Re: Simpl+ Question

Heath Volmer

Do a find for the "'"; use that with left, right or substring to
separate string around the &apos into two strings; glue it all back
together with an apostrophe in the middle.

Or get a Core3 panel and send it to it as-is ;-). (Not my recommended
solution.)

Re: Console command to stop program?

Right from the Text Console, you can use ALT-P to bring up a program transfer dialog (or just choose it off of the menu). I hardly ever use system info.

Sometimes opening the System Info tool is too much for the processor to handle when connecting remotely, but the console almost never has a problem.

I guess an alternate solution would be if you have direct access to the Transfer Program tool once you established a connection with the console. I don't think I have ever checked.

Re: Roomview SE - No joing numbers?

Expand the SE symbol and look at the digital, analog, and serial slots.

If you highlight the input or output and look in the status bar it should display the join number in the status bar if it's covered by the parameter field. All three signal types start at 50 for the first "arbitrary" joins.

I am in the process of adding an existing system to Roomview SE, and the client has given me join numbers (analog & digital), but in server edition there are no join numbers (?). Does a person need to use these numbers, or does simply naming the attribute within the parameter field on the SDK do the job? Little confused by this...

Re: is there an equivalent of "TOP" command on a 3-series?

3 series has full system monitoring via Slot 10 on the processor definition
or you can connect using systme monitor in toolbox and it will give you
realtime updates on all metrics.

Is there anything similar for the 3 series? The CPULOAD seems to give

Re: Console command to stop program?

Console command is stopprog

If using 3-series it's stopprog -p:X where X is the program number from
1-10

The ALLCLEAR command doesn't exist on the TSW... Figures.

Check out Crestron Answer ID: 4830 regarding Selective Join Updates if you
have not done so yet and make sure you do not reuse join numbers across
processors.

Keep sales in the loop on the go to panels for big systems if they will
listen as one panel that does not support multiple IP ID's can throw a
wrench into the works when you get to programming it.

This does work reliably when you follow the rules.

He said, "No it has never worked. It might work for a while, but that
doesn't mean it necessarily will for long."

Case closed?

Maybe they should disable the multiple IP-ID ability if we can't use it.
I just ran all the TPs' climate signals through a big EISC and treat those
just like TPs in the climate program. Confusing, and creates double the
work for every action, but it's pretty minor.

I'm experimenting with sending the data from different

Current:
MC3
prog01 - UI navigation, system misc
prog02 - security
prog03 - A/V

QM-RMC - HVAC (connected via serial to 2x Carrier SAM boards)

AES - WHA (currently inactive)

PAC2M - Lighting (D3)

Everything works well at first blush, but after a period of time
(ranges from a few minutes to an hour) the panels seem to stop updating
security and HVAC data (digital, analog, and serial).

Master-6L
IPID - Prog - Join# Range
04 - Lighting - 0-200
20 - Security - 700-799
30 - HVAC - 800-899

Two other 6L panels are identical but IPIDs are incremented by 1.

The issue is temporarily resolved by either resetting the program or
panels.

TIA.

It's evidently some sort of Swiss adult-pop/retro station that they have

Re: Windows 7 and XPanel

It's been over a year since the last Browser-Based XPanel I did, but on Windows 7 running IE as administrator (right click IE icon / run as administrator) worked just fine, if you can overlook the potential security risks if you browse other sites while IE is running with elevated permissions.

It¡¯s not Win7. Rather an update to IE broke the standard Xpanel.
Update to IE9 caused Xpanel web to no longer work for me and other systems I¡¯ve tried.
