Re: QSYS 500i (manufacturer supplied modules)

Name the router object something in the property grid (or whatever QSC calls it), and then drag and drop the whole object in as a named control.? It will automatically append "_Gain" "_Mute", etc. for the individual named controls.? Same thing for their other objects.

I'm not a big fan of the manufacturer provided modules.? I wrote some in S#, and they perform MUCH better!

Re: Crestron with Hiperwall again, please some help!!

You can still use an SIO.? Split your string between two consecutive parameter lines on an SIO and use the same digital input to trigger both lines.? The symbol evaluates from top to bottom so they will be sent out sequentially.

This example will send "HelloWorld!" out the To_Device output on the rising edge of Trigger:

As long as no single parameter on an SIO exceeds ~253 bytes (there's some wierd overhead bytes in there so stay a couple below the mathematical limit of 255), you can send as much data as you want using an SIO.

The device won't see it as two separate transmissions of data.? Your TCP Client/Com port acts as a buffer and will pass all the data in a pretty much constant stream.? The receiving device is usually waiting for a delimiter before parsing anyway.

Thanks guys!!!, you are right. I'm manually sending the string via tool box with a TCP/IP client module and the string is too long.
I created new folders with shorter names and content with shorter names in order to make the string short and it started to work.
I still have to check what happen when I put the string in an SIO because it's still longer that 255, if it doesn't work may be I should use simpl+.

Thanks again.

Jose.

Any luck? Also looking for the full 3.0 module and can not find it anywhere. Don't know if it will still work either... Programming a Pro2 in 2014 with an original IDOC.

1) What the heck is the "DVR" button intended for?? Obviously, it can be tied to whatever the programmer decides it should do, but the labeling strikes me as odd.

2) Is the upper part of the remote where the display is actually angled like it appears to be in the picture?? Not sure I'm keen on that.

The other 2 new remotes look fine for limited systems.

Re: HaiVision Control

Well, it does allow naked IP control of the device, according to the documentation. ?We don't have to use the REST standard.

I'm going to be making an attempt to integrate one next week, and I've written a Simpl+ module to try to do it with naked IP...I'll let you know if it works.

Re: Vivitek D967 WT module

OK, manual reading 101:

For the purposes of this exercise, I'm going to assume an MC3 processor with an Xpanel as the Crestron hardware.

On the RS2332 side of things, make sure in SIMPL Configuration view, you set your RS232 port to 9600 bps,?8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, HW handshaking: none, SW Handshaking: none.

It's not clear from the manual which sex the RS232 port is on the projector. Looking at the picture of the product on the Vivitek web site, the RS232 port on the projector is MALE. So is the RS232 port on my processor, so I'm going to need a null modem cable (actually a cable wired pin 5 to pin 5, pin 2 to pin 3 and pin 3 to pin 2 is sufficient).

Now in my program to control the projector I'll need an SIO connected to the chosen COM port.

Say I have power_on and power_off as the two triggers.

The parameter to plug in next to the power_on signal is: V99S0001\x0D

The parameter to plug in next to the power_off signal is: V99S0002\x0D

The '99' indicates all connected projectors, which is odd as the projector only has one RS232 port and seemingly can't be daisy chained...

Feedback is 'P' (pass)?or 'Pnnnnn' (pass with a value of nnnnn) or 'F' (fail), so trying to deal with feedback will be a lot more complicated.

F12, compile & upload and test

Now this projector supports the RoomView Connected Display protocol (manual p37 onwards), so if I have an Ethernet connection to the processor I can use a RoomView Connected Display symbol (from Config view) and avoid a lot of the pain in retrieving lamp hours etc from the serial connection ('cause that "V" protocol sucks IMHO). Just make sure you use an IPID 9 or less to avoid confusion with hex and decimal representations.

Cheers

Phil.?

My Favorite part about Chore3 @ 6:15pm

I love how sometimes when you download the project it'll scale, then when you make one little change, before you go home, it decides not to scale after the next download, so you have to download again and again until it finally takes it.....?

That's fun times.??

QSYS 500i (manufacturer supplied modules)

Has anyone successfully worked with the 2014 QSC supplied modules?

I can modify their router and mixer modules to match what is in the program, but where I am having difficulty is understanding the naming of the controls and then pointing to them.
I have for example a 5 x 5 router, and I just want to name it Zone A 5 x 5 Router in the DSP, so that I can drop that name into the provided module. You cant seem to do that, you have to drag the 5 outputs of the router into your name controls window and individually name them in the dsp. So my question is, why does the Crestron module only have 1 router name field. What am I missing? Do I need to add 5 instances of the router module in the crestron program to point at each output of the router? Sounds nuts!

rs232 commands for Sanyo PLC-XU115

I am trying to find any serial information regarding the Sanyo PLC-XU115. I need a command for the Network source selection. I have a copy of the advanced protocol with no reference to this source.

Re: Scopia XT 5000

Thanks, Will!?

The demo unit for this project just showed up on my desk, so this is perfect timing.?

Do you happen to know where I can get my hands on the older modules? It looks like we might have an XT1000 module squirreled away in our archives, so I will probably start with that.

I believe all of these systems will have DSPs, so unfortunately I am not likely to be much help with your volume control issues. Sorry!

Hope.

Re: CIPD Tag Question

This could easily be a difference between the database you're both running. ?A tech called me today about an issue where no hard buttons on an MLX-3 registered on all but one page and he had to define the signals on the global page in Simpl. ?The same layout worked for me, ?without the global page defined, and I realized he's running a newer database than I am.

Re: CIPD Tag Question

I don't doubt it's working, I was just making the point of which colon is the delimiter. ?What if they change it to the first colon instead of the last, then your 30 panels won't be working the way you intended. ?There just needs to be an escape character for the rare instance you are using the cipd tag with two colons next to each other. ?That was my original question, if there was one which is also why I posted on labs to see about getting one if there isn't.
