Samsung TV control added to Flex Teams room
All, ?Can you exchange the DM receiver from the Mercury panel for one that has IR, IP, CEC, or serial connectivity? Thoughts? |
Re: Replacement for multichannel amplifier
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi, ? indeed, i did some further research and couldn?t really find anything comparable for the price of the Dayton Audio. Actually it was me killing the unit while replugging inputs while powered on ¨C before that, it was working happily for 5+ years now. So i just bought the same one yesterday from ebay as a quick fix for my home installation. ? But the EA-DYN-12D-100 you mentioned does look interesting! The dynamic series isn?t listed here in the EU, so i missed that. Only thing i found on the EU web-shop was the EA-RSP-12D-100 which costs considerably more than the DYN-model because of its additional features i don?t need. So that wasn?t interesting for me. So i?ll ask my sales rep if the DYN series would be available here as well and probably give it a try. ? Thanks, Thorsten ? ? Von: [email protected] <[email protected]> Im Auftrag von ckangis ? Re: Replacement for multichannel amplifier
Thorsten,
That's a VERY aggressive price for 12-channels!!? Even most of the SnapAV/SnapONE units are considerably more than that. They do have one model that is similarly priced (EA-DYN-12D-100). I've never used it so I can't attest to its quality. Units at this price point are built for the price not the performance/longevity I think.... |
Re: Alert! concerning the PC-350V power controllers
That really sucks. Sounds like they just made these so they can integrate them with Cresron Home and figure those kind of jobs dont usually get a UPS, instead of the rest of us that do custom and design systems correctly with battery backup. Kind of silly why they didnt make a new UPS device but maybe its best they didnt. We will stick with the tried and true brands thanks for the heads up!

Alert! concerning the PC-350V power controllers
This is an FYI to alert others as to what we consider a fundamental design flaw with the new PC-350V-x series Power Controllers.
We recently installed (2) of the 12 outlet units in a system and have now had two instances of the units going into 'Fault' mode, which shuts off all the outlets. This essentially requires a tech to go on site to hard-boot the units to restore proper operation. After this second event we have diagnosed the issue and are making arrangements to return the units for credit and will be replacing them with a competitive product. Here is what we have found: First, the Firmware release notes state in the KNOWN ISSUEs section -?"Having a floating neutral (not bonded to earth) which is common on a UPS will cause the device to detect a fault and disconnect the outlets." During a tech support call where we attempted to have Crestron explain when this issue would be resolved (I said they needed an immediate resolution), I was informed that they would not be resolving this...:( Crestron's position is that " The PC-350 is not designed to work with a UPS"...? Mind you that there is no clear notice of this fact on the website. My position is that this product was improperly designed!!? 100% of my Smart PDU products are served by UPSs... I have used Smart PDUs since the late 1990's, DataProbe, Middle Atlantic, Wattbox, BlueBolt, etc. and they all work fine with UPSs... Just wanted all to know... |
Re: Extending HDMI signal
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYep; I¡¯m actually doing exactly this in our apartment in DC to extend video from the living room to the bedroom using the structured cable included in the building. ? If you do go the DM-TX-200-C-2G router be aware aside from the less friendly powering situation (and inability to pass LAN over DM should that ever come up as a need/want) that the DM-TX-200-C-2G runs exceptionally hot ¨C as in ¡°a few more degrees and it would probably need a hot surface/caution burn hazard¡± notice ¨C so unless you put it in an electrical box the space savings may be offset by the ¡°OWWWWWWW HOT!¡± factor ? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D ? Extending HDMI signal
Bill Lamm
I rescued some crestron equipment from a renovation project I worked on last year..?
At my church the need for a 100 foot HDMI cable came up and I set up a DM-tx-201-c connected to a DM-RMC-SCALER-C in my living room to see if it will work.? It has happly sending my PC screen to my TV for about 4 hours so far..? that is all I need it to do.. my question is, do I need to change anything in the equipment setup or just let it glow?? I also have some?DM-TX-200-C-2G s powering that would be a little trickier in my use case but take up less space in the AV booth... Thanks in advance Bill |

Not sure but I would assume no, unless it's Roku branded but I've never tried it.

