemoteCentral work to move any of the shades.? I've tried the IR driver with just up/down/stop, the IR driver with 8 channels, and the IR driver with 24 channels.

Anybody remember dealing with this kind of setup and can provide some guidance or an IR driver that may work?

@dblpnt you saved the day!?

Under settings -> Authentication Management, I had to add the group name (in my case set as administrator) and that was it!

To be honest I tried this yesterday but at first it didn't work because I was entering the wrong group name, but after you mentioned it,? I decided to take a good second look at it and got it right! Thanks for nudging me in the right direction.

Besides hardening, have you added the user group of the user you are using for the iPad in the authentication management on VC-4?

I had a customer call me this morning to report that the TSW-1060 in one of their conference rooms was showing the Crestron logo and the message: Application could not be installed. Please ensure there is an internet connection.

TB said to do the following:?Change Application to Default via web UI. Panel will reboot, then change app back to Zoom.Panel will reboot again, then go back to the same screen.Give it some time to download v5.13.0, which was released last night, and then Zoom should launch normally

This did not work and I am back on hold with TB.

Anyone run into this issue? If so, did you figure out a solution?

I updated firmware through the web interface, downloaded firmware from the support page for the projector model.?

I am using the DB9 port for control.?
I saw in the documentation where baud rate for the HDBaseT port is 9600

Thank you for answering. One thing you did not mention was if you have a "paid" or "free-trial" version of VC4? (I'm on a free-trial)

I am running in Bridged mode just like you (when using Virtualbox this seems to be the best way to make the VC-4 appear on the network as transparently as possible) and I have this on a laptop other than the one I typically use for programming (so I don't have to worry about port-forwarding between Host OS and Guest OS)

This still doesn't solve my issue, but at least is good to hear that you can confirm to have this working... I wonder if there is a difference between Rocky and Alma in this regard...It would be reassuring to hear if anybody has this working on an Alma Linux install.

The system is definitely hardened as per instructions, because I can use Simpl Debugger just fine.?

For now, I continue to scratch my head...

are you using the RS232 port on the projector or RS232 via HDBT?
Sony uses different baud rate on HDBT, iirc 19200 N 8 1, but not 100% sure if N or E.

The plogs contain more of the same. Errors before the watchdog log entries are JSON in nature that deal with the NTP clock servers.
NVRAMreboot came up empty.

Yes, I have even parity set and get plain text reply from the projector.?
So, I am confident in the wiring and comspec.?
Display just does not like the command format. As always, MFR documents are very poor.?

Also tried PJ link commands via 232 but they did not work either.?
Called into Sony support. They say I might get a call back in a day or two.?

Sony PJs require even parity. Check that setting and? put a loopback to confirm that bytes looped back are exactly what you sent.
