Re: how to use TSID on new project
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThere are a number of ways depending on how you want to go about it¡ ? Quasi-automated way is to in Toolbox open the Network Device Tree view and the SIMPL Windows Program view and link the two (right click, link to, IIRC¡) ?then right click either a specific item or heading and it¡¯s something like ¡°Assign Network IDs ¡° or ¡°Identify¡± ? In the case of keypads, this will start flashing all of the LEDs on the keypad and pressing the keypad will link that ID (in the case of other devices, IIRC, the setup LED starts blinking and pressing the Setup button does the same thing) and rinse and repeat. Works really well if either you have wireless network coverage for your laptop or two people with two-way radios -- someone at the headend watching the Toolbox prompts and someone else walking around and pushing the right buttons. ? I don¡¯t have that many projects where I have enough devices on Cresnet/Infinet, on the processor for this to make sense often but it is very handy (and I think kind of cool) for those projects where you do have a boatload of devices. ? I remember the Infocomm when Toolbox was announced/released and the demo of this feature made an impression on me¡ And it¡¯s still one of the few things that Toolbox does better than Viewport¡ (g,d&r) ? -- Lincoln King-Cliby, CTS, DMC-E-4K/T/D Commercial Market Director Sr. Systems Architect | Crestron Certified Master Programmer (Gold) ControlWorks Consulting, LLC V: 440.449.1100 x1107 F: 440-449-1106 I: Crestron Services Provider | Biamp Audia Certified | Extron Authorized Programmer ? So, I have never really worked on larger lighting systems. ?Which is to be said that I only had to ID a few devices at a time. ?I know there has to be an easier way to walk into a project that my techs and electricians have just finished installing and ID all the keypads and modules. ?I tried searching the group and TB online and couldn't?find anything specific. ?I have a project with 8 CAEN-5x2s and about 100 Cameo KPs. ?How does TSID work? ? PS I am asking, because TB chat couldn't tell me and had to hang up after 25mins on hold. ? TIA John |

Re: Anyone use a DIN-CENCN-2 yet?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI just got ours today.? It does not get configured through Toolbox, it uses a webpage L ? Seems to be working so far though.? (I only have one TSTAT connected to it) ? From: Crestron@... [mailto:Crestron@...]

? Finds more than one keypad now and was simpler to get things assigned. ? Basically a set of crestnet id's on the ethernet line. Simple.?

tsr-302 wifi dead
Hi All, Anyone have an issue with the tsr-302 wifi going dead? ?Was working perfectly for a couple of months, then it stopped acquiring to my access point. ?The EX/ER portion of the radio is fine, just wifi seems dead. ?It no longer lists out found access points in a list in the setup screen and manually entering an access point does not let the unit acquire. ?I've tried the standard troubleshooting, re-initalizing the unit and re-loading firmware but nothing works. ?I'm about to RMA it, unless anyone else has a suggestion? Thanks. |

How does pyng handle contact closure
I don't have access to a pyng system to test it out and I've honestly never touched one anyways, our downstate office has been in the process of sending up one for about 3 weeks now, my question is can a doorbell press into a relay(say a din-io8 or inet-ioex-ryio) then be programmed to play a doorbell wav file or mp3 thru whole house speakers without using a mc3, cp3, etc. Customer may expand his system later to full crestron but at this moment what he is asking for I know can be done with pyng except for possibly the doorbell, wasn't sure on that. Any help would be great. Thanks guys! Kevin? ps. audio would be a swamp. |
