Re: Interfacing with a GE NX8E Alarm Panel

We are just now integrating the NX8E into a crestron system. I was wondering if you could send me your module? willis (at) clarity-hd (dot) com

Thank you!

Re: TSW750 - play sound?

I'm using the TSW series of TP's so I can't say. Have you contacted TB??

Re: TSW750 - play sound?

When you pulse it, the entire file plays, no need to hold it high. If you want it to repeat for longer than the clip, then hold it high for the length you desire.?

Re: TSW750 - play sound?

I?m using crestron studio, I used sound manager to import the mp3 file and got a "Play Sound Digital Join" number. Isn?t it supposed to keep it high for the entire time of the sound?

Re: TSW750 - play sound?

I believe the sound plays/repeats for as long as the join is high, so make sure you aren't just pulsing it.

The file gets played when you trigger the FB input of the join. If using a button, in SIMPL connect the output from the join to the FB input. Plays fine on my 750.

Re: Problem in mycrestron ddn

You can change from port 80 if you want as well but ports must be open in the router and pointed to your processor address. If using a 3 series, you don't need the module.

Re: TSW750 - play sound?

It doesnt work for me, Im using crestron studio with a tpmc-4smd and a cp3. I loaded the mp3 file with sound manager and got a play sound digital join and a stop sound digital sound number then added a button. I joined press signial of the device that corresponds to the button to the fb signial that corresponds to the join of the play sound and got nothing. Any ideas of what might be wrong?

Re: Wake on LAN module

I couldn't get it to work either. I found a different magic packet logic in a tv module in the file section and that also didn't work.

I gave up, love to hear if someone has magic packet WOL working and how.

Sent from my pocket computer

Re: Problem in mycrestron ddn

It sounds like you don't have all the ports open at the location you are trying to gain remote access from.

You need to open http port 80, CIP port 41794, and port 41795, pointed at the Crestron processor,?? on the router from where you are trying to gain access from.??? To test if the ports are open, you can use the website?

I'm new to setting up remote access and I just recently got it working. ?I had the same error you did and the fix was opening up?(and verifying) those?ports on my router.

Re: Combinable / Divisible Rooms

I only prefer crosspoints when *I* do the original code.? If I'm handed code, I'd greatly prefer the original programmer to have use buffers.

Some people like crosspoints, others like buffers. I¡¯ve heard arguments for both, and both have valid points as to why they use the connection logic of choice.

How do you NOT use Crosspoints?! Crosspoints is what keeps me sane.
Anyway, as others have suggested make sure you talk with the client on how they want it done. Also, make sure you have sufficient time allotted for testing and commissioning.

Wake on LAN module

I am using the Wake on LAN module that I have downloaded from the files section.

?I can see from toolbox that I am sending the magic packet to the PC.

?I can wake the PC from another PC using a magic packet sender and I can wake using an app on my phone. My problem is that Crestron won't wake the PC.

Is anyone using the module?? I just need to know if I am missing something?

Re: Laptop suggestion for Crestron and AMX

I've got a Lenovo W550s, 12GB RAM, i7-5600 (2.6GHz) Win10 that I'm really enjoying. ?Love the build quality, keyboard and trackpoint particularly. ?

Lectrosonics Aspen DSP's

Any controlling large Lectrosonics Aspen DSP system reliably, smoothly and quickly? Have a system with a large amount of DSP controls and really struggling with these Aspen units. Feedback just stop working, not taking all commands. Smaller projects have been fine with these, this is my first large project with them and its been horrible.?

Re: Laptop suggestion for Crestron and AMX

I'm using a Lenovo X1 carbon.. performs amazingly! Small display but I do all of my UI work at the office or at home on a larger monitor, then create a Theory of Operations document which the client signs which has drastically reduced the on-site UI work. But when it comes to compiling and such my X1 carbon kills it! I switched from Dell due to price and functionality, I would recommend Lenovo for sure

Re: Laptop suggestion for Crestron and AMX

I'll second the MacBook Pro. I run in both Boot Camp and Parallels running the BootCamp partition. I like being able to run any Mac or PC software I like. Plus, since Mac's are very particular about HDCP, a Mac laptop makes a great test signal generator. I have been called out to several jobs where someone eventually (weeks or months later) brought a Mac to plug into a conference system at it would not work due to HDCP.

Plus they look cool.
