Denon AVR - Slider vs Vol Up/Down
?I figure I'm doing something foolish but could use some advice.? I run all my interfaces through Control Crosspoints and the Source equipment through Equipment crosspoints (many rooms to many sources but only one of each at a time).? I have no issues with the feedback if I have a remote (TSR/MTX) and a panel (TSW or Phone App with analog sliders) using a swamp but with my Denon AVR's I get a feedback loop that takes a minute or two to settle. Things work fine using the vol +/- buttons and the feedback, but when I go to a panel select a Denon room the volume starts jumping (does not do this on SWAMP rooms).
I suspect the Control - Equipment connection drives the feedback out of sync and causes a loop while it catches up but I'm not sure.? I've played around with buffers to try and stabilize this but they induce other problems.? I think I've tried forcing refreshes on the crosspoints as well but in all honesty I've lost track of all the things I've done. Is there a simple way around this?? The next thing I'm thinking is to use a buffer on the interface side that receives the raw output of the denon analog vol bypassing the crosspoints and when enabled pushes that to the feedback but it seems I'm probably missing something, in a standalone theater with dedicated panels and remotes this method works.? I tend to use different names for the volume similar to lighting Volume Bar An FB / Volume Bar Set Level.? I've wrapped myself around the axle on this one so much that I'm dizzy and I've yet to master the Denon IP modules between AVR Connected/ UI Denon and the actual HW modules so maybe I have a setting wrong there too?? Demo program hasn't helped much either.? I've learned to live with this, but the wife is now annoyed with it so it must be fixed... Thanks |
Re: CP3 Ethernet Issues
We saw this issue occur in a system where we had 4 Shure MXA910 Dante ceiling mic arrays and a QSC Core110f DSP.? We had to configure IGMP snooping and multicast forwarding on the managed switch port that the CP3 was connected to or it would shut off the LAN port.

Re: CP3 Ethernet Issues
Like Lincoln said, you have a network issue that has more traffic than CP3 can handle.?
Usually it is because of a broadcast storm that is caused by a loop in your network.? Common sources of devices that cause network loops if not configured correctly are? , TiVo players with MoCA built in and Sonos systems.? I suspect the same thing can happen with DirecTV systems with an Ethernet bridge installed.? But if you have a DM-NVX in the system and you don't have your Ethernet switch configured correctly, the DM-NVX can flood your other devices with multicast traffic. Or you may have a loop in your network switches (assuming one or more of them don't support spanning tree protocol).? For example, Switch A has a connection to Switch B and Switch C and there is also a connection between Switch B and Switch C.? When a broadcast packet occurs, it will start traveling in a loop around between Switch A->B->C->A->B->C and so forth forever.? But that same type of loop can occur with other devices such as Sono in the mix that have multiple network adapters. But I have also seen a failing network switch or a customer device such as a blue ray player fail and flood the network with packets and Wireshark may not show the issue.? In this case, I usually just have to just disconnecting devices until the network starts working again. Sonos in particular uses an older STP protocol that is incompatible with a lot of network devices.? They will create a loop between Sonos wireless link and the Ethernet connection.? Your best bet with Sonos is to go in all the Sonos devices with an Ethernet connection and disable the WiFi adapter in them. |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYou could comment out any module that looks like it could be causing trouble and load the program. Keep commenting out things until the processor starts without error.?Then one-by-one uncomment the modules and reload the program until you find the culprit.? It¡¯ll probably be a module that uses S# so that might narrow down your search.? On 17 Jan 2021, at 15:03, Sharan Suvarna via groups.io <suvarnasharan@...> wrote:

Those Data aborts must be whats causing your issue. Run SPLUSTASKS and look for a Thread ID that matches one in your Exception Data Abort errors- in your case Thread-Id=09e60146. You will need to run it before the program resets as the Thread ID will change when the program restarts. When you find a Thread ID from the exception that matches one in SPLUSTASKS it will show you a module location in your program- that is the module causing the data aborts and probably your issues.?But the strange thing is the processor throws the "Data Abort" error along with the thread ID when I try to find it by using the SPLUSTASKS?command I am not getting that? Data Abort's thread ID so that I can pinpoint the SIMPL+ module even before the program restarts. I there something I am missing ??? Please let me know |

