Re: LiftMaster MyQ Garage Door openers

When you press the button on a LiftMaster wall controller it doesn¡¯t cause the opener to flash its lights or make any noise.? If the contract closure adapter is sending the same commands then there is an issue.? On the other hand if it sends commands that mimic what MyQ sends the the opener should give the proper audible and visual warnings.?

If the contact closure adapter doesn¡¯t supply warnings the it is going to be up to the Crestron dealer to provide that as part of their overall solution.

Wait until the 20th and I¡¯ll show you an alternative to the Crestron?INETS-IOEX-DOOR-BATT-W for under $20 ?

If you're talking about the device in the document I had posted, I should expect that it would do what you mention. It is a liftmaster 'smart' button talking MyQ protocol to the opener - i.e. it's essentially a simple stand-alone wall control so that the opener should do what it does when opening or closing. the 3rd party guy is just good at soldering!...:)? ?

And RE: wireless contacts for door status, I just remembered that Crestron now has an EX unit. It has its own magnet, or can use an optional external switch to its internal contact.
Not cheap at $ 240 MSRP, but much simpler than integrating thru a security system...

Re: Ptz optics 20x

Use a negative transition gate to send a stop command upon the signal going low. That has yielded some good results for me in the past.

Presets normally do not need to stop, they will do so when they reach the desired position.

Re: Occupancy/motion sensor

look into the basalte auro (?not sure of hte size, but i know its very small. Also designed for residential, so not sure how your application is. Does work with crestron?

Re: GLS-LCCT

I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully, I'll get it to work somehow.

Re: GLS-LCCT

It's meant to report circadian color temperature, not light intensity.
You can even get intensity off of a GLS-ODT-C-CN if you have any on the project.
Otherwise, the lux value may provide some functionality?to this. Probably watch/test in debugger and fine tune with a scaler.

Occupancy/motion sensor

I am trying to replace a ceiling mounted BEG automation PD11-KNX-FLAT bus occupancy sensor with something compatible with Crestron. ?Problem is it fits into a roughly 2" diameter hole in a concrete ceiling (no modification to structure allowed). ?I am having no luck finding something that would fit. ?Any reference to a compatible product would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Re: LiftMaster MyQ Garage Door openers

Evan Kontos

Ive been using that IOEX for garage doors and it depends upon whether youre doing it with PYNG or with Simpl.? When you first start the system PYNG is confused with the signal it receives as to whether the door is open or closed.? You have to cycle it once to make sure.? THAT is a problem if you are remote and trying to open your door remotely.? A camera in the garage would be good in addition to the magnetic contact for safety purposes.

Re: Ptz optics 20x

I used the one pulled off the ptz optics website.? Did your module come from crestron ??

Re: WOL not working on CP4

Yes, I said "maybe".?? Usually when something doesn't work in Linux, it is a permission problem.? In Thorsten error log, it had an "access denied" message indicating it was a permission problem.? But it could very well be something else as no one but Crestron knows how the inner workings work in a Crestron processor.

Don¡¯t know specifically but is there a stop command that must be sent on button release?

Hello set a few of these up and ran into some issues.? For starters the module off their website did not function properly.? Tons of errors and the commands were not written properly.

There was an extra letter and the ptz speed set in the parameters also failed to properly allocate inside the makestring.

I was able to write the commands necessary myself but am having the following issue.

Using pan, tilt, or zoom as a single button press drives the camera as far as it can go almost as if the button is being held down even though it isn't.? What is the way around this? Is their a certain logic symbol I should be using??

Re: Ptz optics 20x

Okay,

I'll look into that thank you

Re: LiftMaster MyQ Garage Door openers

Thinking about this a little more I have a question.? If you use the LiftMaster dry contact device is the LiftMaster opener smart enough to flash its lights and make a beeping sound (the way it does if a close command is sent using MyQ) when the garage door is going to close?? This is an important safety feature to make people, even if they are hearing or visually impaired, aware that the garage overhead door is being remotely told to close and there isn't a human there to make sure it is safe.?

Otherwise the smart home platform needs to implement both audible and visual warnings or the homeowner has a liability issue with this solution.??

Thanks

Jay?

I took a look at the uploaded pdf this morning and it looks like a really good solution.? I didn't find this device during my research for the article I wrote and I don't believe that a lot of other people, even in the garage door opener industry, know about it either.? What I found was that people making 3rd party devices that integrate with LiftMaster openers were hacking a visor transmitter and soldering wires across the button contacts to integrate their devices with a Liftmaster opener.??

I personally have been using a magnetic garage door contact connected to a wireless alarm door/window sensor that has a set of contact closure inputs to provide open/close feedback of my garage overhead door.? The wireless door/window sensor connects to a non-alarm zone of my alarm panel that is integrated with my Crestrons system.? It very reliably provides open/close status of the garage overhead door without having to run an extra wire to that remote location.

Here is a teaser.? My next article is about some inexpensive, wireless IoT devices that could easily be used to both monitor a magnetic garage door sensor and trigger the lift master dry contact adapter.? There will also be a Crestron driver included with the article.? For more, you'll just have to wait until January 20th for the article :-)

I have used this also, and it works well. I also tried the module posted by ckangis and it also works well so far.? What's missing is the status of the door or a change in the status of the doors. Right now we use magnetic contacts, but can be a pain on retro work.
