If you download the manual for that piece, there's a whole section that goes over the command line interface that you can access either over RS232 or TCP/IP.

Re: New Crestron Mobile App theme support?

Yes custom generated themes are working fine on the new iPad app. We have been testing new themes from ElevateGRFX without any real issue. Only issue was that we were using a non support font so we had to change to arial.

Steve

After quite a bit of messing around with the new app, it seems there's a pretty big issue. Has anyone tried loading a non-Crestron theme? I have tried one fron NTDesigns, and the system just hangs whenever I try to load it.

Does anyone know if custom-generated themes are supported? If not, a lot of our pre-made designs from the TSWs aren't going to work on this at all, without a lot of re-tooling.

Re: RTI and Crestron

TechyJake

There are 2 other ways to do it as well, even though I will NOT recommend one of them. I have done all 3 and all work and have been stable for many years. The first one is using the Crestron gateway as suggested with a touch panel in the D3Prog project. I have had a project which had 6 RTI remotes already in it and a RP6 processor. I quickly wrote an RS232 driver for the RTI and a matching one for the Crestron side. It was flawless. The nice thing is you can add any string for anything you want. With the newer RTI processors, you can do 2way with a little work on the RTI side using this method. I have also had to use the CNXRMIRD (not recommended, a not so smart sales guy did this to me and I do NOT think you have access to this in D3 anyways). I have had to use all 3, regardless of it being my choice or not, for both RTI and URC.

Re: Using an analog to determine direction

I don't follow you... which "hardware" are you talking about? Why would an
analog delayed by one wave always be the same as the current value? Note
that I'm not saying the values are always different while moving, that's
why I recommended an ROS to debounce it.

I don't have a shade controller sitting around to play with, but it works
fine from an XPanel slider:

On Thu, Jun 13, 2013 at 5:33 PM, RobK <fooguy89@...> wrote:

I don't believe that will work. While it is running a solution, the
system does not retrieve new values from the internal queues that hold the
values from the hardware. So when you compare the N-many wave delayed
value to the "new" value they're going to be the same.

--- In Crestron@..., Jeremy Weatherford <jweather@...> wrote:

Delay the position value by a few waves by wrapping it through an ABUF,

Depending
on how fast it's moving, the > and < outputs won't be on full-time, but
you
could use a ROS to hold them high for a second or two, that should give
you
a continuous "moving up" or "moving down" indicator.

have
an analog value for feedback and I need some way to determine digital
feedback on buttons. If it matters, it is for a shade and I have to
determine if the shade is going up, down or stopped based on the
analog.

Re: Bricked CP3's?

I just saw this message today. Sorry I was responding soon as I read it to
check the cable. I got a bad USB cable in a cp3 box 2 weeks ago myself. And
also started having problems when updating to 1.007.x.

Fortunately I took the cp3 with me and used a different cable at my office

I'm trying to connect to 4 apparently bad CP3's which were updated to
firmware 1.007.0019, given static IP's, and now will not communicate via
USB. Device Discovery does not find them when they are installed on the
subnet for their static IP, or back at my office after recovery.
I left messages with TBTS starting at noon yesterday, and have not gotten
a callback. Answer ID 5153 is no longer available.

Didn't Crestron used to have their various tradeshow programs up on the FTP

how they're doing things, use various graphics, etc. Looks like they either
took them down, or I'm not looking in the right place...

Re: RTI and Crestron

Tres

this is definitely needed when using the U2.. or any macro with a page flip
on the button, set the minimun repeat to 2.. all other commands should not
need this method. if they do, then the rf reception is poor and there is
another issue going on.

the repeat does not increase reception, just the length of the command that
is sent. read into that if any way you want. I have done hundreds of these
remotes and the RTI remotes are by far the best remotes when it comes to
reception and distance that you can use them from their gateway.

the T1B is my favorite handheld remote. Although the URC MX980 is
ergonomically nice, their software is horrible and very easy to mess up when
trying to make it work with a crestron install or even trying to make it
work consistently among a single multiple remote install.

yes tony, I know you know how I feel about URC's software ;). I will say it
again. it is just poor and archaic. it would be nice to have the 980 that
used the rti software.

Re: DMPS freezing in debugger?!

I work mostly with DMPS-300's and experience it multiple times a day, even more frustrating over VPN when it locks up.
I don't sync all states any more, just the ones i require.

Hi guys

These days I seem to be having problems with debugger when using with a DMPS300 - usually I have to click to NOT synchronise all signal states when I fire it up, otherwise the DMPS300 will sometimes freeze (mainly after it has gone through all of its OOTB stuff) needing a hw-reset. But sometimes also I will get a freeze when just using debugger in the normal way, zapping around various signals etc.

I've got latest toolbox and DMPS300 firmware, but it is still happening and incredibly frustrating when the DMPS is in a rack miles away from the room. There is nothing particularly weird in the program.

Anyone else seen this?!

Good to know - and I have encountered this problem, although it helps if you read how the CNRFGWA placement is supposed to be. I am curious - when this is applied to buttons (like vol, mute toggle, etc.) where multiple sends are undesirable, what happens? Does a toggle toggle multiple times? Vol changes multiple steps?

Re: Purchasing Sandbox equipment

Damn good question. TSW750/1050 because it would be beneficial to get familiar with. A 3-series processor. The rest is really questionable because it depends on what you program, resi/commercial/government. Not a captureHD, waste of money and it is easy to figure out.
A DM switcher and a Tx/Rx combo. That blows the budget right there though. Oh, well happy spending.
