It's probably also about time I build an example SIMPL program to showcase all of this along with the flowchart..... Maybe I'll have some spare time this weekend.

All of the downstream layers filter up through the top layer so none of that needs to be copied. The same principle applies when adding additional audio zones in the advanced example. Think of the audio zone as both equipment (duplicate the folder with the audio logic/ECROSS) and as a control (it will have a folder containing the same symbols as each interface, but applied to the AV Zone as the controller for the source).
If you plan it right, you can reserve a range of joins on the AV Zone ECROSS and CCROSS for each source type so that any source type can connect to the AV Zone and the signals will be filtered up through the first layer to the interface.
When implemented intelligently, crosspoints allow for an infinitely scalable model to expand the number of interfaces/equipment with minimal effort.

Viewport stuck displaying Hex characters all the time
I had to put Viewport on my W7 Laptop - it seems that the Alt-K reset routine for 2-series processors doesn't really work in Toolbox, per TB. I had set it into Hex display mode once for something else, and now it's stuck. Obviously I've tried re-installing and switching the character type buttons to hex and back, no change. Any suggestions? Is there an ini file somewhere to edit?
Thx

Re: BSS London Crestron modules
So you are saying you don't want to use the 8-Channel N-Gain module to control the Master Fader just because you aren't using the rest of the faders? You can edit the simpl+ to remove all the other signals, re-compile, and you have it. You can also open up the Gain Module and replace the Gain SV (0) with the SV of the N-gain master which is (decimal 96) and it will work. BTW: the guy who worked at BSS who wrote the modules no longer works at BSS.

I'm working on this at the moment. There are lots of hurdles to overcome yet. First, most of the instructables end up with a problem at a step. It took me almost a week of forum posting to get mine running with help. Now that it's running, the problems are:
1. The analog output pops at the beginning and end of each song. So you get two loud pops at each change. You can use a usb audio output, but I haven't tried that yet. The HDMI output does have audio on it without the pops, but now you have to extract it, or use an hdmi input on a receiver.
2. I haven't started to try to send the data to a processor yet, but I'm expecting problems because I don't know linux that well. I'm hoping that a few more forum threads will get some linux guys to help me output this. Then, I need to get the presses in.

Re: Crestron DDNS with AT&T Uverse
We recently had a very similar question. What you are seeing is normal, if your router doesn't support NAT loopback (not all of them do). I'm not familiar with that particular unit, but you can verify if it has such a feature. Otherwise, you need to have 2 entries, one with the local IP for when you are on the home wifi, and another one with the ddns address for when you are outside the home wifi. -- Georges Khalil, M.Sc.A. CommandFusion Crestron List
So I found out how to do a list in Command Fusion. This will allow you to create a list in iViewer/guiDesigner that will work like an iPhone/iPad scrolling list should. Example: A list of rooms in your system, lighting scenes, whatever you want the list to be.
Connection Method: CrestronMobile
List is done by creating 3 different pages.
First Page: Make it as tall as you have items in the list. (At this point it can't be done dynamically without more knowledge of the javascript, and I'm not even sure about that.)
Add all of your items as buttons, lay them out as you would a list and give them your digital, analog, and serial joins that you want.
Second Page: This is where you use your List object from guiDesigner. Add your List object to the page. Open up the List properties windos and set the Header Subpage to the page you created for First Page. Save and close the window.
Third Page: This is the most important. Because of some limitation between Crestron Mobile and the CF javascript you have to create the same buttons you created in your First Page. Simply create a new page, add all the same buttons with your digital, analog, and serial fields, just like First Page. Save and close the window. This page will populate the digital, analog, and serial fields you want to use in your list and make them actually work.
