Re: D3Pro V2 to V3 Firmware Unknown
Well it turns out it has nothing to do with the V3 conversion. The type of card in slot 1 was no longer recognized by the processor and so no firmware was available. The card showed up as UNKNOWN type in in the tree and sysinfo. Surprisingly but luckily a SELFTEST command at the console fixed the problem. Thought it was RMA time.

Every icon in toolbox looks like it came from the windows 95 system32 folder, that might be the next move.

Re: SmartBoard SIMPL Module

I have found that you need to pull the power on the projector at times
while the RS232 is connected (usually only the first time you connect to it) and then it recognizes that there is something connected to it and all is good after that, I dont know if that helps or not but could be worth a try if you have not already. thanks. Kris |

First step would be to hook up to the thing with your own (straight) serial cable...set your terminal program (I prefer Hercules)to the proper settings (19200, 8, 1, N) and send the ? and see if you get a response back. If so, great. If not, then there's something up with the projector or your cable. As for the commands, most of the SMART stuff uses the same style. To turn on you'd send 'on\r' (without quotes) and off would be 'off now\r'. Input settings would be something like 'set input=HDMI1\r'. Their protocol is actually kind of nice and you could do most status parsing for power/input just with a serial IO. Hope that helps a bit. --- In Crestron@..., "ams12321" <ams12321@...> wrote:

So I guess sticking with relays is the way to go? It will just do an ALL command, correct? Or do I need three relays for each screen?

Video Switcher Smart Object
Can anyone point me in the right direction.
I am using a DM6x6 and this is the first time I am going to be using the Video Switcher Smart Object. I have 3 Analog ins: Number of Visible Screens Screen 1 Source selection Screen 2 Source Selection and 2 analog outs: Screen 1 Source Selection Screen 2 Source Selection am I to assume that I connect the analog of the DM6x6 source selections to the smart object? Also how am I to route audio? and one more, do I still have to trigger the digital Video Select to change? |

DMCO-55 with Intelix DIGI-HDE-R HDBaseT receiver?
I have a project that has specified the above combo, but with RS232 output of the Intelix product as well as the HDMI video.
Unfortunately, you have to add a Crestron RMC to insert the RS232 commands. Does anyone know if you can just use a DM-RMC-100 on the DMCO-55 output and have it work? Or if it will actually even work with the Intelix product? I do see that you can do CRC without a RMC but want to try to avoid that if at all possible. The answer I get from Crestron is what I would expect...they don't know how to do it or if it works. |

Yes, and you can also access the HTML folder from your computer via FTP.

Re: crestron Yale infinet EX locks - the European story
Update on this from a UK (and I assume Europe) perspective. Just had a very entertaining exchange with an "Assistant Product Manager", Yale UK.
Me: (paraphrasing) "When will the Crestron InfinetEX compatible locks be available in the UK" Yale: "The article was all based on American products, and the Crestron Infinte EX is also American. So no the Yale digital lock available in the UK would not be compatible." Me: (paraphrasing) "InfinetEX is not just a US product, it is available and used over here too" Yale: "Unfortunately our UK digital lock hasnt been designed to integrate with such products hopefully this could be something we look into in the future but currently we dont have any plans for such development. I cant speak for the US version as I have no dealing with (sic) there products so couldnt possibly comment" Now if anyone were to ask Yale if they were a global company they would puff out their chest and proudly reel off the countries in which they operate. But the above is what happens when you scratch the surface. A product manager for digital locks in the UK has "no dealing" with product in the US. Why does this simply disappoint and not surprise me. I haven't verified this, but I believe you can write files on the 3 series to the HTML and/or USER directories. Your PC could access a text file in the HTML directory using HTTP, and the USER directory using FTP.
