Re: Crestron Module 4 for Lifesize Icon 300/500/700

Their website says to contact your Lifesize Partner to get it. We completed the module+demo program and turned it over a few months ago. I'm not sure why it's not available either on their website or on the marketplace yet and I don't want to distribute anything without their blessing.

Re: AppleTV Context Menu Access

The IR driver that's in the application market includes all of those, I believe (except maybe the Diagnostic Logs command) and none of them bring up the Context Menu.? I also put the Ultimation module back into my program over the weekend and hooked up only the Context Menu button - that doesn't seem to open the Context Menu either.? But I'll take a look at the Global Cache - Control Tower IR Database later this afternoon and see if any of the commands are different from what I already have.

Thanks!

They have one of the largest code databases that I've used.
Some of the interesting codes included for the Apple TV Gen 4 are:
"Menu Home", "Menu Main", "Options" (might work), "Diagnostic Logs" (???), "Output Resolution", "Play Forward 10x", "Play Reverse 10x", and "Restart".
Many of these codes, I never knew existed.

Hope this helps!

Hi All,
Can someone tell me what the input command is for the on-board HEOS streamer - I can't find the updated protocol anywhere and their tech support says they're closed...:(

TIA!

Re: DirecTV Receivers - Keeping them awaks

The thing you need to do is to go into the settings on the DTV rx and turn off power saving.? It needs to be checked every once in a while as sometimes a software update will reset it to on.? Note that even if power saving is on they will still record a scheduled recording.? Active is a command for something like interactive services, definitely not the right thing to send.? Better to send an occasional power on as there are discretes available.? If the only concern is to have a picture show up when the unit is first selected for viewing I recommend sending a power on every time it is selected just to make sure.

DirecTV Receivers - Keeping them awaks

Hello,

We have an install with quite a few DirecTV receivers which the client wants to keep awake at all times.

They are being controlled by IP, and the module has an "Active" command it can send out, but not having any hands on experience with DirecTV, is this the correct key to send and how often would I need to send it to keep the receivers awake?

Thanks

go direct to lifesize, they have a module ready. its labelled 'lifesize icon clish SSH v1.0.0' module is made by status controls.

Re: Crestron Module 4 for Lifesize Icon 300/500/700

BlackTee Design made the 600/800 version currently on the marketplace, maybe ask them

Re: Has anyone built a DISH IP control module?

I know this is a very old post, but was this module working with the Wally HD? Dish doesn't have a very cohesive naming convention for their receivers and it seems like multiple devices have been named the Wally.?

Re: Crestron Module 4 for Lifesize Icon 300/500/700

i got a rs232 module from lifesize that works, there is no ip version at this moment

Re: Crestron Module 4 for Lifesize Icon 300/500/700

Current Market Modules are not for the new Icon 300/500/700 for the API has changed a bit and asking Lifesize support regarding Module 4, I was told to ask Crestron but Crestron isn't aware of any new modules.

Re: AppleTV Context Menu Access

No worries Oliver.

I'm finding that update notices on the AppleTV are getting much more aggressive with auto updates disabled.? The latest one is pestering me every time I start the system up and sometimes again in the middle of watching something.

Re: samsung digital display QE50T RS232 protocol #crestron

Just a thought....

have you set the ID on the TV according to the command you are sending? Also is baud rate correct on your two way serial??

Looking forward to the update.?

Have you by chance managed to work out how to launch specific apps ?

Appreciate the response.? Will play with this a bit tomorrow and hopefully be able to figure it out.

Thank you.

This is one of those things that is trivial to do in SIMPL# -- and is far more resilient that way -- but if this is all you¡¯re doing (or you don¡¯t already know SIMPL# / have the dev tools) it can be done in SIMPL+ as well (as long as it can be done via HTTP with no or basic authentication, HTTPS, or digest authentication basically forces the hand to SIMPL#.

You¡¯ll need to open the connection to the device, send the request headers and body in one string ¨C chances are very good that the server will require additional headers (like content type, connection keep-alive, and possibly language, etc). If you search the group¡¯s acrchive there are plenty of general examples, or it might be most helpful to generate a request with a tool like Postman and see what it¡¯s generating ¨C this also allows you to test various things without having to recompile and reload a program each time.

The ¡±do I have to send the whole thing¡± is extremely implementation dependent ¨C and since every Tascam I¡¯ve controlled has been via serial ¨C I would try sending only the changed attributes first but be prepared to send the entire object ¨C I¡¯d say a majority of implementations I¡¯ve come across require the entire thing, which seems counter productive and prone to introduce greater levels of error but hey, whaddiknow?

Subject: [crestron] Tascam Rest Api

?

Hi guys,

Don't have much experience with REST API's hoping I can just get a bit of info.

Here is an example command from the API.

I know I will be told to get this done through simpl# however I have never used it so that may be tough.? I was hoping I can write this in SIMPL+.? Just basically looking for a quick rundown, can I use a TCP/IP Client to connect on port 80 or do I need to connect inside the SIMPL+ module?

Also, it has the PUT url, then the header, and then body.? I am not sure how to format this inside simpl+.? Can I simply use a makestring and send the entire thing out at once, or do I need to send the PUT, wait for a response, and then send the rest?? A small breakdown of format would be extremely helpful.

Lastly, does an API typically require commands for every parameter to be sent? Or if I am not adjusting the IP settings can I just leave them out of the code entirely?

Thanks so much in advance.
