Re: Crestron Home KNX driver

You could support KNX by using an extension device class, but it will only be a second class citizen to Crestron Home.

For this kind of integration I think you should really lobby Crestron to have them either support KNX lighting natively, or release lighting templates into the driver framework.

Re: Curl formatting

Whenever I¡¯m having issues getting an https or http command to work but I have a curl command that works fine I send the curl command to webhooks.

Then I can see the correct headers, etc so I can format the https/http command correctly?

Hope this helps?

Re: Somfy SDN control via CP3

On the CP3 you can only use port #1, Ground to Ground, TX to the 485 (-) and RTS to the 485 (+)

Do you have the correct wiring?

Somfy SDN control via CP3

I am trying to fix an issue on an existing system with a CP3 and a Somfy SDN control via RS 485, we've troubleshooted all the paths of the signal and nothing seems to work from the CP3, but via RS485 from a laptop with the Somfy software the shades work. Any ideas what could be wrong? One weird thing is that i get \x00 back from Somfy on the 485 port RX.

HTML5 development for iPad

So, I have a great client that employs a couple of developers for his business and has approached me about having them develop his personal ipad gui.? I don't even know enough to be dangerous at this point and am even more confused after talking with TB.? So here goes.

1.? If this is even feasible
2.? How is it deployed and matched up to simpl program.
3.? How exactly would it run on a ipad
4.? Will the system require a SW-MOBILITY subscription

Re: Dish Network

I reached out to Frank @ Dish and made him aware of the number of systems that were "broken" for me. As AVMaster mentioned, Dish is aware and working on finding a solution with Crestron. At the very least, he asked for all the receiver IDs that I was servicing so they can prioritize pushing a patch out once available. I would encourage all to reach out to him so we can emphasize how big of a problem this is.

Cisco Room Kit Plus/4.0 module # of active calls

Hello, integrating some existing code in a secure installation, and i'm having an issue. The original codebase was using pre .200 database Cisco SX80 modules, and I've updated to use the RoomDevice 4.0 module since they're going with Room Kit Plus units now. They're on 9.5.1.

Dialing, hanging up, etc. seems to be working, BUT I have an issue where apparently the module itself doesn't correctly register the number of active calls. It works and it doesn't.user can make single or multi-way calls, call features work, calls can hang up and you can see the commands going out to the codec and actually doing their thing. BUT, the active calls in the multi-way call screen don't fully clear. The module still thinks it has active calls. So, say, you make a call and hang up... then call again, the new call is placed in the slot for call 2, and there's a phantom call in slot 1. It only clears when you restart the program, usually done by cycling power on the CP3N. I also had an issue with the camera presets not saving/recalling, so adding hard-coded commands to do that actually kicked the call function free---after loading that code, the calls deprecated perfectly when you hung up. I found, however, that another device module wholly unrelated to this now suddenly didn't work. I moved the module to the bottom of the Simpl Windows folders---recompile, it works now. But the calling broke again. Phantom calls stack up until you can't place a call anymore, and I don't have a way to reset it other than rebooting the processor, which is not a long-term solution. The site is 600 miles away and i'm not there--- the closest tech is 100 miles away and since it's a secure facility I can't remote in, but he can load code, run debugger, and has access to a phone he can dial me on.

Any ideas? I'm stumped.

Re: Apple TV Home button

No, Im using the Generic CEC Source Control V1.0 and the "Media Top Menu" command. Set to address "4 - playback device 1" at the bottom.

The Appletv CEC module I tried and I want to say it didn't go to home. Remember you have to go one the appletv to: ?Settings > Remotes and Devices > Home button (change from Apple TV App [default] to Home Screen )?

Re: Dish Network

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I have been using the IP module since Dish started doing the CEDIA custom install thing and after seeing this thread I keep waiting for it to break but it still works.? I am running it on an MC3, so firmware is really old, and I have not recently recompiled the program so that may have something to do with it.

?

Maybe try using 1.502 ish firmware and compile using 4.11 and old databases to see if it is on Crestron side . . .

So I just tried this at two different locations and couldn¡¯t reproduce those results. ?No matter how fast or repeatedly the command was sent I could not get either to respond. ?A bunch of information in debugger about user name and password along with some other information but definitely no response. ?It would really benefit everyone if you would send your issues to Frank DeFilippis at Dish. ?It sounds like he¡¯s trying to get it working but needs some information from the field to expedite the process. ?Send me a PM and I¡¯ll give you his email address.

Re: Samsung CCD IP Driver

yes, correct model #, not on the Crestron list, but can't believe different from the 7000 or 8000 series
yes, enabled IP control
same subnet - wireless

i did set the delays, shorter than the numbers in the dat file - you would think that those would be the defaults

enabled logging - nothing

Re: Crestron Home KNX driver

Hello,

I found some information on Ultamation page:
"This is a particular consideration for Crestron Home.? Crestron Home uses the "Crestron Certified Driver" framework for device drivers which you could look at as a driver being block of a certain shape that will only fit into the hole of the corresponding shape in Crestron Home.? So - displays have one shape, cable boxes have a different shape and some things simply don't have a shape at all.? To make things more confusing, Crestron Home does support some device types, such as lighting, HVAC or media streamers that?aren't available for driver developers and have to be "baked into" the Crestron Home product.? Lutron and Sonos are examples of this."

Is there some chance to develop lighjting driver for CH?

Roku IP Control over different VLAN's #crestron

Hi All,

I have a requirement of having Roku in one VLAN and Crestron controller is another VLAN. Will the Roku communicate with Crestron controller if i just give Inter VLAN for these VLAN's???
The Roku Crestron module uses IP address to communicate with the Roku.

Re: Sonos AMP Discrete ARC Access

Instrinsic's response came in this morning, see below.

Its on the wish list to be added to the driver, but Sonos sales are declining as most dealers dont use it anymore. I cant guarantee it'll be added.

Re: Sonos AMP Discrete ARC Access

This sounds ideal however I haven't been able to find the "Sonos Digital" module anywhere in SIMPL. Any additional help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Sonos AMP Discrete ARC Access

Trey, thanks for the suggestion. I find that a RasberryPi interface great for a number of applications like advertisement blocking. In general I try to accomplish tasks with the fewest hops as possible and was hoping for a more native solution.?
