Re: Tricky Problem with maybe Crosspoints
Heather Baiman
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýBy backup, you mean there was a copy of compiled code on the old CP3? ?I can only assume, because how else could you know they are using crosspoints. It is possible that the program was talking to a text file on the old processor that you didn¡¯t retrieve. Or maybe there were programs in multiple slots and you are missing the code for the other slots. Or the code you extracted was an old version that
just didn¡¯t work.?

Re: Tricky Problem with maybe Crosspoints
If you took the code from the old CP3 and loaded it to the new one then in theory it should work the same.
A couple of things you can check: * Firmware - see if you can load the same firmware version installed in the old cp3 to the new one. Probably a long shot but there have been issues with some of the later cp3 firmware * IP Table - I suspect this is more likely a cause for some of your issues, check that both processor IP tables are the same |
Tricky Problem with maybe Crosspoints
Hey All, I got a costumer who lost his source Code files, some guys programmed the system years ago and now they are lost. Now the CP3 got Hardware issues and i had to replace it iwth a new one.? So if i took a backup from the old cp3 and bring it to the new one, some parts of the programming seems not to work with the new processor. in debugger it seems like they used Crosspoints for Switching the Room Controlls. It looks like the Crosspoint does not work with the new cp3.? Any Ideas why the crosspoint programming does not work with a diffrent cp3? |
Toolbox Device Discovery Update
Hey all, looking through the release notes on the software updates released today... Very useful. I just connected to a Pro3 at a different campus and everything on its network came right up. ? --KG |
Re: Hue Lighting Integration
I use Hue in my personal setup. There's a Simpl# module out there, but I have a 2-series so that wasn't an option. I just use a TCP Client to access the hue's native API to set scenes as necessary, but there's no reason you couldn't go farther with it. That's the Hue API docs, if you have any JSON experience, it'll be super easy. |
Re: Hue Lighting Integration
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýRight, never suggested it should be anything like a complete lighting system. Merely curious if anybody is seeing end users put this stuff into homes where they may already have a Crestron control system and then asking for it to be integrated into the Crestron system, be it a game room or whatever. |
Re: Hue Lighting Integration
"Lighting is an essential service in any building. Philips hue is an IoT diy toy. I would not even consider them.
I'd consider using them as decorative lighting in say a theater room or
Outdoor area etc but certainly not as complete lighting solution" Good thing the original post didn't say...anything...about it being a complete lighting solution.? Lol... ? - Chip |

That said, despite the rather peculiar programming methodology, it is a good remote and it works well. Best regards, Tel: 561.391.1843 P.O. Re: sonos line in Module V1.0
That would be great, Chap. I unfortunately don't have access to a Playbar now, but have done a couple of systems in the past that could've really used a "TV Input" command. I'm sure it's just a matter of time, before it comes up again :-)

Re: sonos line in Module V1.0
Tony,
His module is a nice encapsulated html login to the sonos, it is exactly what wireshark shows when I select line in on my pc's sonos app.? pretty slick! I cant get mine to work, but my lab setup has stacked switches which is a big SONOS nono. I am going to get my boss to loan me a playbar and capture the packets. Then send em to peter. regards, Chap |
Re: sonos line in Module V1.0
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýProbably yes, but I don't have Playbar for testing. If someone
sends me a wireshark captured communication between Sonos Desktop
Controller and Playbar (just right after TV input selection), I
can probably make a module. The communication goes on TCP port

Re: MLX-3 - some questions
Unfortunately, I find them to be rather pokey these days. Could be modifications to recent FW initiatives?

Subject: [Crestron] Re: MLX-3 - some questions Thanks, I am loading via USB at the moment. I don't recall the gateway uploads being particularly slow in the past. I used to do this on boats where we would have a load of MLX's. Just need a refresher on what step I am missing. |
