We just converted our first D3Pro system from V2 to V3 and got 2 error messages during the conversion. The messages are issued by the Toolbox during D3Pro startup. Any ideas? Thanks. Tom

Does anyone have a module for a SmartBoard SB685ix2 with the UX80 projector? Or at least can tell me how to format the serial string to communicate with the projector? I can't seem to get it to respond to anything I try. All I need is to be able to turn the projector on and off and send it to HDMI1 input. The manual can be found at (the RS232 commands start of page 68 of the pdf):

The one I have done I used relays. It takes 3 relays to control the shades and depending on what relays are tripped at the same time as to which preset is called. You have: full open, full closed, 75%, 50%, 25%. We couldn't get to the comport of the controller, so we tapped into the cat5 that went to the KP, so we had to do the relay method.

Most of their 24v motors can only be controlled via relay--or via RF. What you can do indeed is determined by the programming. I have their addressing software on some computer. I believe 00 is all shade respond; something useful to know if you're trying to establish communication

It's a discontinued product that Crestron created to bridge the two systems, as they decided to make them completely hardware independent.

Update on this from a UK (and I assume Europe) perspective. Just had a very entertaining exchange with an "Assistant Product Manager", Yale UK.

Me: (paraphrasing) "When will the Crestron InfinetEX compatible locks be available in the UK"

Yale: "The article was all based on American products, and the Crestron Infinte EX is also American. So no the Yale digital lock available in the UK would not be compatible."

Me: (paraphrasing) "InfinetEX is not just a US product, it is available and used over here too"

Yale: "Unfortunately our UK digital lock hasn't been designed to integrate with such products hopefully this could be something we look into in the future but currently we don't have any plans for such development. I can't speak for the US version as I have no dealing with (sic) there products so couldn't possibly comment"

Now if anyone were to ask Yale if they were a global company they would puff out their chest and proudly reel off the countries in which they operate. But the above is what happens when you scratch the surface. A product manager for digital locks in the UK has "no dealing" with product in the US. Why does this simply disappoint and not surprise me.

So distribution is a big question, and then the module will probably come out the same day they figure that out is my guess.

Yes, I have one sitting in a box on my shelf for my house. Crestron confirmed I have the right one, but the module isn't out yet, so, you can't use it with Crestron till they release it. From what I understand a lot of people at Crestron are waiting for it for their own homes, so, it's in the works.

I haven't verified this, but I believe you can write files on the 3 series to the HTML and/or USER directories. Your PC could access a text file in the HTML directory using HTTP, and the USER directory using FTP.

There has been no implementation of more traditional file sharing methods (SMB?)...yet.

Are people running coherence mode on their Macs or running full screen as the regular windows desktop?

I have gotten my work-arounds for having the compiles create the zip file archive and the other oddities that exist when using Parallels (that have to do with network maps etc...). I would much rather run everything in coherence mode due to the productivity the I get out of the desktop switching and things of that nature.

The issue I am having though is simpl windows seems to be running very slow. Compiles are about twice as long.



Compile times:

Pass 1:
171.78s - coherence mode
86.65s - full screen

Pass 2:
154.51s - coherence mode
82.90s - full screen

MBP 15" Mid 2012
Processor: 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB

I have the VM setup as:
Video: 256 MB
64 GB run on Samsung 840 PRO SSD
Memory: 4GB
CPU: 2 cores

In P301 we learnt how to write to a text file - is it possible to access that text file from a networked PC? (not running Toolbox)

Basically I have my MC3 merrily writing values to a text file (works fine), but I need a separate Windows based PC on the network (a digital signage player) to read the text file so it can display the contents on signage screens. Can it be done?
