Re: DM NVX POE Power failing

Hi Bryan,

Have you tried using either a simple PoE injector or basic PoE switch with the problem NVX units? ?2 failing seems unlikely. ? Whilst we dont use NVX we use a number of Encoders on networks and we have experienced lots of problems with Cisco switches, if they are not set up correctly then the port blocking can kick in and stop devices having network access or poe by automatically blocking them by MAC address. ? This has typically happened if the rtsp stream is flooding the network or we have tried the device on different switch ports. ?The switch responds by thinking its a hack and blocks the device and kills PoE etc etc.

i would firstly try.

1. the devices in the PoE injector / simple PoE switch
2. reboot the cisco switch if this does not affect the rest of your network.
3. check the switch logs for blocked devices.
4. ?If you can downgrade the firmware on the NVX after that its always an option to test

rgds steve?

DM NVX POE Power failing

Hi,

I have had 2 DM-NVX-35X devices that will no longer operate with UPOE power.? ?I have plugged another DM-NVX-35X device into the same Ethernet and it functions fine.? ?If I use the AC Adapter with either of the failed DM-NVX-35X devices and they work fine.? ?I am using the latest firmware on both of the DM-NVX-35X devices that have failed.

Anyone else experience these types of failures.

I am using? Cisco C9300-48U-E switches

Thx
Bryan

Re: Optical to Dante and Dante to Digital #dante

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

You may be best served looking at a Dante-enabled DSP ¨C assuming that you want stereo (2-channels) from each TV you need something that can accept/convert 16 channels of Dante. (if you only care about mono, then of course, you only need 8 channels)¡ something like a QSC Q-Sys Core with the Software Dante license would get this in one rack space (8 fixed line outputs + 8 flex IO that in this case would be configured as all outputs) ¨C sure you¡¯re leaving a lot of processing power on the table, but if clean is what you want¡

?

If you want to avoid the DSP route the RDL AV-NL4 or Shure ANI4OUT would be the first options that come to mind but both are only 4 channels each so you¡¯d have to rack at least two (8 displays mono) or four (8 displays stereo) to make the channel count you need.

This looks reasonable and functional.?

Are you aware of any headend products that would be rack mounted and distribute 8 Dante inputs to 8 Digital Outputs.

I actually have 8 TV locations to convert from digital to Dante and looking to keep it clean at tha rack.

Re: Samsung QE series & Samsung IP Display v1.3 driver #samsung

I've just tried this driver again but this time on a Samsung Frame TV. This newer driver (Samsung_UN55LS03N SmartTV_3.0.000.0021IP) indeed wants the MAC address on UserAttribute_2. You just need to observer the Userattribute_n_Description signals to see what's wanted where:

UserAttribute_1_Description: The NU7, RU7 and RU9000 models do not support ArtMode commands and will ignore them.
?
UserAttribute_2_Description: This is required to turn the Display on. Please provide in the format of AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF
?
UserAttribute_3_Description: To configure for IP control, use TV remote and press Home button, navigate to Settings > General > Network > Expert Settings, turn on "Power On with Mobile" and enable "IP Remote" settings. Then follow Enable Instructions
?
UserAttribute_4_Description: To enable IP control, begin with TV powered on, then while driver is being loaded, look at TV for message to allow IP Remote control, use TV remote to select Allow, for control
?
UserAttribute_5_Description: Since this device uses Wake On LAN to power it on, the driver can have an extended warmup time where control may not be available for several tens of seconds. Please note this for this driver.
?

However, it won't connect (Connection_F is low).

Has anyone got this working with a Samsung Frame TV?

Hi,

i?m using the Videostorm IRUSB to control FireTV via LAN. Perhaps that?s an option too:

The Cube is on the list of supported devices.

Yeah - the MC-12 was from about 19 years ago and Lexicon's own platform.

Re: Cresnet keypads becoming unresponsive

You really need to put a CHX-HUB or DIN-HUB in the system.? I usually put one in when the device count gets over 20.? The absolute maximum is something like 26 at which point you are exceeding the maximum fan out that the drivers are rated for.

But given that, I would use the Network Analyzer in tool box to check the keypads.? You can do that on the CP3 I believe however processors like the MC3 do not support that function.? It will catch things like a shorted or open Y or Z data line.? Better yet, if you have a digital oscilloscope with a serial decoder, trigger on the devices that are giving issues and see what the levels are like.? Common issue I have seen are loose connections on the power, ground, and data lines causing all types of issues -- many that are intermittent.? Even just using a DC volt meter and measure the voltage on power, ground, and data lines with respect to ground at the processor and comparing it to what you see at the keypad can help -- they both should read the same.

Re: Amazon Fire TV Cube IR File

I believe that the IR was originally from the Microsoft Windows Media Center remote control.

I can confirm that CEC does work very well as long as Amazon doesn't break it with an update.
