Re: Marantz SR7015
Michael S Moran
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýDenon/Marantz can display Volume in ¡°Relative¡±¡0-100 or db¡-80 to +15 db. Note: 0 db is full gain (Loud). Volume On, Max parameters can also be set. I would strongly urge all to select a Turn On/Initialization of perhaps 34 in the Relative mode as opposed to ¡°Last¡±. If you have a wild night with head banging/paint blistering levels and turn the unit off at thst level¡better buckle up cause it will turn back on at that blistering level! ?Jus Sayin.? Re: Sony Professional Display problems.
Tray,
we have many many Sony FW series professional displays controlling via IP using that module and MPC panels. ? A few things to check. 1. is Simple IP control enabled 2. remove the mains supply completely, then power up after a minute or so. ? We have seen some displays completely loose control and need a full power recycle. ? ?Doing a factory reset did not return control. ?Only physical power off worked. 3. check the port on your tcp module is set to 20060 pro mode doesn't have any relevance to the control over IP¡..this is the last thing we enable after all the testing is complete. ?Its a great feature to lock down the screen and stop end users changing settings after commissioning if you go too > pro-bravia.sony.net/develop/integrate/ip-control/samples/index.html ? You¡¯ll find a sample web browser control page. ? This is great to just test communication and control is working with the display. ? If I remember you do need to use the Pre Shared Key so remember to switch that off after testing if your not using it in your program. Rgds Steve |
Re: Marantz SR7015
I think some of the Marantz units have two different ways of displaying the volume on the unit itself. ?It¡¯s something like 0-100 or the weird dB reading that goes from a negative to zero then something like +10. ?The Marantz has to be in the correct mode in order for the volume to work correctly in the module. It¡¯s in the Marantz menu somewhere. ?This has bitten me a few times in the past if memory serves.

Max String/Buffer Input in S+
Got a weird one. Trying to some parsing on a very large return string from a device (AVPro C-Box). Typical string is approximately 548 characters. I have my S+ parsing set up to look for a delimiter value, then grab the next 12 characters, turn them into an integer, and spit it back out into the Simpl world. Sounds great, right? I'm testing with text files at the moment since I don't have access to the actual unit. I'm using Trace to watch how S+ is reacting to my input data. If I put 458 characters into the string input, which includes my delimiter, it works great. If I attempt to shove 459 characters in, it just kill it. It's like the program never saw the data. Trace says 'nope, got nothing', and therefore I get nothing back. I have my string input size set to 1000 (even tried 65534, supposedly you can do that). I've tried breaking it into smaller chunks using other constant delimiters in the string. This works, as long as the original string is 458 characters or less. I've turned all trace commands off, knowing they likely bog down resources, still the same result. Anyone see this before? Any ideas? Thanks, g |
Re: IP Connect - Best Practices
Thanks for all of your replies and insight. A bit of followup from my end... The Philips display issue was on a 4-series box, and although it's not ideal, it's nice to hear that I'm not the only one seeing stuff like this. I'll keep using my overkill-oscillator for now. g

I experienced one event with a 4-series having a TCP client loose connection and halt retrying, at the beginning of this year (I started a thread about it then). A reboot 'Fixed' it and I have not seen any other issues, though I've heard a few others indicate very infrequent similar issues with both TCP clients and EISC comms.? On my project with the issue, I did update the firmware (again probably around february) and haven't seen this issue again... I agree with most that you shouldn't have to manage this, as I've had '1' on the TCP connects for 20+ years with no notable issues except the one mentioned (2,3 and now 4-series) I did have one IP-controlled relay board that would stop communicating after ~7-10 days, but I'm very sure it was the device not Crestron. This was a very specific application so I changed this to connect only when I needed to control the relays and then disconnected again - Seems to be stable after 4-5 weeks... I have personally changed from using a '1', to a signal driven by some start-up logic as it allows debugger testing and facilitates adding re-connect logic when needed... Guzzup: Though it would seem that your issue is different, I did have an issue with a Sony AVR module (back in 2018/2019) where when you disconnected the network connection to the AVR for only about 20 sec., the module would not reconnect. you had to reboot the program slot. It ended up being an issue with the S# comms that was not retrying. one of my inside Crestron Peeps fixed it and I've been using it consistently without issue since then... |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýMarantz is solid on IP control. I¡¯ve got a few in the field that haven¡¯t had any issues for years. Maybe give that a go with the relevant marantz module?Tim Greenbank Control Systems Engineer On 3 Sep 2022, at 09:19, ckangis <chris@...> wrote:

Do you have a specific model? The first one that pops up with a quick Google is 24VDC --out-- which would be unlikely to work with a TSW based on the 48VDC requirement for standard POE. Something that takes 24V in and steps it up to 48 should work, but daisy
chaining and current draw are likely to be problematic?

Marantz SR7015
Hi All,
I've been controlling Marantz AVRs for a while now with the same code, and no issues. I'm working on a project with an SR7015 and I'm getting weirdness with the volume feedback. 1. The AVR has the latest FW 2. CP4 has the latest FW 3. Interface is RS-232 and the code uses the Denon AVR-3313 v1.1 module for some of the control, and the volume feedback. 4. I've used this same code recently (last 3-6 months) with an SR5015 AVR and an AV8805A surround processor, both without the volume feedback issue, but they may not have the latest FW... Has anyone seen any issues relating to changes in the protocol like this? TIA! |
Hi,
Has anyone used Tycon Systems 24V POE injectors to upgrade from old 2000L inwall panels to TSW1070? We want to power up the panel and use the WiFi using the existing daisy-chained cresnet. Important note, the cresnet is daisy-chained to other cresnet devices, these TPs will NOT have a home-run. We will only be tapping on to the power of the cresnet, so we are not sending data, just need to power and then using the TP WiFi to connect to CP4R.? |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI use Jura. Just push the button . . . :-o ? From: <[email protected]> on behalf of Thorsten K?hler <thorsten.koehler@...> ? Hi, i use Jira. Not in a very sophisticated way, but pretty simple way (Kanban/team style). Just creating cards (todos) with a (short) description of the todo, then with updates over time. You just move these cards through different stages ¨C open, in progress, testing, done. (you can define your own stages if you prefer). You can assign people from your team if you want to, but I also use it to track my own tasks. You can do pretty sophisticated stuff with it, but i prefer to keep it simple. ? Cheers, Thorsten ? Re: Sony Professional Display problems.
Also, the Sony 2014 module from App market does not work either for IP control.?
Is there another module the group might suggest for 232 control instead?? I can send commands via SIO. Issue is that I need to get the volume level back to show on a MPC front panel.? Thanks, Tray |
