Re: Infinet EX Switch and 1 HP Motor

a switch is a switch

you can control a 120v coil relay who control another bigger relay.

you can control a power plant if you want

just , you need.... neutral ( the white one )

since march 3 2013 , the priority is managed in Crestron bacnet subsystem

just tried today with latest database AND cp3

beware of the fact that Crestron processor doesn?€?t handle the ?€?priority array?€? of BACnet IP protocol ; when the processor writes a BACnet object, it always does it with ?€?Priority 1?€? (probably highest than that used by the Honeywell control unit).

BACnet uses UDP communication so there's no need to specify an IP address.

You'll need to have unique IDs assigned for the Crestron processor and the HVAC device you're talking to. It doesn't matter what ID you use as long as they're separate.

Probably the easiest way to handle HVAC control is to use an analog value to send to the HVAC system to request a set point, then the HVAC programmer supplies you with an analog input (input to his system) that will represent the current temp read by his sensor(s).

This way you only need 2 BACnet points per HVAC zone. Add the two for your processor as a device and his HVAC controller you're at 4 points for a single zone, plus 2 points for each additional. Under 50 points can be done with the free license in a 3-series processor.

The hvac programmer hasn't done this before and needs to create backet points according to crestron. How can they do this?

Also in the crestron remote bacnet modules there seems to be nowhere to enter the remote IP address, only the name, id and port. Is this all the crestron needs? We did get some feedback about the remote device.

Any tips would be appreciated
Many thanks

Matt

Re: subpage z-order ft-tps4

Been there, done that... The flip-top simply doesn't have that option. Which tells me that probably a separate team of engineers worked on the flip top model than the 4L. Other than that, I can't imagine why the hardware would be different between the two models.

Weak...

The last triggered subpage is what always shows up. You will have to do some tricks with delayed pulses or something...

I can't recall if the option was there before and has disappeared or if I'm just thinking of other touchpanels that I've used.

Can someone confirm if this option was ever available for the ft-tps4?

I just updated everything with Master Installer last night, so I'm wondering if a recent update may have done away with it.

Re: Roomview Enabled Display Stupidity

@Jeremy

In fairness to Vivitek, that issue was a Crestron issue, fixed in a SIMPL update (IIRC) about six months ago. It didn't affect just Vivitek, I believe BenQ and others were affected.

And yes, increasing numbers of projectors are turning comms off by default when in standby to meet green star requirements. I had a job recently where we had to jump through hoops to get an Epson to play ball once it was placed in standby (something about Communications On in one of the sub menus...).

D3 "link" levels between two switches

Heath Volmer

Is there any way to make one load's level always match another?

I have a case where a slave switch needs to turn on it's load, as well as an adjacent load. I thought there was a way to say "level1 = level2".

Alternatively, is there a way to somehow respond to the slave button programmatically? I can't see anything, even at the simpl level. Might have to pull this slave out and stick in a keypad or dummy dimmer.

Re: On site with unfamiliar Denon Receiver

After a quick glance at the API, it appears to be using pretty standard
Denon AVR commands, so I would assume most any modern Denon AVR module would
work. . .at least for core features like power, volume, input, etc.

Re: Touchpanel control from

You could just do a init->equ, with a signal for each of the 9 locations, and each output enables a buffer that links your left/right/up/down/select with the appropriate 'next' action.

So loc(1):
left -> goto(3)
right -> goto(2)
up -> goto(7)
down -> goto(4)
select -> trigger(1)

and so on. Its not clever or easily expandable, but is simple and fairly fast to implement at this size, and easy enough to throw into a module to reuse.
