Re: D3Pro V2 to V3 Firmware Unknown

Well it turns out it has nothing to do with the V3 conversion. The type of card in slot 1 was no longer recognized by the processor and so no firmware was available. The card showed up as UNKNOWN type in in the tree and sysinfo. Surprisingly but luckily a SELFTEST command at the console fixed the problem. Thought it was RMA time.

Re: SmartBoard SIMPL Module

I have found that you need to pull the power on the projector at times
while the RS232 is connected (usually only the first time you connect to
it) and then it recognizes that there is something connected to it and all
is good after that, I dont know if that helps or not but could be worth a
try if you have not already.

thanks.

Re: SmartBoard SIMPL Module

Hello,

First step would be to hook up to the thing with your own (straight) serial cable...set your terminal program (I prefer Hercules)to the proper settings (19200, 8, 1, N) and send the ? and see if you get a response back. If so, great. If not, then there's something up with the projector or your cable.

As for the commands, most of the SMART stuff uses the same style. To turn on you'd send 'on\r' (without quotes) and off would be 'off now\r'. Input settings would be something like 'set input=HDMI1\r'.

Their protocol is actually kind of nice and you could do most status parsing for power/input just with a serial IO.

Hope that helps a bit.

Does anyone have a module for a SmartBoard SB685ix2 with the UX80 projector? Or at least can tell me how to format the serial string to communicate with the projector? I can't seem to get it to respond to anything I try. All I need is to be able to turn the projector on and off and send it to HDMI1 input. The manual can be found at (the RS232 commands start of page 68 of the pdf):

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

So I guess sticking with relays is the way to go? It will just do an ALL command, correct? Or do I need three relays for each screen?

Thanks,

The one I have done I used relays. It takes 3 relays to control the shades and depending on what relays are tripped at the same time as to which preset is called. You have: full open, full closed, 75%, 50%, 25%. We couldn't get to the comport of the controller, so we tapped into the cat5 that went to the KP, so we had to do the relay method.

Sad that I know far too much about these "devices." There are a number of varieties of shades you can control via their Swiss made IQ-45. All outputs via RF-12 are in fact relays. Up/down/Stop and Preset-half. You then have 2 outputs for RJ-485, one for RS-232 and one for IR.

Most of their 24v motors can only be controlled via relay--or via RF. What you can do indeed is determined by the programming. I have their addressing software on some computer. It is easy protocol to write, but I found their com port locks up very easily. There is NO feedback. Enjoy making the custom serial interface cable, particularly if you have issues communicating to their system. I believe 00 is all shade respond; something useful to know if you're trying to establish communication

Video Switcher Smart Object

Can anyone point me in the right direction.

I am using a DM6x6 and this is the first time I am going to be using the Video Switcher Smart Object.

I have 3 Analog ins:

Number of Visible Screens
Screen 1 Source selection
Screen 2 Source Selection

and 2 analog outs:
Screen 1 Source Selection
Screen 2 Source Selection

am I to assume that I connect the analog of the DM6x6 source selections to the smart object?

Also how am I to route audio?

and one more, do I still have to trigger the digital Video Select to change?

DMCO-55 with Intelix DIGI-HDE-R HDBaseT receiver?

I have a project that has specified the above combo, but with RS232 output of the Intelix product as well as the HDMI video.

Unfortunately, you have to add a Crestron RMC to insert the RS232 commands. Does anyone know if you can just use a DM-RMC-100 on the DMCO-55 output and have it work? Or if it will actually even work with the Intelix product?

I do see that you can do CRC without a RMC but want to try to avoid that if at all possible.

The answer I get from Crestron is what I would expect...they don't know how to do it or if it works.

I have gotten my work-arounds for having the compiles create the zip file archive and the other oddities that exist when using Parallels (that have to do with network maps etc...).
