Re: OT: Multi-room amplifiers

If it existed, wouldn't we all be using this instead? To paraphrase the old saying - cheap, reliable, nice feature set - choose TWO.

Sorry, I should have said... same power, features and quality as the Sonnex 24x8, but less expensive.

Hi,

I love using Crestron Sonnex, but for some projects it is just to expensive. The AAE's aren't bad, but sometimes they are "too light" for some projects.

What do the rest of you use if you require more power than AAE's, but at a budget? I need a unit with at least 8 zones (16 channels), full and reliable control, pre-amp and amplifier in one or separates, BUT cost less than Sonnex 24x8.

Thanks!

Re: Weird Network issues between Crestron products as of late?

Thanks!

It could be this type of issue, as things seem to have calmed down and
we have been running reliably for the last couple of days.

Any idea if this kind of issue exists in the 3 Series?

We have had the same issues at a clients house with a CP2E talking to a Pro2 and a Pac2mini. We have been working with Crestron engineers on the issue and they sent us a BETA firmware that seems to have fixed the issue. We were running the 4.007.00 fimware on both with the same UNKNOWN in the IP table.

Crestron said the "root of the problem is a network link that is going down and back up very quickly ¡ in very short amount of time. This causes us to overwrite the link-up state with the link down state. We will have a firmware that addresses this tomorrow, so this is an option. We could also put the switch on a UPS if all the Crestron processors are connected to the same switch. This would presumably prevent this short cycling. The FW will be a pre-release and it will take some time for this to work its way through our Full QE (Quality Engineering) testing cycle and become incorporated into a released version. Please first explore adding a UPS to the switch (they can do that right now), but if we need to employ the pre-release FW we can do that when its available later this week."

I would contact support regarding the issue and see if they will give the firmware to try.

I switched it out for a cisco 16 port gigabit switch and all is well. I still get errors on the 4.007 firmware but they are not killing my systems anymore. By the way, you can get rid of the 4.007 errors by rolling back the firmware to the previous version. I hope something in my babbling will help.

I have had DM Router issues, where it will show the DM Router as being offline until I reboot the DM and then it pops back up online in the IP Table.

This happened in multiple locations with multiple programs/DMs.

On another site I have CP2E running lights talking to another CP2E and I'm having a hell of a time getting them to talk to each other over an EISC.

A reboot of both will usually connect them up for a while, but then they will stop talking.

One processor is showing a status of "UNKNOWN" and the other shows a connection status of "NO_NETWORK", which I don't remember seeing before.

I gave up using Direct Sockets because they seem broke, but this is just basic Crestron 101 falling apart.

VT-Pro..."suspicious swf object" followed by program crash

davidglassman30

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to throw this one out there and see if anyone else has run into it. Have an open ticket with Crestron but I tend to get a quicker response from the forum so I'm giving it a shot too.

Working on a Core3 panel in VT-Pro. Put several hours into it and didn't have any issue opening or saving it last week. Come in this morning ready to work on it further and I'm greeted with an error message("found a suspicious swf object. It will be removed") followed by an immediate crashing of VT-Pro. No changes to file, programs or settings on my end since last opened.

Very fearful my work is lost. Any potential solutions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hold down Ctrl and hit refresh. It forces IE to download a fresh uncached

A dm wall plate and a dm scaler only. No processor. Set the scaler up for auto detect to allow vga or hdmi to be plugged in.

Thoughts?

Re: MTX 3 battery level analog join

I always used the device extender in Simpl successfully. I do however run across a problem about 25% of the time where the unit will not properly report battery levels at all, not even in its internal setup. When this happens, in setup the battery reports as 0% at all times. The solution is to RMA if this condition exists.