Re: Error: LogicEngine_1...SplusIntfc: Send module send signal Msg to Splus failed... - any suggestions where to start
Have seen these on 3 series and 4 series. Cant pin down what causes it. A few years ago we did have a case where the TV Presets v1 was slowly eating up RAM and eventually the processor would just completely lockup- I did get alot of these errors in that case. ATSG couldnt come up with a solution other than stop using those presets or put the modules in another slot and reboot it nightly.?

Replacement for multichannel amplifier
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi, ? i had a Dayton Audio MA1260 multi-channel amplifier for a couple of years to power my multi-room audio system for some background music listening. Actually, the unit was a perfect fit to my requirements: not too much watts required per channel, 12 channel in total and the stereo groups, channel gain adjustable, 2 HE rack mount enclosure and stereo groups power up and down based on auto-sensing the corresponding input so there wasn?t any external control required to operate the amp. Unfortunately, the unit died for unknown reason and my repair guy wasn?t able to repair it. But he found that it?s not unusual for these units to die after a couple of years for unknown reason. ? So i?m actually a bit reluctant to purchase the same unit again and looking for alternatives. My requirements are listed above, last one is price. The MA1260 street price is about €700,- - so the replacement shouldn?t be in that area (or below ?). ? Any recommendation? ? Cheers, Thorsten |
Error: LogicEngine_1...SplusIntfc: Send module send signal Msg to Splus failed... - any suggestions where to start
Does anyone have any experience with the following error?
Error: LogicEngine_1 # [timestamp] # SplusIntfc: Send module send signal Msg to Splus failed. Msg Q error = 0x0. Size written is 4164:336 (timeout:32000) This program is running on an AV4. It's been running for a month or two, but about a week ago parts of the program started locking up after a period of time. When it's locked up and I check the logs, I have hundreds of the above error. A few lines before they start there is a: Error: AppWatchdog # [timestamp] # WDG: /simpl/app01 shutting down unexpectedly. Do Not Start=1 When in this state, I can still navigate touchscreen pages (using join #s and subpages, not page flips), but anything that uses SPlus doesn't work. If I reboot or restart the program, it all starts working again for a while, but several hours to a day or so later, it locks up again.? I have started a case with TB, but only suggestion so far is to comment out parts of program to try to find where issue is coming from. Thought I'd see if anyone here had any suggestions. Thanks, Jonathan |
Re: Visionary Solutions D4100 and Duet2
It's as easy as connection with a TCP client @ port 8000 and sending a string
To subscribe a decoder to an encoder:? CMD=START&UNIT.ID=ALL&STREAM.HOST=10.100.1.42&VW.ACTIVE=FALSE&STREAM.CONNECT=TRUE&CMD=END To use the serial port on a decoder you would connect a TCP client @ port 6752, it's like opening a port directly to the device, just send the raw device protocol commands. Re: Geofencing??? Anyone?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý?Great in theory. Until you have an unscheduled piss during the night and wake up the entire house by turning on every light on your way to the bathroom.?¡° ? That?s something you can mitigate by reducing the overall light level at night. ? But i agree, i love to automate, but there are a lot of things i prefer to manually activate. A lot of is dependant on mood and context. Sometimes i want to play the radio in the morning in the bathroom, sometimes not. That?s nothing that can be automated. ? ¡°Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.?¡± ? Agree. When you start to adapt your lifestyle to your house (¡°i didn?t go to have a pee in the middle of the night because i didn?t want to wake the entire house¡±) and not vice versa, then something went wrong with your automation. ? ? Cheers, Thorsten ? Von: [email protected] <[email protected]> Im Auftrag von Bambam_101 ? This level of automation would be great if you were a robot and did the exact same thing at every time of everyday, regardless.? |
Re: # SD Card Write COUNTER:
Yea many of my systems are similar to Alex. No real errors for the most part, and most days there are zero errors between the SD Card entries yet in this example there are ~200K writes to the card IN ONE DAY with nothing else in the log in between these two timestamps!!
