Re: Please Help with IR Emitter output Pro 2 completely stumped and frustrated :)
I have had issues with certain brands of IR flashers not working.? In particular, some flashers cannot handle the current that Crestron delivers.? They may work to begin with but eventually fail.??? I have had the best luck with Xantech IR flashers so I recommend you pick some of those up and give them a try,?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýCut off the plug or buy a socket that has bare wires to the pro2.? Cutting the plug is easier

Subject: [crestron] Please Help with IR Emitter output Pro 2 completely stumped and frustrated :)
Hi I have a Pro 2, from it via the Infrared serial output ports.? I had in slots A? DVD player, Slot B? PVR 2, Slot E PVR 1, Slot F? Sony Receiver, and finally Slot H a 4K player.
They were all hooked up via IR emitters with an eye without any issues.? Suddenly unexplained the control of PVR 1 ( Slot E) over the last few days began to lose control.?? Here are the steps I tried to diagnose and fix problems. 1. Un plug from 8 slot Phoenix connector the PVR 1 and reconnect 2.? Switch IR emitters from work components previously to PVR 1? ? 3.? Used 2 and 4 port Phoenix connectors 4.? Swapped out PVR with tested working one? from other room in house and still not working except with actual PVR remote pointed at it 5. Unplugged Pro 2 6.? Did Hardware reset on Pro 2 7.? Swapped out every possible combinations of different emitters I thought were working. Basically I have tried everything possible over the last 20 hours and still no luck some minor control but wont load guide, change channels very fast etc... However now after trying to hook up 4K player and Sony receiver now how they were hooked up before now they have no control either.? I am at my end for new ideas.? Here are my questions now 1.? Is it possible with all the swapping out of emitters all cables could of failed now? 2.? Could it be the Serial output 8 port slot in Pro 2 that has disconnected or failed since aI removed plug so many times? 3.? Do you have to use a Crestron IRP2 infrared Emitter exclusively, I have not idea if these are Crestron to me they our third party but not sure? 4.? I have a lot of ER emitters I can try out from previous equipment components but they all end in a 3.5 plug?? Any way to make these work? 5.? If it is emitters where I can I buy third party emitters as unable to get official Crestron parts locally, can buy online but long shipping time and prices quite inflated on some sites. 6. Is it recommended to have black tape over emitter or not to have code or signal send to player? Lastly any other help or tips or ideas to help gain back control of three components greatly appreciated as the more I trouble shoot the more I am breaking things? AHHHHH:) Thank You Oil Country ? |

Roomview Connected Displays and Flash
Just curious what to do about Roomview Connected Displays after support for Flash ends this year? I know Crestron is releasing updates for their equipment but have any projector manufacturers (namely Epson) put out firmware updates with a new non-Flash interface?

Re: AppleTV Context Menu Access
The one I'm using is named "Apple Apple TV 4th GenXEN.ir" and has the following commands: cursor_down, cursor_up, cursor_left, cursor_right, select, ffwd, rew, menu_home, menu, options, output_resolution, play-pause, ffwd_10x, rew_10x, restart, stop, time_display, and diagnostic_logs I
thought it came from the application market, but I may be
misremembering.? I have another one named "Apple_TV.ir" that has just 7
commands, which sounds like the one you just downloaded. Geoff On Mon, Nov 23, 2020 at 2:31 PM web1111a via <web1111a=[email protected]> wrote: I just downloaded the applicaton market one and all I see are up down left right menu and play pause |
Re: Crestron Module 4 for Lifesize Icon 300/500/700
Their website says to contact your Lifesize Partner to get it. We completed the module+demo program and turned it over a few months ago. I'm not sure why it's not available either on their website or on the marketplace yet and I don't want to distribute anything without their blessing. Re: AppleTV Context Menu Access
The IR driver that's in the application market includes all of those, I believe (except maybe the Diagnostic Logs command) and none of them bring up the Context Menu.? I also put the Ultimation module back into my program over the weekend and hooked up only the Context Menu button - that doesn't seem to open the Context Menu either.? But I'll take a look at the
Global Cache - Control Tower IR Database later this afternoon and see if any of the commands are different from what I already have. Thanks! Re: AppleTV Context Menu Access
I haven't tried any of these codes yet, but it's worth trying the code sets from the Global Cache - Control Tower IR Database.
They have one of the largest code databases that I've used. Some of the interesting codes included for the Apple TV Gen 4 are: "Menu Home", "Menu Main", "Options" (might work), "Diagnostic Logs" (???), "Output Resolution", "Play Forward 10x", "Play Reverse 10x", and "Restart". Many of these codes, I never knew existed. Hope this helps! |

Re: DirecTV Receivers - Keeping them awaks
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThe thing you need to do is to go into the settings on the DTV rx and turn off power saving.? It needs to be checked every once in a while as sometimes a software update will reset it to on.? Note that even if power saving is on they will still record a scheduled recording.? Active is a command for something like interactive services, definitely not the right thing to send.? Better to send an occasional power on as there are discretes available.? If the only concern is to have a picture show up when the unit is first selected for viewing I recommend sending a power on every time it is selected just to make sure. ? ? ? ? ? ? DirecTV Receivers - Keeping them awaks
Hello,
We have an install with quite a few DirecTV receivers which the client wants to keep awake at all times. They are being controlled by IP, and the module has an "Active" command it can send out, but not having any hands on experience with DirecTV, is this the correct key to send and how often would I need to send it to keep the receivers awake? Thanks |
