What is the onboard USB in your example?

Thanks!

Re: AV3 / PRO3 relay failure

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I¡¯ve abused relays on 3-series processors (including doing stupid things like clicking one every ? second for a couple hours just because) and I fairly frequently find myself having to use a ? second duty cycle ¡°blinker¡± for some real-world applications so I doubt that the frequency of a gate opener operation is, by itself, the cause.

?

If you¡¯re particularly seeing failures on a gate opener that would suggest to me either the current is exceeding the ratings of the Pro3 relays (compare spec sheets) or the gate opener being outside you¡¯re picking up lighting hits or other electrical transients that may not be enough to blow up anything else but are exceeding the limits of the relays.

?

In either case I would use an outboard relay (IIRC Elk has some nice pre-packaged ones) as a sacrificial relay and drive that from the PRO3¡Perhaps with an opto-isolator for extra safety

How often are you experiencing relay port failures on 3 series processors?? I am seeing an unacceptable number of high failures with these especially when it is a regularly used relay such as for a gate control.? I've seen them fail on 2 series processors in the past, but much less often.? I'm wondering if there is a more robust solution as well.

NUVISION RS232 Wiring/Commands

Hello,

Currently upgrading an old PRO2 system, TV's Will be upgraded shortly as well but for now it is still NUVISION.

I am unable to talk to the TV and only get error responses back.? Commands are correct they were taken directly from old file and apparently it was working prior to switchover (although it is a bedroom and they have multiple homes so I am unsure how long since this TV has even been used.)? I also looked up NUVISION protocol and the commands match perfectly.

I am wondering if it could be a wiring issue but I assume if wiring was incorrect I would not even be getting error messages back right? Any thoughts or ideas??

Thanks in advance.

Re: NVX/Dante network with Wireless Access?

Hi Scott

?

I think you have IGMP v2 enabled. And thus unregistered multicast addresses are not available to the AP.

You have to manually add these Dante multicast addresses to the group addresses and set them to static on all ports:

224.0.0.230

224.0.0.231

224.0.0.232

224.0.0.233

?

If you need more help, write me an email and I will send you a config file.

Have fun

Anyone else not get any group digest emails for the last week or so?

Re: NVX/Dante network with Wireless Access?

I could be way off, but is it possible the AP has a spanning tree setting causing this?
Are you still able to connect to the QSYS devices is you add a hard-link? Just no discovery?

Depends on your microphones. Currently we are seeing a lot of use with the Tesira X series. We add a EX-USB for the BYOD systems and use the onboard USB for the UC Engine

NVX/Dante network with Wireless Access?

Hi all, just need a little help.??

Has anyone successfully setup an NVX/Dante network and also managed to get Dante Controller working reliably via a wireless AP??

My system uses a Cisco SG350 and I have configured it correctly.? Dante works, NVX works and have not had a problem.? ?Today I connected a cisco?CBW240AC-Z WAP and have no problems accessing all my devices but completely randomly, Dante Controller stops working.? Does not show any devices at all.? Connect back via a cable and it works fine.? Also noted that Shure Device Discovery stops working at the same time, as well as QSYS device discovery.?

Eventually, I will connect back over wifi and Dante controller is happy again, same for the other two programs.? ?Until it drops again eventually.? ?Its just weird that it works flawlessly and then eventually craps out.? Watching the port stats in the switch, I am definitely not flooding any ports.? ?

Even when those programs stop functioning, wireless access is flawless and I can connect to any device, still control the system, audio keeps running.? ?I'm hoping its just a simple config setting ive missed in the switch.? Although, from everything I read, everyone says Dante Controller and wireless is a big no no.?

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.?

Cheers

Scott?

We?re using a Miele dishwasher and washing machine at home. Up to now, they are notifying via app that they are finished which is useful.

It has a REST API to interface with 3d party systems ¨C I didn?t find the time yet to integrate them into my Crestron system, but it?s on the list.

Let me just add one other thing.? Using energy monitors to tell you when an appliance is done is not as simple as it would at first seem.? First of all, appliances all use some power 24x7.? On top of that, a cleaning cycle is broken down into smaller sections that each use a different amount of power.? A clothes washer is a good example.? It fills the tub, agitates the clothes.? spins to remove water from the clothes, etc.? In between these sections of the cleaning cycle are gaps where power usage drops to the same level as the machine uses while idle.? If the homeowner wants the notification to be as close as possible to the time when the cycle ends you need to look at energy usage as a pattern and only send a notification when the measured power use matches that pattern.?

The simplest major appliance I've found to setup notifications for is a clothes dryer.? The clothes and dishwashers are more complicated.

Contemporary Research 232-ATSC +4 v1.3.1

Has anyone had any luck with this module recalling cable channel presets?? I have tried both using the parameters at the bottom and then pulsing the preset number and then using an sio (with \x0A as the delimiter) to drive the Channel Preset Text In part of the module.? In the first case, I would not see any channel change or tx string from the module.? In the second instance, I would only see what I put into the module from the sio but no channel change.? All other functions I am using for the tuner are working properly.

Re: NVX switch recommendations #nvx

Look through the Extreme X440-G2 series to see if there is a model with the port counts you need.? Very little to no configuration needed if you're just using a single switch with NVX.

Re: NVX switch recommendations #nvx

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

It depends on how many of each you¡¯re working with.

?

I¡¯d start looking at the Catalyst 9500 series and it¡¯s real easy to do up to 48 copper ports and 8 fiber (using a C9500-NM-8X/C9300-NM-8M network module) in a single switch. If you need more than 8 fiber you could either go with a SFP only switch like the C9500-40X and populate the copper ports with GLC-T SFP transceivers (expensive and clunky, IMO) or stack a C9500-40X (40 SFP/SFP+) or -16X (16 SFP/SFP+) with a C9500-48Y4C (48 1/10/25G ports with 4 100G ports)

?

Since the 9500 doesn¡¯t have a dedicated stack port/technology and uses stackwise virtual you¡¯d need to make sure you have enough interfaces with enough bandwidth available to create a virtual stack ¨C this of course depends on the number of encoders on each switch.

I do not know if this has be asked before. I am doing a commercial project and I was looking to use a mix of Fiber and copper connections for NVX. Does any one have a recommendation for a single switch from?extreme networks or cisco that could do both? Or do I need two switches and link them together?

Re: UC Engine - Multiple platforms

Hi John,?

My personal preference would be the QSC Core 110f or the new smaller Flex DSP, if this caters for the number of inputs required. Provides all the features and can easily be integrated with Crestron.?

Yanking the DSP is going to happen, guaranteed!? What would be your go to with the USB that the 1282 has and Crestron controllable?? Tesira?? The DSP is mainly for the mixing of microphones to the computer.? The camera is connected to the computer via USB.? Was thinking a UC system which would allow me to remove the microphones, computer and DSP all together.

Just did a system with four switches and fiber ran to connect all of them, We used the Extreme 220 switches? with 10gig fiber ports and everything seems to be working great.? Only thing to note would be in Crestrons switch config guide there is nothing about setting up querier for the VLAN and this will have to be done if using multiple switches
