Sending an email with a Crestron Processor

Hi, I'm trying to send an email notification with a Crestron processor but I'm having problems finding a non encrypted non SSL service(since Crestron doesn't support authentication), any help on which email service is working for this purpose would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Control of Elan equipment with Crestron

Dustin,

Thankyou very much for your response and help.

From the looks of it. I will have to strip out all the Elan equipment and replace it with Crestron except for the tuner.?

Best regards,
Nirav

DT22: has RS-232 protocol listed in the manual (yes you can use this).

HC12: This is Elan's version of a processor (as fas I know, no you can't).
M86a: Only talks with Elan components over ViaNet (I know the S86a you can use).
C2: Only talks with Elan components of ViaNet (I don't think you can use this).

Re: V24R-Wall and DGE2

Thanks, All for your responses

Just an FYI if you're in my situation, I contacted Wall-Smart and they will make a custom retro flush kit for this at a pretty reasonable price. They will make a version or their 2220 kit with a custom/larger bezel that will allow me to use the 2220 in place of the V24R-WALL, filling the hole.

If you need this solution, or any other flush-mount solutions for Crestron TouchPanels or Keypads, or iPADs, etc. Check them out. I have had good luck with them:

Re: LG Display IP Control WOL

I think the port was 9761 from memory. The udp port I used for wol was 9.

But you do need to enable WOL in the displays installer menu which you may have already done.

Control of Elan equipment with Crestron

HI All,

I am currently negotiating with a prospective client who has an Elan control system and lutron lighting control system. The client is looking to upgrade his Elan system and I am proposing Crestron rating than upgrading to newer Elan products, However, there is some Elan equipment that the client would like to retain and was wondering if there are modules available for controlling these with Crestron. I could not find anything for these equipment on application market and crestron database in Simpl.??

The existing equipment is:

  • DT22 Dual Tuner x 1
  • HC12 System controller x 1
  • M86a Multi Source/Multi Zone controller x 2
  • C2 Communications controller x 1

?

Any assistance is most appreciated.?

Best regards,

Nirav

Re: V24R-Wall and DGE2

We had a client go for a Planar 24" display with the DM-DGE-200-C as a replacement for a DGE2/V24 because the 2220 wasn¡¯t big enough -- but we weren't concerned about filling a hole (they're on adjustable arms) so I can't say how close a match it would be size wise -- though there is a lot less bezel on the Planar than the V24 but the combo works well.

Unfortunately as far as the V24 goes there's not a way to retain the V24 and upgrade the DGE -- have another client with a number of V24/DGE2s where we were looking at upgrading the DGE for weight and space reasons but had no need to change the display; engineering confirmed however that that wasn't/couldn¡¯t be supported.

You don't have to use the TSD-2220. The DGE-100 and DM-DGE-200-C should work with most modern touchscreen monitors, so it should be possible to find something that's close to the size of the existing opening. You'll just have to do some searching...

Re: LG Display IP Control WOL

What is the port number which you are using for IP control of the LG displays?

I don't think I have that documented anywhere and I would like to go ahead and try it out to see if at least I can get the display into a full standby mode and then use WOL to revive the display.

I haven't dug through the files section to see if we have a friendly posted module for IP control on there or not.? I do have a solid enough LG module right now that works great for RS232 control of LG displays.

Totally bums me out that they failed so hard on this.? We have a consultant specified system with over 100 LG displays and a Crestron Connected requirement, so I am pressing kind of hard on LG about this issue as well as Crestron for what integrators can expect when Crestron claims a display is Crestron Connected Certified.? Because it seems that they need to pressure LG, or remove them from their list.? Likewise, LG needs to actually meet the requirements, or stop advertising that functionality.

Their RS232 is so good (IMO) compared to some others.? I'm saddened they didn't put the same effort into their LAN control.

Sendmail Sharp General SendMail error

Have a job the SendMail Sharp module has been in that has been working for months.? No changes at all.? Suddenly the mail notifications stop working and looking at the module it is reporting General SendMail errors.

Not sure what would have happened to cause this.? Nothing was changed.? Anyone else experiencing issues?

Solved my own issues and thanks for the help, was able to make this work with the relay and actually having the correct terminals for the coil voltages.??

