Re: TSR-302 accident: orange instead of black

Orange is the new black.
Sorry couldn't resist.?

If you have a set of spudgers, they are pretty easy to take apart once you undo the two steel screws just above and either side of the battery compartment. Just be careful when you are spudgering & lifting the back off not to nick the antenna coax.

The weak spot in these remotes is the ribbon pcb that links the two main pcb's. I suspect that this has become dislodged slightly. I've successfully fixed one of mine by reseating this but it is stupid fiddly. I did mine powered up so I could see the results as I moved the ribbon. YMMV.

Betreff: [crestron] Keypad / Switch recommendations?

Are there any good 3rd party keypads that can interface easily with Crestron or other systems?

Not looking for a whole lighting solution (a switch/keypad would be acceptable though), only single gang control interface for keypads or switches.?

RGB LEDs for status indicators similar to control4s keypads (without all their switch shortcomings) would be welcomed but not required.

Thanks in advance,
Cody

Re: GWEXER and Authentication

Definitely seen this recently on an install, seems to work ok to the processor but Toolbox connection does seem poor, think it may have been better over USB than ethernet

I don’t know about a module but IIRC the protocol for Lutron includes discreet “Press”, “Release”, and “Tap” (which is essentially press with immediate release) – IIRC Lutron press+hold is just “send press when you press the Crestron button and send release when you release the Crestron button” – but again everything I’ve done with Lutron has been via a SIO.

Thanks, but my question isn't about the LED feedback......

It's about the ability for Crestron to be able to send press + press and hold functions.?

TSR-302 accident: orange instead of black

Hi,

I accidently sat on my TSR-302 remote and now everything that is supposed to be black on the touchscreen is orange. Even when starting up the remote, the white Crestron swirl has an organge background. The same if I enter the setup page and have a look at the color patterns... everything that is supposed to be black is orange.

This looks like a hardware defect to me. Or is there a chance that I hit a combination of buttons with my butt that changed some hardware level settings? Is there a hardware level factory reset? How would that be applied?
If it is a hardware problem, has anyone opened up a TSR-302? I took out the two silver colored screws that appear to hold down the back cover, but I am scared to break anything as the plastic cover appears to be latched... maybe it is just a ribbon cable not being seated properly...

Appreciate your advice!

Markus

GWEXER and Authentication

Hi All,
I'm dealing with a GWEXER with Authentication turned on, and it is misbehaving with regard to reliable comm's via Toolbox, particularly with the SystemInfo tool.
Have others seen this or is this likely a unique issue?

TIA!

?Did something happen physically to the serial port?

?

I don?t know. It?s an old install and i?m currently doing a refactoring of the old programming.

The Marantz is just used to power some outdoor speakers and it wasn?t used for quite some time.

The client has an inhouse technician who tried to get it back to work but no luck.

?

So I just want to quickly switch to IR as an interim solution until we do a rework of the audio system.

Try turning the cycle dim off in the lutron program and see if you are able to control the lights again.

Re: Crestron Lutron QSX Keypad Emulation

search on this group, we had a conversation about it, but basically the LED comes from a different module and different lutron ID

Crestron Lutron QSX Keypad Emulation

Hi,

We're currently working on a big Lutron & Crestron project and having an issue with the crestron emulating/controlling/triggering a button press on a physical keypad.?Ive got the v1.2 Lutron drivers from the application market.

Keypad is setup as toggles with 1 button per circuit (each with cycle dim), button 1 on each keypad also has a double tap for a predefined scene and the last button on every keypad is a single action "room off"

Ive programmed the Crestron and have set the mode as PressHoldRelease.

When tapping the button via the Crestron the LED on the matching keypad button just flashes and does not toggle the circuit on. (Its like the Lutron believes/is acting like the button has been held?)
When the circuit is already on and you press+hold the button on the crestron then the applicable circuit does cycle dim.?
Double tapping the button on the Crestron also just causes the LED on the keypad to flash and the lights don't toggle.?

The single press "Room Off" does work from the Crestron.?

Any thoughts?

Sadly, I have had to program Savant systems for former Crestron customers that want to upgrade.? It is not just that Crestron is hard to get.? The real problem is we will lose our clients to other firms that install inferior product while we wait for Crestron unless we offer something they can get now.? Savant is shipping full line.? Their sandbox is rather large and they have potential to allow for a fair bit of monkey-business to suit special automation requirements.? They are not quite a substitute for Crestron in an ultra specialized application, but their product does what it does quite reliably.

I have MC4R and CP4R processors on order from Feb 2022 and they are now telling me to expect q2 or q3 2023. The lack of key processors from Crestron is forcing us to stop recommending, quoting and selling Crestron. Virtually every other Crestron product depends on either the CP4R or MC4R units - nothing works in Crestron Home OS without these processors. I do not understand why Crestron does not stop everything else till these processors are ready to ship. Is Crestron going under???? What other vendors would any of you recommend? We are Control 4, URC, and Josh dealers as well as Crestron, but each of those systems has major shortcomings.

Doesn?t solve your problem, but I heard the new AP4-R has shorter shipping times than the MC4-R and the CP4-R.

Re: Let’s have a candid conversation.

The key to survival is diversity.? Our Savant and C4 dealership has been dormant for years, until recently.? Frankly what they offer is great and it ships today.? The one catch is neither are built for certain types of commercial applications, i.e. no DSP control.? VC4 is a learning curve and I use Linux daily.? I've finally got it to a place where I believe it will cover needs, but we still can't procure IR/rs232 boxes or UI.? If you can do all IP control and mobile UI, it looks like a good option for those niche jobs.? In looking around everybody and their dog are developing commercial control systems.? Honestly, they look good and are simple to program, big changes are on the horizon.??

Marantz SR7400 IR control

开云体育

Hi,

?

i?m currently having an issue controlling a Marantz SR7400 at a client?s site.

It was connected and controlled via RS232 up to now, but the RS232 seems to be broken now.

So i have to switch to IR control.

I?ve tried the drivers that come with the SIMPL database, but they don?t seem to work properly.

Power, volume, mute don?t work at all, the discrete keys for selecting radio presets work, but the sequence is screwed up (at least it shows, that it?s not a hardware or communication issue as it works in general).

?

I found a IR driver from 2004 in the groups filebase (upload by Tony Golden). I?ll give that a try – anything special I need to know about that driver?

Thanks,

Thorsten
