Phil,
Are you talking about in Device Learner in Toolbox?
If so, there wasn't an option that we saw to save without carrier, either with the IR file that we "learned" or the Crestron Haivision "Set Top Box" IR file.

We also can't find DEAL anywhere...it's not something we've used, but recognize the name, but we can't find it online or on our Crestron PC anywhere.

Thanks,
Jeff

help with creating lighting scenes

client wants to be able to create, edit, delete and rename lighting scenes in his system on the touchpanel.

something like this:
- press create lighting scene button
- pick the loads affected and set the levels
- save and name the scene
- the scene will then appear on the list if saved

is there a module that works like this?

Re: S+ Basic Question

Some friendly advice... figure out how to do things in SIMPL first.? SIMPL+ is not designed to build your whole system, it's built as an "escape hatch" when the SIMPL logic or string parsing gets too complicated.? It may sound like a great idea to do everything in SIMPL+ right now, but the collective experience of this group has showed that it always ends in tears.

Thanks to everyone for the help and putting up with my somewhat lame questions.

Re: can't communicate with QM-RMC

Hi all I Got it worked for me,,

I will be the problem with configuration of IP adress Here What it is :

Go to system info and check the SSL : <Dissabled>?

if it is dissabled and self assigned you need to make it enabled by putting it to DHCP. this mode will assign an ip and remove SSL support?
you will get SSLL<Not supported>

then reassign your IP to static....!!!! it works like champ.. for me

Thanks?

No need to special module. You need just Intersystem Communications. More info at in the resource section.

"#define_constant on=1"

"Why would you waste time explicitly declaring that when it's a predefined keyword?"

This should help explain it. :)

#define_constant true=1
#define_constant false=0
#define_constant off=0

Re: Wire control of Haivision Stingray2?

So Phil, is there a way to strip out the carrier frequency? We figured out that we do indeed need to convert the modulated codes that the CP3 would send out of its IR port into the demodulated code that the receiving IR bud would put out, but we're having trouble figuring out how to do that. Haivision is trying to help, but we're not quite there. Can the CP3 IR port even do that? Can any IR port? We really wanted to use the SVSi decoder IR control port for this, but it will only do IR outputs, not IR or serial like the CP3 can do, so if it has to be a serial output to simulate a demodulated signal, then we might not be able to use the SVSi method.

Thanks, Jeff

After reading into it a bit more, it doesn't appear we have to strip the carrier with a direct connection...the 3.5mm IR receiver jack is expecting a modulated signal as it doesn't get demodulated until it hits the circuit board inside the Stingray, so it should take a direct connection from the CP3 with just the signal and ground wires connected (disregarding the VCC connection)...but it doesn't work even though Haivision thinks it should (but doesn't have any documentation yea or nay on actually trying it).

Do you need to strip out the 38(?)kHz IR carrier if you're plugging directly into the unit?

No idea. We've tried every combination of wiring after the diagram Haivision gave us for a 3.5mm TRS to IR bud didn't work (even though it was an IR bud cable diagram, it identified signal, VCC and ground connections).
I've got an email back into Haivision, so hopefully their engineers can have some input, but the IPTV set top boxes aren't made by them (OEM from China), so it's always been difficult getting any modifications or detailed info.

Anyone had success with this module? ?I'm having some trouble with it and it's a pretty straightforward module. ?It's not working so I have to be missing something somewhere that is keeping the module from working.

Hi?

I have used these before . Great amps with ip control . The only problem is they take ages to turn on with an ip command . And while they are turning on they don't respond to any commands . From what I remember it's is about 2-3 minuets before it becomes operational from off?

Has anyone used these and is there anything to watch out for? There are downloads from the Sonance site for both IP and IR commands but no pre built modules. Has anyone developed a module for these? TIA.

I don't think Andrew said anything to indicate he wasn't being "calm" in his posts. ?While labs is for discussion of unreleased software/firmware, this issue would also be present in unreleased versions unless it's already been addressed.

Re: Compile crashing

Andrew,

?

? I think you need to take a step back and calm down. Yes, I am aware that TB does not physically write the applications. My comment was simply to let the original poster be aware that this topic has come up on this forum before and months ago TB was aware of it. When TB is aware of it that typically means that the engineers are aware of it and since the problem is still occurring, we can only assume they have not made a fix for it yet. I am on CrestronLabs and am very familiar with the platform. As others have stated, that is not the correct path for a resolution.

?

The correct path has already been taken. Called TB, reported the problem, confirmed the problem is known to Crestron, sit back and wait for them to get around to fixing it. I have been doing Crestron long enough to know that they will fix it when they want to and the rest of us just have to work around it. It has been like that for years. I don't have to like it, I just have to do my job.