Autonomic Coverart Issue
I currently have an Autonomic MMS-1e.? Recently I noticed that the coverart isn't displaying on my TPS-6L.? It used to work fine but now shows a spinning loading wheel.? The strange thing is that the coverart works fine on my Xpanel so it is something specific related to the 6L but I haven't changed anything with the programming.? I use the default program from the Autonomic website.? I know the 6L is old so I'm wondering if it is a cache storage issue or something similar.? Does anybody know how I would go into diagnosing the problem? Thanks. |
Re: CP3 Ethernet Issues
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýEthernet watchdog is virtually always a network issue, specifically broadcast/multicast storms. Do you have AVoIP devices (e.g. NVX, Dante, etc. on the same VLAN)? If so make very sure that IGMP, etc. is properly configured on all switches. ? If I recall correctly the dwRxPacketReceived values indicate that it¡¯s receiving more than 4400 packets per second which is not typical. ? If you fire up wireshark on a hardwired connection on the same VLAN it should be largely quiescent ¨C some ARPing and other housekeeping traffic at? trickle ¨C if you are seeing a constant stream from one or more IPs/MACs, there¡¯s hard evidence of the problem I¡¯m describing. ? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D ? Re: CP3 Ethernet Issues
Hi Guys,
Even I facing the same issue in couple of places, the CP3 errlogs is flooded with watchdog errors. I don't know how to resolve this. When I asked help? from the crestron true blue support they just say its the network issue, the network is getting flooded with traffic. I don't think that's the case because the sane issue cannot be happening in all my clients place at the same time. FECTimer: Ethernet disabled by watchdog
FECTimer: ETH RX re-enabled by watchdog

Processors Losing IP table
I've had a rash of processors losing the IP table on a power cycle of the processor in the last couple of months. It's mainly been dmps 250/350's with firmwares 1.08.016 & 2.01.052 and cp3n's with 1.601.0050 & 1.603.0113. I tried the newest firmwares because that's TB response for everything and I've still encountered the issue.?
Anyone else having this issue or know of a resolution? Thanks. |
Re: Sonos AMP Discrete ARC Access
Yeah I was pretty excited when I tripped over that single IR code. We were in the middle of a pretty large Sonos install when the customer wanted to add local TV sound to a few rooms...it really saved my ass. Nice thing is it works every single time. Ive even been using IR for volume control lately and only relying on the volatile Crestron module for FB and basic control. This way ensures than WHEN the module fails the customer can still watch TV and control the volume.

Re: Sony UBP-X1100ES Power-On issue
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI?m using WOL successfully on other devices, so i don?t think i?m doing something wrong. I?ve also tried a WOL-tool on my PC which I use for testing ¨C that also doesn?t work reliable. And i?ve found some other posts on the internet mention that WOL only works once after a power-cycle. So there seems to be something. If it?s working 100% with you, i?d really interested how. I?ve now installed IR as a fallback just for powering up the player, but it would be nice if it would work completely via LAN. In this installation the player is sitting right below the processor so cabling is not an issue, but there can be other projects where this is not the case. ? Cheers, Thorsten ? Von: [email protected] <[email protected]> Im Auftrag von rickwookie ? Ok well I think I¡¯m using the UDP client directly to do the WOL and it works. I¡¯ll have a look later and post an update. |
Re: Sony UBP-X1100ES Power-On issue
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI?m using a WOL symbol provided by TB. It works sometimes (so I guess it?s doing the right thing), but not always¡ ? The HDMI setting I mentioned in my previous mail didn?t help¡ I?ll probably send ?the power-on command via IR ¨C the X1100 has a IR-plug on the back so that?s not a real issue. ? ? Von: [email protected] <[email protected]> Im Auftrag von rickwookie ? Only works via WOL for me (UK version of the player). Perhaps you¡¯re doing the WOL wrong. How are you doing it? |
