New build and crestron
Hi all,
I'm new to crestron, programming and this forum but i have several pieces of crestron kit that I'm going to try an integrating into a house that I've just built. Here's what I have: 1 x pro 2 6 x tps4l 2 x tpmc4xg 1 x aads 1x pad8a 2 x idoc And All the relevant software and basic training manuals Initially I would like to get 6 audio zones up and running however I would be over the moon if I could just get one working via a touch screen. Would anyone be willing to help me along the way? Or introduce me to the minefield of crestron? Please go easy on me! "All the gear and no idea" I hear you say but I'm willing to put the time an effort in so would appreciate any comments both critical and helpful. Thanks to you all in advance. |
New Crosspoint Symbols in last Database Update
I noticed the new Crosspoint Symbols that I first noticed in Studio are now in Simpl Windows. Anyone use them yet? They do look promising, but of course there is no associated help attached to them. I'll check them out when I get some fabled free time, but thought I might see if anyone has already tried.

What advantage do you offer over someone running a small linux box and using espeak or some other open source TTS software?

Signal change reporting rate
Hi guys
I'm trying to get to the bottom of an issue whereby one of the processors on my (dedicated) network (there are 4 in total, all talk to eachother via EIS) from time-to-time fires a random non-stop digital command.. yesterday it was "Sky_Stop" (IR to Sky HD box), the day before it was a different Sky key, before that an Amplifier signal (rs232 to Denon amp) - there appears to be no pattern or consistency to the command it fires. The only way to stop it is a complete device reset. I've noticed that the processor in question is idling at 9.9 changes per second, mostly from the intruder alarm serial outputs (x2) and the serial Sky program information (x5). Is 9.9 seconds normal for an idle processor? Is there a 'safe' limit? Even better, has anybody experienced similar issues? Cheers, Rick |
Text to Speech Application for Crestron Systems
I have been developing a application to run on a MAC Mini that will take any plain text string from Kaleidescape, iPod, Request or any other device that Crestron can interface with and extract the text, and then speak it out loud.
It was mainly for a blind client that I have but was looking to see if anyone would be interested in a package that I am looking at selling which would include 1:- Crestron Module 2:- Software Application 3:- Mac Mini configured to run application (Optional) If anyone is interested please email me. |

Time to void some warranties. There's probably a PCB trace in there

If it existed, wouldn't we all be using this instead? To paraphrase the old saying - cheap, reliable, nice feature set - choose TWO.

It could be this type of issue, as things seem to have calmed down and we have been running reliably for the last couple of days. Any idea if this kind of issue exists in the 3 Series? --- In Crestron@..., "ermiller76" <slimdog420@...> wrote:
