Re: Samsung controlled via ex-link messes up Apps

I don't know, but I control Samsungs all the time via EX-link and they all can use their apps no problem. Never changed a setting.

In fact I'm using one right now and it works great.

Pretty sure the Crestron JVC DLA-HD100 module controls that series as well.

I've probably always done them step-by-step in the past, and I guess most of my other systems have been panel-based with scattered EX where it makes more sense. Never had to do 60 all at once (I set my poor guy loose on deciphering and replacing all of them in one shot and then a couple of days later I tried to brig it on line. Not cool.)

I'm back in town today. I fought here and there, bringing the MC3 up to the dimmers, and managed to get some of them going. Finally, today, starting from the gateway and working outward, I was able to get the rest of them going.

I have a couple of theories:

1: There is a Chinese microwave spy station broadcasting out of the 30M house next door that just happened to be offline for the duration of my acquisition procedure.

2: All of these silly dimmers are spitting out "wide" band interference of some sort until they are acquired and locked into a channel. After more and more are locked in, the spectrum gets cleared out until the last one finishes up. They also build up their mesh and adjust accordingly of course.

Does anyone have any good knowledge of how these things behave before and during acquisition? I'll do some research. Might be smart to start acquiring as they get powered up.

Yes, your issue with battery life is due to the module you are using, I am
assuming the Crestron one. It polls the locks extremely often. These locks
give unsolicited feedback after any event. If you open the module and change
the polling of the lock as I have, once every 24 hours, simply to query the
battery life, you will see the locks last 4-5 months of average use. Then
you can just invest on two sets of rechargeable batteries.

Connected. We are currently deciding the distribution channel. This will
be
announced for resale shortly ¨C Date is TDB."

I have also used Kwikset with Leviton Zwave controller. My issue was
battery life, it would only last 10 days. the feedback could be seen every
15s, my thought was that was causing the shortened life. I RMAs the
kiwkset
lock 3 times to come to this conclusion. Other than that, the feedback,
control, integration with MC3, Mobile Pro, MTX3, MLX3 was seemless.

Please let me know if you have a hint of help on the battery life I have
experienced. the customer has decided to wait for the Vale, but I could
try
and get back over there to try something if you guys have a hint.

Thanks!
