Re: CP3-R difference

To answer the original posters question -- No you cannot run SIMPL on a CP3-R.

The CP3-R was a pretty short lived processor.? It was available for just a short period. Being introduced in 2019 and discontinued in 2020.? We ordered one by mistake not realizing it couldn't do SIMPL.? Crestron came out with the CP4-R (I believe in 2020) and as a result discontinued the CP3-R.

Re: CP3-R difference

I think that the 'R' means lots more RAM, needed for the Pyng/CH apps...

Also note, I don't think that there's any way to use the 'R' version for standard SMW projects...:(

Re: NAX Traffic crushing network

Hey John,
I haven't fully thought this thru yet, but I think that if you just set up the streaming ports on the NAX units to a separate switch and then use the other/non-streaming ports for control on the main network - basically a hardware wall between the two communication types...
This is not the ultimate solution, but it could get you done for now...

Tom Brady (not the Quarterback!) at Crestron would be the guy to review this with, Send me an email if you want his contact info...

Re: Launching a 3rd party app from the crestron go app #crestronapp

I think that the problem may be what I think is trying to launch a 'Native' app - Others please weigh in on this as I'd like to know as well...

Ex: I used to use remote:// to launch the Apple TV remote app, than Apple decided to make things 'better' by making it a 'native' app and putting it in the system tray...
Now I can't get it to work...I'm thinking that CALC may be the same...

Would also Love to hear a way around this to make it work...

Re: Launching a 3rd party app from the crestron go app #crestronapp

You need to send it the URL and then hit the send, I just use a sos to make it simple.? The trick is finding the URL for the particular app you have in mind, some examples: "Sonos://", "ZoomRooms://", "roku://".? I have never tried the calculator, maybe try installing one of these and testing, as I know they work.? Good luck

¡°R¡± designation alludes to Crestron Home configuration whereas the regular CP-3 supports Simpl deployments.?

Poly G7500 device mode command

I have tried using provider mode command in Poly G7500 API guide but when we change provider mode, the system restarts.
I want to change provider mode from poly to device mode without restart. Kindly provide commands for the same

Re: Back to the Future: Bulk CD Ripping!!

What Michael said!!

Re: Back to the Future: Bulk CD Ripping!!

With the impending release of the AMB and OS7 Autonomic claims that they will support a floor of 200K songs but that they might be able to do more.

Re: Back to the Future: Bulk CD Ripping!!

I would be a bit curious if an Autonomic could actually index that much music. I have about 40,000 songs on mine and it works fine, but you're talking 120-150,000 titles or more there. Has anyone here ever tried one with that number of titles?

Re: NAX Traffic crushing network

I had a similar problem with NVX devices. ?I had to turn off spanning tree protocol on my Cisco switches on the VLAN with the NVX devices and that fixed the problem for me!

Re: NAX Traffic crushing network

So as I read and watch video.? It does seem that any switch that supports VLANs and IGMP should work in this small application. Since it is only 3 NAX units and no NVX.? It seems that they would co-exist fine on the flat network if IGMP was turn on, unless I am misunderstanding what I am reading.

Re: NAX Traffic crushing network

Edited

So there is no NVX yet.? What requirements in the switch would the NAX need?? There is an Araknis switch on site that has yet to be used. In this case I have conduits between systems, so I can get anything between the 3 amps.? Just to know for the future.
