Sounds like your stream resolution is to high. I wrote a module mainly for ICR that will call for the secondary stream when panel indicates that it is remote as well as allowing for different port call when remote.?

what rtsp cameras work well with crestron app?? we use hikvision and openeye and it takes 20 to 30 seconds to get an image remotely.? extremely ridiculous and embarrassing, and brands tips and settings would be most helpful.

Re: ip cameras

You can do that through an ICRealtime NVR

Re: setup view of this forum

For those who don't know, there already IS a slack group with a good crew of people there helping each other out. we have around 141 members currently after starting it up around July of 2016. You can sign up at??. i try and not spam this yahoo group with the link as i want to respect the fact that this is a great active community and don't want to tear it down in any way.

Eric is also very correct in that the reddit group is pretty active and is another good source of help and you should check that out if the yahoo group is frustrating

The unfortunate fact of the yahoo group is its legacy. Its been around for 18 years, there are 11,345 members, countless threads and files of people helping each other out. The yahoo groups format isnt' the greatest but has the advantage of easy file sharing, and chats that come to your email without having to go to an application or dedicated web page.?

I truly hope that yahoo doesn't kill groups but if it does, hopefully we can archive the files and maybe chats into an AWS S3 storage so that we don't lose so many years of little fixes that only are found through experience.

My programming template on github includes a swamp for the house audio system. ?That may be useful as a programming example.

I know it is simple, and I read the brochure already. It is not like I am being lazy, I am working in a really complex system, in which I was supposed to spend like two weeks of programming, but I only have 2 more days, I am not eating, not sleeping, and english is not my main language as you can see, that's why I asked, because you guys are so nice every time I need some help, so I thought someone would already have this program, and could help me by sharing it.

Re: ip cameras

Just out of curiousity, when your streaming cameras externally, is there a way to use the controller as a proxy so you do not need to open ports to each camera?

I don't know if you've looked in the help section of Crestrons website yet but, if you search for "streaming" it should bring up some documents that show the best rtsp/mjpeg settings to use for specific brands/models. I'm not sure if hikvisiin is in there, but it would be worth a look for sure

IMO, though, you are better off using mjpeg with the Crestron app. I have 8 cams in my system and the 7 that don't support rtsp take about a second or two to start streaming. The one that uses rtsp used to take about 5-6 seconds to load but has been taking a good 12-15 seconds to load lately.

Re: SWAMP-24X8

had to troubleshoot a swamp system the other day for the first time... and yes... reading the help file is best way to learn it.

Re: Sharp LC60LE661U volume ramp issue.

Just a heads up, be prepared to do a power cycle every once in a while to bring the monitor back from the dead. FW updates, service menu resets, nothing works but pulling the power out of the wall and plugging it back in.

It's disappointing since this is the last usable non-PNL Sharp but it's happened to every one we installed and nothing has fixed any of them, including RMA replacement. I hope you have better luck, but we've stopped using Sharp for anything but interactives.

Re: setup view of this forum

If you didn't already know, I?took over the /r/Crestron subreddit about 8 months ago and cleaned the place up a bit. The userbase there has been steadily growing. (as of now, 800 subscribers and around 14,500 pageviews last month) Being Reddit, I understand it's probably in a lot of corporate filters as being a bad website, but it's another possible resource for us programmers. Obviously not a place to discuss Labs stuff, or anything that should be kept out of full public view.

Also last month I started a second subreddit called /r/AVAutomation for a more platform agnostic discussion. I've been on recently and it is dead, seriously dead, which is a fairly decent loss to us AMX guys (or at least those who still haunt the place). I'm throwing this out here so that if you're an AMX programmer or Extron programmer or Control4 or whatever you do that doesn't necessarily fall under the Crestron umbrella, there's a place to discuss that and ask questions of other industry professionals. /r/AMX is a deserted wasteland and /r/Extron equally so. /r/Control4 seems to be marginally active. Unless there's somewhere else I don't know about, there's not much place for non-Crestron discussion.

This is just more places to be able to reach other programmers. And technically not a forum...so, yeah.

Ugh. I hate the Facebook format.
?
The thing I love about this group is every email comes directly to my inbox, so there's I lot I've learned over the years just "Next unread message" even if its a thread I wouldn't have paid attention to if I had to go into it. Plus I can just hit "Reply" and type. On the facebook groups that I am a member of it's clumsy, easy to miss responses, etc., etc.

Not changeable that I know of, and yes it bugs me too.? I personally hate the format of Yahoo groups.? Yes this is the only reason that I have a yahoo account still active after all these years.

With that said, why don't YOU suggest to the group to move to a different platform.? ;)? (or you can wait until daylight savings starts so we can synchronize our clocks once and be done with it).

Who knows, down the road, we may be forced to change platforms since Yahoo is in the process of being bought out, and don't know if groups will continue down the road with new owners.? If that happens, as long as the consensus isn't to move over to some Facebook group where you need a facebook account to access, I'll be happy.

Re: SWAMP-24X8

Controlling the SWAMP24x8 is pretty self explanatory. Have you looked at the help file for it in Simpl?

I hate to be "that guy" who tells you to read the help file, but I feel like a lot of the "example program" requests we see here are more or less people being lazy looking for code to copy and paste rather than learning how and why things are done. I'm not accusing you of doing this, I've just noticed a lot of requests from people for example programs for things that would take less time to figure out just by reading the help file for the device.

The client also wishes the back of the TV to be covered in way to hide the back of the display, wiring, RMC black box, etc. Looking for something around 28-32" in screen size but not having very good luck finding product out there. Has anyone worked with any custom brand they might want to recommend please??
