Re: Core3 formatted text in VTPro-e (Release Software)

Why don't you use the HTML editor to build the string for you. Then once
you see how they do it you can try and format yourself it if you like...

Can I clarify something when using controllers?

Right now, I'm romaing around this big house between the access points. I keep pressing a button and seeing the fb come into my CF project. At some point, when I drop one WAP and hit another (same SSID, no controller), I lose feedback for a couple of seconds but it seems to be reliably coming back without causing the connection to really break between CF and the processor. If I have a controller-managed WAPs, and good coverage, that couple-second hiccup should be eliminated, correct? The controller sees that one WAP has a better signal strength to the iPad than another and seamlessly hands them off?

Side note: Not that I'm recommending it to anyone, but Ubiquiti is claiming "seamless hand-off" capabilities in the next firmware release for their WAPs, and it doesn't require a controller to manage them. Might be something to keep an eye on, since it will be at a significantly lower price-point than other managed wireless systems.

Re: Creating Epson serial module for Powerlite G5450

I have had an issue with Epson projectors occasionally locking up and needing to be power cycled. Very sporadic, not limited to a single model, and unable to duplicate on the bench. I have many rooms that don't experience the issue, and some that do. I haven't been able to pinpoint it as a projector issue, or a bug in my Simpl+ module.

--- In Crestron@..., "chuckperkinscrestron" <charles.perkins@...> wrote:

I have now disabled all polling with the exception of PWR?\x0D when the projector is powered off. I am not receiving any ERR responses now.

Is there a buffer or something in the projector that needs to be cleared on a regular basis? If the projector is left off for a long period of time(anywhere from a couple hours to overnight), it seems to lockup and won't except a power "on" command. I have had to unplug the projector, and after it rebooted it would then turn on/off with no problems. This repeatedly happens when the projector is left off.

I have not tested overnight since getting the ERR messages to stop, but I have left it on the test bench for over an hour and it did not lock up.

Thanks for all the info so far.

The port number is entered as a parameter in the detail view of the
UDP symbol.

For basic interaction between Crestron and a Bright Author project,
use an SIO with its serial output connected to the input of the UDP
symbol (and vice versa).

I am new to Crestron and would like to know how to send UDP commands. I have some Bright
sign units that I would like to trigger with an Ipad I have setup with Crestron. I have
added a UDP command on C2NENT-2 on port OC. I put the Address as 255.255.255.255 (don't
see were the port is supposed to go though). The command I would like to send in Ascii is
"Trigger". I didn't know if someone had a sample in Simpl that I could look at and reverse
engineer. any help would be great. Thanks

Many are listed in the help if you search for 'shortcut', you'll see a topic for keyboard shortcuts

Wow. Didn't know about CTRL+SHIFT+B. I always just held down ENTER so that
it would autoname the signals. Where are these shortcuts listed?

Interesting! I knew and used Ctrl-Shift-B for auto-fill (which is
undo-able, and will do ranges), but hadn't encountered Ctrl-Shift-H.
Odd that there are two; odd that they name differently.

Why you include the Shift in you Ctrl-G? Without it, your typo is
harmless.

Every now and then I mistype (always when I'm editing a touchpanel in
Simpl) and Crestron
decides to put a signal name on every join of the touchpanel, which is
completely NOT
undoable. Today I finally figured out what the mistype is, instead of
Ctrl+G so that I can
get to a specific join number, I hit the H and I get completely screwed.
