Re: iPad and Animations and other questions..

Well, not on ALL counts :-)

Crestron Mobile can do animated page-flips. There's an option in the Properties
setting of each page, or it can be set globally for the entire project.

My personal cool thought - have a page flip effect like when changing

pages/sub pages, and when the user stops on a particular page, it
activates/routes the video to the display.

Anyways, if I am missing something, please let me know.

It sounds like the button area needs to be cleaned, inside the panel. It could
also be the very common "swollen battery" issue, as someone else mentioned.

I got it off Ebay (very cheap) so I don't have any official options, just some
home based fixes.

The "official" option is to send it to Crestron for repair, which *ANY* Crestron
dealer can do for you. Not that they will, but they can :-) I'd try calling a
couple of dealers in your area, to see if they'll help.

Extron MVC121 module in file section?

Any used this module yet and verify it works?
Going to try it later today on site somewhere.
It looks like its solid, although I wonder if you have to use an oscillator when ramping the vol up and down commands.
Otherwise the user would have to keep pressing the up/down buttons.
(I could be wrong)
Also, do you have to press the "vol view" button once or multiple times to get the feedback to drive the analog scaler for you vol meters.

thanks in advance and especially to the creator of this module!

Re: Dynamic Graphics

I'm guessing when he says "local" he means on the same subnet, rather than the processor itself being the webserver. A "real" webserver on the same network *should* be the optimal place to serve files.

Not sure why it's going slow though... sorry!

Yea, use a non-local server. Processors really are not building for serving files; they just kind of happen to do it.

Re: I'm Loosing It...

Just to add to anecdotal evidence...

I've also had problems with the CNRFGWA with RTI and, like Dan, the issue was foreign device interference. It took a while to track down, but it turned out that a Rako RAV232+ interface I added to the system was constantly transmitting. Remove the interface, and everything was fine again.

Major credit to Rako on openness and customer service - I asked them about the issue, and they 'fessed up straight away that it was a known issue on an old batch of RAV232+'s and they replaced the unit within a couple of days. Everything plays nicely now.

I'm sure we'd all get a lot more done with far less stress if companies were more open with "known issues" ;)

Apologies for bumping an old thread, hopefully my experience can help someone else.

i had a similar problem with an RTI, CNRFGWA and Pro2. Worked fine for a long time, then 2 days ago, all 3 CNRFGWA lights on, all the time. Swapped another CNRFGWA, same problem, all lights on.

Checked code, cabling...

Nothing I tried fixed the problem.

I remembered I also had FOB troubles with my car alarm that afternoon, which suggested interference of some sort.

Unfortunately, returning home the next day, the car alarm FOB worked fine, and the CNRFGWA activity LED was off.

The system worked exactly as it had before the problem arose.

I figure one of the neighbours has a ham radio or something like that, and its just flooding the 433mhz band and the CNRFGWA is picking up on it and freaking out.

Ill update this if it happens again, and I can figure out the source of interference.

(as a note, i live in a big house on a big section in the burbs, its not an inner city apartment)

Dish Network Hopper2000

Hey Y'all,
Just left a clients house who has a Dish DVR model Hopper2000. Any chance one of you guys has an IR file for it. The menu says IR is enabled but none of the older drivers work. Very new device, thought I would try you guys before calling Dish Network. His remote was UHF of course, so learning was out of the question.
TIA, Kim

Are you sure this isn't being caused by a swollen battery? Try removing the battery and see if the buttons feel normal.

Well, turns out one entire document is dedicated to calculating the checksum and some mysterious "control bytes". Uh oh.

It's a surround receiver and a transport deck! Not a nuclear centrifuge! I wanted to bang this out before dawn and be done, not sit around doing bitwise arithmetic.

And the protocol document specifies a "standard straight throw serial cable". Ugh.

Re: SystemBuilder / MC3 programming issues

Sorry, I can't resist jumping on this soap box, I really hate SB. I have had so many bad experiences with it, just like this one, I hope I never again have to touch it. I have been there with the customer wanting their stuff working and me going (after half a day on the phone with TB) sorry it is out of my control, their are issues with the compiler and crestron is trying to resolve it.(or some BS like that)I also have no idea when I can give you a functioning system, but I will call you as soon as I find out. I do not miss those days. Simpl may take longer than SB, but I can always fix what I have screwed up and get the system functioning for the customer.

Anyone having multiple problems with trying to get SystemBuilder created programs for MC3's to work properly - or to even get two builds that have the same problems (instead of a fresh batch of problems with every new build) - should note that your efforts will be in vain.

Especially if you're using RSD's.

Stop. Your only choices (at the moment) are to create your programs in SIMPL, or abandon the MC3 and go back to a 2 Series processor.

Tech support has indicated to me that they have no timeline as to when this will be rectified. The number of issues they have to deal with to fix this indicates to me that this may take quite a while.

Go have a beer. It may not be good for you, but at least it's soothing.

Re: Controllable Sonos style iTunes media player

Autonomic has a client program called "Mirage Media Sync" that you would run on the PC's or Mac's that house the iTunes libraries that you would load music into.

(PS forgot to mention in my earlier post that Autonomic supports multiple iTunes music libraries, a rarely used but very cool feature)

I find that a single song updates within a few minutes at worst, and if you're importing a huge amount of data/songs it can take a little while, but it will do it without any outside intervention.

--- In Crestron@..., "floyd1212" <floyd1212@...> wrote:

Will the MMS-2 see the new content "as soon as they add an audio file in iTunes by any method?" Or do you have to tell the MMS-2 to re-index the library before it will see the new content?

Just as an FYI, you have to re-index the library on the Sonos before it will see the new content as well. This can be triggered manually through the Sonos interface, or can be setup to happen on a fixed schedule.

Is there a Sonos style player out there that can play iTunes music files
that is RS-232 or IP controllable? All I need is to be able to play
audio files in one zone or area of a building.

Thanks.