SIMPL# Pro and HD-MD-400-C-E "HDCP Support"

Hi All
I am trying to add the ability to Enable/Disable the "HDCP Support" on all HDMI inputs of a HD-MD-400-C-E switcher in some existing SIMPL# Pro code.
Has anyone got this working??

If so could you help me with some information on how this was done.
I am finding that?

.HdcpSupportedLevelFeedback.ToString() Property always returns (Unknown) as I am assuming this device does not support this as support is either Enable or Disabled and does not support 2x.
.HdcpSupportOnFeedback.ToString() Property is returning (Bool Sig Number 5 "False") or (Bool Sig Number 5 "True") the state of the of the "HDCP Support" as set with the webpage of the device.

However when I try to Enable/Disable the HDCP Support using the code below this does not set the "HDCP Support" on the device, but the PrintLine will return the correct current value if I change this via the devices webpage.

In this code basicSwitcher is the place holder for the HdMd400CE. I currently have the switching and sync detection functioning correctly so the device is online and the other parts of this code are correct.

if (globalHDCP != null && globalHDCP.Value)

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? {

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? foreach (HdMdNxMHdmiInput hdmiInput in (basicSwitcher as HdMdxxxCE).HdmiInputs)

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? {

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? hdmiInput.HdmiInputPort.HdcpSupportOn();

? ? ? ConsoleServer.PrintLine("HDMD400CE Input {0} HDCP Support = {1}, On = {2}", hdmiInput.ToString(), hdmiInput.HdmiInputPort.HdcpSupportedLevelFeedback.ToString(), hdmiInput.HdmiInputPort.HdcpSupportOnFeedback.ToString());

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? }

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? }

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? else

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? {

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? foreach (HdMdNxMHdmiInput hdmiInput in (basicSwitcher as HdMdxxxCE).HdmiInputs)

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? {

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? hdmiInput.HdmiInputPort.HdcpSupportOff();

ConsoleServer.PrintLine("HDMD400CE Input {0} HDCP Support = {1}, On = {2}", hdmiInput.ToString(), hdmiInput.HdmiInputPort.HdcpSupportedLevelFeedback.ToString(), hdmiInput.HdmiInputPort.HdcpSupportOnFeedback.ToString());

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? }

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? }

I have tried casting the HDMIInput as different types but have not been able to find the correct way of setting this value.

I have also tried using the .HdcpSupportedLevel property but this has no effect.

As this is available from SIMPL I am hoping it is available in SIMPL# Pro.

Can anyone doing SIMPL# Pro offer any advice.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: QM-RMC 12V Trigger Output

I am utilizing the Paradigm Link Player's 12V trigger to drive the voltage (or at least I thought I was) through the coil, and then utilizing the normally open relay to of course close the contact circuit when power is fed.? Unfortunately I don't think I am doing this right, as I thought originally that the 12V trigger from the PW link could be fed directly to the QM-RMC based on page 1 of the manual.? Looking at it further, it is clear that as mentioned it can't accept the 12V signal.

Hope that explanation makes a bit more sense for what I am looking for.? Thanks for the help and some education.

I may just need to look at an optically controlled relay.

Re: QM-RMC 12V Trigger Output

As far as i understand, he wants to detect a contact closure and does not want to trigger a relay.

I?m using these for this purpose:

Can be triggered with a 8/10-250V pulse.
It?s a German brand though, i don?t know their availibility outside Europe.

The four digital connections you are likely referring to (on the 5-pin Phoenix connector) are digital Inputs, not outputs.? You cannot directly drive a relay coil via their pins!

You MIGHT however, be able to rig something up, using one of the 9-pin serial connectors though.

I have successfully used triggering of the "DTR" pin (pin 4, controlled via SIMPL programming), to then ultimately control a relay.? However, that would take some interface/buffering circuitry in-between, as again that pin is neither designed to supply, nor sink any appreciable current (certainly not enough, to hold a relay coil closed).

In the above case, I would highly recommend using an optically-controlled relay (the relay's solid-state "contacts", are controlled via an internal LED).? An added benefit, is that it electrically isolates the load, from the control system.

I hope this helps!

Audio Breakaway is going to be the painful part of this.? I have written a module to handle this and still allow you to use the DM style routing.? I can share if you would like.
